ok, here is some news about the next update. It will be giant....gosh, I don't even know if my connection will be able to hold this through.

Anyways, the first of 5 (five) more Mega-updates will be on the weekend of November 19/20th, meaning in about a week or so. We will visit some major Cities like Axis South, Gloryville Grand Dam and Nexis City in like 10 to 15 years from now (or where we stopped), and there will be a lot of talk about these Cities that have changed immensively in the last decade. I even wonder if we all recognize these places. Also we talk about some of our celebs and of course about the Giant Meteor, Opall, which is now a part of the (Genesis) Solaris Solar System. Plus another surprise.

After we will have another update maybe a week or so later of other major cities that were only smaller towns before, like New Sholes, Three Towers,Ivory Hills, Moose Bone and Raging River Jct that have become big Cities in the last years, probably some of you have never heard of these before. And also talk again about some achievements of our celebs, deaths and some changes on Uru.

Make sure to be there, that will be quite interesting, because some of the mysteries and secrets will start to get a form and soon be reveiled.

Here is one of many final updates to conclude this story of *Nexis of Genesis* that has been around for quite awhile and has given joy to many Simtropolis CJ fans.

*For a moment I wasn't sure that I was driving in the right direction and in the right City. Everything seemed so different.*

It has been 16 years since the last time I was here on Genesis and sure enough ,things have changed a lot in Gloryville, the Capitol of Genesis. I arrived by plane this morning on White Sands Island, just east of the Gloryville's downtown and rented a car ,so I can drive through the whole region and bring you the long awaited updates. Yes, it has been a long time and now it is time to see what happened on Genesis,Uru,Mahoon and in space, plus see what happened to all these celebrities that we once followed so dearly and weekly.
At the airport I looked at some airshots from the Gloryville region that were posted on the walls, I took some pics of them, so you can see them also. Here you can see that Gloryville, Tenzel Outlet, Axis South,Bolton and even Atlas have been sodered together. There are hardly no empty spaces between them anymore. I heard that Gloryville now rules four townships all together and has a total population of almost 1 Million. Only Atlas South is still independant. Tenzel Outlet, Atlas (at least a part of it), Bolton and White Sands all belong to the Capitol's gouverning. Something similar has happened to Nexis City also, which counts 1.4 Million inhabitants by now, they say. Hm....Can't wait to see this.

 

Times have changed, so has the region and the people. Some have grown up and others have left us. Some places are so different that we hardly can recognize them and still some old places have not changed in downtown Gloryville.
I will spend some time here to bring you all the details of the Genesian gouvernment, then we will sprint around town and see what the neighboring townships look like. And then we do some research, if we can find some of our friends in this area or nearby and what they have been up to.

 

 

So let's go to the City hall of the Genesisian Region in Gloryville and find out what happened there first.
It is for the second time in Genesis's history that a woman is the Grand Ruler and that the counsil of the ten rulers are made out of 4 women and 6 men. And it suprized me enormously that I saw Horatio Utora on Ruler's seat No 5. He is only 39 years old and already a ruler? We will get to this in details later on.
The Natural Park that was sponsered by Miss White and Miss Barby many years ago is still in existance, something I thought would have long disappeared with the years, but the Park Association is very powerful nowadays, some say that even the City has to ask them for any modification of the terrains within the City limits.This is serious, I suppose.

Now let's go to the space Center's Main Office and hear them out to see what happened in the last 13 years out and up there.
As suspected , the Meteor Opall has changed its path and is now orbiting Solaris just like any other planets of this system. Mr Otavio was right 30 years ago, when he said that it might slowly change its path because of the Giant Gazplanet Kdorn's attraction. So it did! In the year 4 before Nexis, Opall officially entered the orbit of Solaris and stayed there, causing the green planet of Verto to completely die though, because of the massive shadow that now hangs over this small planet,that has lost its beautiful green colour.

