Well I played around with the region again this evening and I was able to open another city with luck, maybe I will be able to open many more if I find all the files needed.

Here is a picture (WARNING: GIANT PICTURE....3500x1800 pix) of the whole region and those marked with a Red X , I wasn't able to open yet (the game crashes on me). All the unmarked cities , I can open.

You have to copy and paste the whole url (the whole line) to be able to reach the picture, because somehow just clicking on the url doesn't seem to work:

I'm glad you wil finnish this story. Has for Lavender I like it really. I remember that you h made the same kingd of remark in the beginnings of Nexis of Genesis. Like for Lavender you said that you would stop the CJ because there was noone interested. The fact is that Nexis of Genesis has been dormant for so long that many new member don't even know about it thus maybe explaining why the flow of comments is much closer to what most CJs get. My CJ for instance got far less comments than Lavender did in it's first updates. Time erases memory very fast here and you may have to refresh some people about how great your CJs are before you get as many comments has you did with Nexis.

Click this link for the above picture without copying an pasting

Just click the above. (I think you need the DHTML editor to do the above)

I can't wait for the final update(s), even if it means that this won't be around anymore.

I've been looking in the other CJs and this one will never really "end" because of the other CJs that are based on it and have similar ideas. So the end is not the end at all. It would mean more beginnings.

Nexis of Genesis, The Ending...Part I

Well, you asked for it and I have promissed to write an end to this story, even though I have lost contact (so to speak) with most parts of the region since my last virus attack on my computer. I was able to save more than I thought though and the story will not really be changed because of it. I have even restablished some cities that I never thought to be able to open lately and hopefully I will find a way to enter at least one or two of the biggest Cities, such as Axis, Nexis City or Gloryville.

This is *The Beginning* of the End of Nexis of Genesis.

50 long years have been passed in the Solaris system and things have almost come back to normal again. The Giant Meteor Opall was integrated into the planetary system as a new member and now has a role of its own. The solar system has a new friend that is orbiting their sun.

Mahoon, Genesis and Uru have not changed a lot and people on them didn't either. Their contact between them has been kept alive and well and benefitting of one of another is continuing.I would even say that the Gaburans of Mahoon have been more and more merchandizing with Genesis in the last 20 years now and even cultural exchanges have been made. The cold war is over.

The planets Verto and Corus have been considered as completely dead by now. Verto , the rich green planet now has turned into a greyish color, which all vegetable life was exterminated by the arrival of the Meteor, and Corus , the planet of water now is only one big piece of ice, since it travels in the shadows of Opall all the time.

    genesisnewsystem2ky.jpg

Uru has more intensive storms nowadays, but some scientists say that this will change and calm down with the years to come. Mahoon has no visible changes at all and Gaburans have been continuing their lifestyles without interruption. It is on Genesis that once every third year they have darkness for a period of almost three days now. Opall comes into the path between Solaris (their sun) and their planet, hiding all light from the source. This period is now known as the Nexis days and it is considered as a sacred holiday on Uru and Genesis.

Daight Nexis, the first of the Nexis family in this story, was the one that discovered Opall and predicted its path some centuries ago, the period was called *The years of Nexis*. Once the massive Opall has settled down, the years started from 0 again, as we can probably all remember and a new period began.

Like most of us, we hardly remember what we saw the last time of Nexis of Genesis, it has been some time. Let's just roughly continue from where we left and talk about the Nexis family at first.

Exacly 50 years ago, Vallen Nexis , the richest man alive was burried in the Gloryville cemetary. Thanks to him, many people were saved from the destructive forces that Opall caused on Uru, while imigrating to Genesis through his LBST (Light-beam Space Traveler). Vallen also was the Great Ruler on Genesis for many years and the proud father of Troy and Lyll Nexis. After he died, his greatson Jadis Nexis, son of Troy, took over the Nexis Corporation, but like all good things in life, evrything has a beginning and an end. Jadis Nexis died only a few years later of an unknown disease, and slowly after the death of Lyll Nexis, his aunt who never married, and the death of his father Troy, the Nexis family became somehow disrupted, probably because of the massive power and influences they had in the region. Everyone wanted its part of the cake. Nexis Corporation was disolved and slowly separated into many smaller Corporations. The Nexis Space Corp. was sold to the Gouvernment and Nexis Electronics was bought by the Sirius Group later, also was the LBST program and the manufacturing plants, while other departments have been bought off here and there within the last 25 years. Today a rare descendant of the remaining Nexis family, Pfil Nexis, is the only one that still owns a part of its Great grandfather's empire. Pfil is the son of Jadis and Sarah MacVicar, the daughjter of the powerful MacVicar Mining family that once ruled Genesis together with the Nexis, Tiel and the Dice families. We certainly all remember Alexander MacVicar from Coarseville, now don't we?