 

The big Meteor caused a lot of damage, although it spared Uru. But many other planets have suffered from its existance and it might worsen in some cases for some planets.
Mahoon has now longer winters and colder average temperatures. The Gaburan said that they might immigrate to Genesis in later years. The Genesisians have no other choice than to accept them, since they have claimed another part of this planet, while they were here before the Urulians, remember? But Gaburans and Genesians are doing well together and even some commercial and industrial exchange have been done.
No significant changes can be seen on Genesis though, except that winters might be a bit milder than before and snowfall has dropped by 30 percent in the mountains, meaning that Grand Dams powerdam is producing less than before. But as we all remember, the Sirius Group started building a bigger, and non water depending Powerplant in Lichen near the regional prison, which now is producing a good part of Genesis' eletricity needs.
Verto died 6 years ago, even before they had the chance to do some research of its rich algae plantlife. Corus also has some significient changes in temperatures, being like 13 degrees Celsius higher than before, which of course speeds up lifeforms evolution quite rapidly. And of course Novalyss has changed also, since it will never see the light of Solaris again, traveling inside the shadows of the Mega Meteor around the sun.
Uru has had some severe storms and weather changes when Opall passing so close and many regions were totally destroyed, but since 3 years, they say, the planet is reviving again and it shows a lot that the wounds heal after all.
70% of the population stayed on Uru, some 14 % died and some 16% immigrated to Genesis before the year of Nexis.

So, for the next thousands of years I guess, we will see a big Meteor orbiting in our solar system. People still have get to used to it, to see the meteor once a year in their skies taking up a lot of space.
Now that the meteor has calmed down and placed itself undangerously in a regular orbit aound Solaris, people on Uru, Mahoon and Genesis have gone back to normal living without the stress and worry of Opall destroying their worlds. Back when the LBST broke down just a few years before the Meteor was supposed to enter Uru's path, people started panicking. Today the LBST (Lazer Beam Space Traveler) is back functioning and bringing in an immense yearly income for the Nexis Corporation again. This time it is more often used to transport materials from one planet to the other. The Great son of Vallen Nexis,Jadis Nexis, is still the President of the biggest Enterprize on Genesis, but the way things are going with the Sirius Group nowadays, Nexis Corp might have found a serious challenge.

I also talked to the General Director of Space Operations at the same time, when I was in his office about these small probes that were once found 13 years ago. These were definitivly from another planet and they have been identified, but no contact has been officially done yet though with the owners of these little spacespies. Their mother probe was sent back to them with a message of peace and friendship and hopefully will arrive on their planet in the next year.
Forscher I, the Genesian probe still is near that inhabited planet and cannot be recuperated, probably because it is still malfunctioning. One day a manned ship will leave to meet these people or humanoids, is what General Director Alph Jeestfeld told me when he left the conference room.

Back to Gloryville. I went to find out what Chad Benson ,Daniel Henderson and Thom Yorke have been up to in the last 16 years and was surprized that all three are well known business men these days. It wasn't hard to find them, just mentioning their names and anyone told me where exactly to find them.

Thom Yorke has started a big business Empire lately and the way it is going it seems to grow every year. I was surprized to see him live in a penthouse of high luxury appartment in the vicinity of the old plaisance harbour in Gloryville, but even more surprized to find out that this appartment bldg was his own. Things indeed must be going well. I also found out that Jim's Construction Company was finally sold out to Mr Yorke and that he is the new owner of that immense Construction Empire. He also has bought one of the most beautifull terrains in Grand Falls from Jim, where he wants to build one of the biggest mansion ever seen on Genesis one day. He said if Mr Kevin Slayer would be still alive, he surely would have become jealous to see Thom's mansion becoming bigger and more impressive than his own and famous Slayer mansion in Skinnercounty. That is something that we will have a look at also at a later time and I am sure that it will impress some of you either.