To some, it doesn't seem to be a long period of time, when we talk about 50 years having passed, but one must consider that 50 years of existance is almost a lifetime of a complete generation. In the next updates we will have a look at these 50 long years passed, without going into all the details though. We will discuss roughly the most important events of the new first half of the century.

We are nearing the end of the second generation of the so called * celebrities of Genesis*, and only a very small handful of these builders of the New world are still alive. I think that there are only 4 of them still around, all in their 90's. Many have changed the face of the region and others changed the rules of this civilization, some for the better and some for the worse, but one thing is sure, without them, Genesis wouldn't have been the same.

It will take some time to write, organize and display the end of Genesis, so I hope you will show patience and encouragement. See you all soon.

Well, superchad, I suppose you just have to wait to see if Chad Benson became a hero, a successful businessman or just a dumba**, and if he's still alive. (lol) Many things change within 50 years you know?.

If I am able to open and repare all the cities of Nexis of Genesis, I will promiss to continue to make a small update once in awhile, whenever I like to play with this region. So, maybe...yess...Nexis of Genesis will never die.

It will be even harder now to become reality with all the files missing in the STEX, but I am supposed to have everything (every freakin' zipfile that I downloaded since 1996) on the D:/ Drive where I have kept them in separate folders, but man...this is a nightmare finding something in there.....lol. It contains almost 44,000 zipfiles and has a size of 15.6 Gb's......omg..... Imagine, and then there's the .Rar folder which is only a little less big ( mostly TS2 files, but containing most japanese SC4 batfiles), and then the downloaded program folder, which is a lot bigger in size, but containing less files.

So, wish me luck and a long life.....lol

BTW, thanks for the comments. 4.gif

    The Ending - Part II

Just a few years later after we have been on Genesis for the last time, Mr Sven left the community and died in his sleep at the age of 82 years. He was our real-estate business man, if we remember right. One of the richest men at this time on Genesis, he was running I don't know how many Residences, Appartment blocks, Restaurants and Casinos and hotels. Most of his businesses were in Oxalis/Megantic and most of his residences and Appartments were in New Sholes and Tenzel Outlet. His wife Ancke survived him for many years and even reached the 100 year old mark I heard from some. Both his daughters continued to take care of the other Sven businesses and enterprises and only his son continued the real-estate company until his retirement, and then it was sold to the Sirius Group, which also renamed the Company right after to *Sirius Svenestates*, which today is still the largest of them all with even one branch on Mahoon since 3 years.
When Opall entered the Solaris system's orbits and it was certain that this monster stayed for eternity, life became somehow a stage with mixed feelings. People did not exactly know what to do anymore and how to continue their lives and lifes. Civilization was unstable. It was hard to believe  that the end of Uru wasn't near anymore, and so people got thrown between the two planets, Uru and Genesis. Many went back to Uru and more immigrated from Uru wanting a piece of Genesis. About 44 years ago, the Genesian Government decided to become independant, which of course almost led to a cold war between the two Urulian Nations. Many Gouvernment programs and planned missions were abandoned at this time, like the Space program Forscher 1 and the investigations of the two planets of Corus and Verto, which they never had the chance to explore. Now both of these planets are completely dead, one greycoloured with dried vegetation remains and the other one became an iceblock. It was a shame.

    1planetsthreehundred7iu.jpg

Only few people were able to control both civilizations and made sure that they didn't destroy themselves in a physical war.
One of them was Nick Ranly, who we still remember as one of the best space scientists we had on Genesis. He became ,shortly after Dr Greem died ,the official replacement of the Space program's direction and only a few years later, he was chosen as one of the twelve Rulers. It is then that he took destiny in his hands and won the hearts of many and many of the population. Some even say that he was the one and only Ruler that Mankind ever loved so much because of his excellent sense of judgement and logic. It was thanks to him that Uru and Genesis was re-united again  in peace, but independant of each other. Only a few years later, the calm came back and Nick returned to the job that he loved most, the Space discovery program. He gave his dimission as a ruler only after 6 years of Rulership and continued in the Space program for many years after. At the age of 66, he retired and he bought the Miss Evermind Mansion on the top of the hills in West Axis, later called the Hawklyn Valley, and after one year only he decided to go back to his birthplace and have build himself a home there. Lichen was his favourite place, his birthplace.
A  Bronze statue is being created by one of the best known artists on Genesis at this moment in honour of Mr Ranly, which will soon be placed on top of the Evermind Mountain in Smurfmind and another one will end up on Mount Uruly on Uru for his achievement of bringing peace to the two Nations.

Mr Ranly is also known as the man who made the first contact with a new civilization far away. Through the works of the probe Forscher one and the probes around the planets in the Solaris system, contact between the Genesians and the people from *Myon* was made , when Nick attained his 44 years.

    2Forscher1Parked.jpg

Never was there a direct contact between the two though, since the travel of living things through the empty space of the Sunless starsystem was impossible, and still is today. But people of Myon know that Genesis, Uru and Mahoon exist and vice versa. Still today pictures and videos are sent from one side onto the other side of space through the probes, hoping that one day both meet and be able to greet themselves hand in hand. Thanks to Nick Ranly.
In his early thirties, Mr Ranly met a woman and finally got married only after a few months, they had two kids, Lauren and Jarred, both also still alive and well. Lauren in her fourties today and is working for the Sirius Group as the CEO for the Interplanetary buisiness groups. She is stationed on Uru, but travels a lot to and from Genesis and Mahoon. So does her brother Jarred, a little younger. He works in the space program like his father did, but is not aiming into the same direction as his him though. Extrememly handy with his fingers, he always invents little mechanical and technical things that help out the space stations, vessels and even the technology of artificial humanparts. Now 42 years old, he is known as the inventer of the first artificial Liver, that already some dozens of people wear inside themselves. Is he starting a new era of humanoid life?
Nick and his wife Shelby are still alive today and are well. Of course Nick has nothing to do with any space programs anymore, as if he had enough in his times, but he still runs a small Company in Round lake City that does a lot of the special effects in movies and documentary films. Only having 5 employees, he still hangs around there once in awhile, making sure that his kids (as he calls them) do a good job. It was his hobby and became a part-time job and occupation after his retirement. He is 85 years old today and quite a personality to meet.
Roundlake has changed a lot, so did many other towns, villages and Cities, and when you drive through it today, one would not really find his way around anymore. The two following pictures show what Roundlake used to be and what it became to in the last 50 years. (Yellow Circles show some of the buildings that have survived these times).

    3RoundLakeJunction-DecTime0.jpg

    4RoundLakeJunction-Dec50YearsAfter.jpg

We all remember the cold that installed itself between the Genesians and the Gaburans from Mahoon at a certain moment? Well, the murders of the scientists that happened back in these years in conspiracy with the Gaburans were never solved. But relations between the two nations were improved only a few years after Opall had installed itself in the Solar system. All that we know today is that it was probably a question of energy that was found in abundance in the Naganik Wildlife Reserve, which was at that time of a certain importance to the Gaburans, but that has changed, since other methods of obtaining energy have been found. Much cleaner, more safely and a lot cheaper is the OCE, (Oxygen Compulsive Erosion) that was discovered about 40 years ago and now is available on Uru, Genesis and Mahoon. The Sirius Group were the first to put their hands on that discovery and in the 30 years after its discovery, they have made a lot of (and I mean a lot) profit distributing this energy. Today with so many concurrences, the cost of this energy has gone down to only a little fraction of what it was at that time. Ten years ago the Sirius group realized that it was better to sell its part before it becomes almost free one day. So today, it is the Gouvernments of all three planets that control the OCE energy.

Hope you all like this update again. There will be another one soon enough.
    Have a nice week.

The Ending Part III   (Grand Dam City)

Since I closed The Lavender Story CJ yesterday, I will put more effort into the Ending Story of Nexis of Genesis from now on. There will be quite a few more details coming up and also one historical screenshot of every township that we will visit each time I make an update. If I have calculated it right, there will be more than 20 updates coming up.......geeeeeez, what an ending!