 Jim's son, now in the late 50's is more occupied with his father's *Wonderful World of Waterfalls* Park (WWW) in Grand Falls. Before Jim died some years ago, he started a Park in Grand Falls, where he lived, to have the general public enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. Now his son just enlarged the park and takes care of it. That was one reason for him to sell the Jim's Costruction Company to Thom Yorke, which he renamed RHF Construction.
Also living in the same neighborhood, an almost competitor in the construction business, is Daniel Henderson, the founder of Hendo Productions. His business is more concentrated in the architectural department of construction, although he still owns his smaller business of construction in White Sands that he started 17 years ago. Concentrating more in the commercial art of building, Mr Henderson has become what Mr Brett was in the beginning of Genesis's civilization. Mr Henderson has been investing a lot of time and money with Mr Timotheus of the Sirius Corporation and soon as he says, harvesting his investments will make his company grow even more. When you need the best of the best in Commercial Designing, everyone recomments the Hendo Productions.

Then I found Chad Benson also in the Capitol City and I was immensivly surprized that he had a beautiful Villa , near the R.I.C.O.Tv station. Only the richest of the so called High Society folks live there. Chad Benson's brother now runs his father's business, the Benson Aircraft Corporation, since he died only three years ago. Mr Chad Benson, now in his early 40's, is today the owner of several business chains all over Genesis and only lately opened the first Genesian store on the Mahoon planet. His wife Rachel came from a rich family as we all remember and helped Chad to build his own empire without the help from his father. Now that his electronics Stores, tools and hardwares stores and Safety equipment stores do very well and give even the Nexis Electronics more or less a hard time in competition, Mr Benson sees that the Aircraft business of his father is slowly degrading and his brother is not doing the job right. Chad is about to make an offer to buy Benson Aircraft and wishes it to become a part of Benson Industries.
Mr Benson together with his wife Rachel have 4 kids now,the twins Drake and Josh, then Brittney and the latest arrival is Leah. He is a well known personality in the political part of Gloryville and he is even in the counsel on seat number 2 and some says that he might make an excellent Mayor of the Capitol City one day.

 

 

Tenzel Outlet, who doesn't remember Tenzel, now has some serious environmental problems. Industrial works are producing pollution which are not all reaching the proper path of safe discharge. Some of it got somehow into the water of the Tenzel Bay and in the harbour area and this was only lately discovered. An alert has been given and a half a dozen of environmental specialists are working to find out where all this comes from and what causes it. Pollution is something that Genesis has not yet dealed with and never wanted to. But nowadays with a total region population of more than 4 Million, it was only a matter of time when it was going to happen.
Some say that they have a similar problem in Nexis City's Industrial Park, Cedar Bay. I suppose we will go there one day also and have a look at it later.
Although Axis Harbour has taken more than 90% relief of the Tenzel harbour, sometimes people in Tenzel think that there is still too much harbour activity going on. Industries around here are doing extremely well, and we of course remember the Big Smurfer Industries, which still is one of the biggest ones around, hiring more or less approximately 6000 people today.

 

 

To the west, Tenzel has grown like most of the townships, and is now separated from its western neighbor Axis South only by an official line on paper. Because residential gound has become seriously rare in the Axis and Gloryville region, all the free land that can be found is taken for residential growth. The only little free space Tenzel Outlet still has is in the north, touching Axis Harbour and on Pig's Island on the most northern tip. Tenzel now has a population of 170K and is eleventh on the population scale.
Here lives Jason McLary, the famous testdriver of the GMC (Genesis Motor Company) in Moosebone. We remember that once Jason had a terrible accident long time ago, but this has been completely forgotten. Jason just invested some several hundreds of thousand of simoleons into an Appartment block in downtown Gloryville, which he will, once finished own on his own and move into one of its appartments next year. This has always been a dream for him.
Today he is one of the most wanted fellows in the Automobile Industry. Only 40 years old, he offers his experiences to several Car Companies, and also the minister of transport security. But can you image that at his age he has not yet have a serious relationship with anyone?