The Spring after the Giant Meteor Opall entered its orbit around Solaris is well remembered. The presence of Opall near the sun warmed up the athmosphere of the surounding planets, including Genesis, which was one of the hardest hit. In the mountains the temperatures raised up to 8 degrees more than normal and of course melted the snow in great quantities in the following spring. An inondation followed, which killed more than 5,000 people in that year.
In Grand Dam the Dam broke, which of course caused a real mess in the lower valleys, such as in Hawklyn Valley, Round Lake Junction, Axis South and Tenzel Outlet, plus others.
Today, almost 45 years after, most of the unfortunate event is not seen anymore, but the dam is still broke and they never repaired it. Now a bridge crosses over the crevice. It is considered as one of the biggest tourist attraction on Genesis since the dam once was the biggest construction site on the planet, being terra-formed by thousands of people. There's a museum of its history right below the dam, where once the electricity for the whole region was produced.
A year after the inondation, a new form of energy was developped, the OCE (Oxygen Compulsive Erosion) which is a lot safer, cleaner and of course cheaper. This was one reason that the dam wasn't reconstructed. While they were experimenting the development of the OCE, electricity was produced by the Sirius Corporation's Power Company in Cold Valley, which was at that time ready to produce more energy than needed and jump in to replace the powerstations that were damaged. Since the Sirius Power Corporation is situated on top of the mountains of Cold Valley, the inondation had no effect there at all.

    1granddamcityjulbrokendam5fs.jpg

Of course this event changed a lot of things on Genesis. People now are afraid of dams and even the society has formed a group of people that make sure no dangerous energy producing plants are to be build again. Nowadays in their sight is the Sirius Power Corporation , which is about to close its doors of the nuclear powerplants in Cold Valley very soon. The OCE plants are in the Nexis City area, where 90 % of that cheap, clean and safe power is produced these days. The plants below the dam were inondated and then partially restored to contain other manufacturing companies and also a museum of the Dam's history ,since its beginning more than 150 years ago.

    2granddamcityremainingelect9be.jpg

The bottom of the lake became invaded by homes, once dried out and the decision not to repair the dam was made. It became the suburbs of Grand Dam City. The new space was much appreciated by the population, because the City was slowly running out of residential construction space. The Icelake River is still running through the valley and separating the dambottom into two. Of course it is carrying a lot less water, even in the springtime, because these years the snow in the mountains is hardly seen. Temperatures have changed and the planet is about 2 to 3 degrees warmer than before, and all that thanks to Opall. Only the highest mountains still receive some snow sometimes, but not enough to cause another inondation in the melting seasons.

    3granddamcityaug17qf.jpg

Remember the Welcome Island that was in the middle of the damned lake. Well it is still there, but not an island anymore, instead more of a hill. The Welcome statue is still overlooking the city and its surrounding area has become a National Hiostorical Reserve Park. It receives more than 250,000 visitors a year, which is excellent for the Grand Dam City's treasure and economy. It was renovated only last year.

    4granddamcitydec17hv.jpg

Grand Dam City is today the 6th biggest City in the Genesis region, containing a population approximately of 825,000. It is one of the most important cities concerning banking, financing and insurances. Many Bankheadquarters are found here and also the famous Sherlock Holmes Security Agency, which moved here from Bolton Hill about 12 years ago.
It is also the home of Shane Boxx, the airplane pilot that has started his pilotingschool about the time that we have left Genesis 50 years ago. Today he is retired and living in penthouse near the Citypark. He became one of the most famous pilots when he saved the lives of  225 people aboard his plane on a flight to another region and when the plane got hit by a lightning and everything went offline. He had to glideland the plane onto the plains of Jacob, just 500 miles north of Nexis City. Something that has never been done before with an airplane that size. His lifesaving maneuvers are teached today in all pilotings schools on Genesis and Uru. He had a wonderful time piloting these planes for more than 30 years.

This last picture of Grand Dam is where it all started, almost 125 years ago. It lasted 5 years to have it finished and emplyed 7000 workers of all trades. The City has come a long way.

    5damconst1a0aw.jpg

A historical picture like this will be seen everytime I do an update, just for you *oldtimers* who want to remember the old days of Nexis of Genesis.
Be back in a few days. Meanwhile leave some comments. ( more than Lavender please.....lol).   Thanks. Have a nice weekend and week.
    mrbisonm

Edit: had some problems uploading the pics, took me three times and 1 hour.....geeeez, where's the old ST site?