 

 

This township (Tenzel Outlet) always has been one of the busiest, many older celebrities started their business here and also some of the very important people lived here long time ago. Just as an example, Miss Evermind Wellwisher and Mr Jim, which construction site saw the first light here and now has become the biggest Construction Company alltogether since it joined and was bought out by Mr Thom Yorke. Its location, which we see on the picture below, is in Tenzel and cannot be missed. Thier lots are spread over several acres and Mr Yorke made it here his Mainyard of the machinery and material.

 

 

When I went to Atlas, where the army and spaceprogram bases are, I noticed that Gloryville has invaded the northern space of it already with some residential zonings. Even some agricultural civilization have entered this area, probably  because agriculture also needs a lot of room to expand together with the population.
The army base didn't really change a lot, some buildings have modernized and other are just painted, plus a very few were added as we can see on the second picture below. Just a couple of more offices and research labs were added to balance out the needs of the spaceprogram, that will soon grow a lot since the worry of Opall has calmed down.
Atlas needed some extra power three years ago, when Grand Dam wasn't always able to supply their needs and the Sirius Power Corporation wasn't yet ready to supply that much either. So they built a natural Gaz Powerstation right here in Atlas to be able to have the entire Army and Space program facilities to be completely independant from the Main supplier of power. Even some parts of Gloryville have been connected with its Atlas supplier.
Here in Atlas works Dr Nick Ranly, the General Director of the Nexis Space Corporation. He now has his own team of several hundred of scientists and Astronomers. He also was resposable for the Opall project in its last years of danger (he took Dr Joao Otavio's place after his death) and the capture of the alien probes some 12 years ago. And of course is now Number one in the department of Space Investigations , together with the Forscher I project that has been put on ice for awhile.
Dr Ranly now lives back in the Country side, where he came from, in Lichen in a beautiful Mansion with a tremendous view of the Gloryville Valley. We will get to see this much later on.
A surprize to everyone surrounding him, he got married to the most beautiful woman on Genesis, Miss Universe herself. Julie-Ann Hawklyn (the grand daughter of our famous Adley Hawklyn from the Hawklyn Valley Farms) became his beloved wife about 5 years ago, bearing his two children, Lauren (3yo) and Jarred (1yo).
One of the biggest dream of Nick is to finish the First Contact program with the civilization that Forscher one discoverd. It is also his Main project, having been working on it for the last 10 years.

 

 

 

Having reached its half a million population mark early last year, Axis South is the fouth biggest City on Genesis, after Nexis,Gloryville and Axis City, followed very closely by two more brand new cities out in the west. Because Axis South is smack in the middle of two big Citycenters, Axis City and Gloryville, it has been profiting immensely of this situation. Finance Centers and Business Headquarters have been growing steadily in Axis South, which soon will be called Oriole City, named after the Gaburan founder and will therefore also become independant from Axis City again.
Here financial Institutions,political offices and Commercial offices have been invading this city since many years, creating a lot of commercial jobs, which on its side increased the residential population in its neighboring and flourishing City of Roundlake Junction. Yes you have been reading right, Roundlake has become a City now with a population of almost a quarter million. But we get to see this only in another update.

 

 

Here is a picture of what downtown of Axis South has become to, an immense world of steel, glass and manipulated stones.

 

 

Where once beautiful villas and townhouses roamed, today are appartments and duplexes. The City of Axis South is slowly growing every day to a point probably later in the futur that it will become one with all the cities surrounding it, simply to form one Mega City.

 

 

Before we go any further to the east and see the town of Amusement, gambling and playfulness, we will talk about some other news that I have been gathering lately.
We know that today most of the famous people have left us, people such as Adley Hawklyn,MacVicar,Dr Evel (we still don't know what he was Doctor in), Mr Rilian, Miss Evermind, Mr Otavio, Mr Slayer and Mr Holmes, only to mention a few of them, but also some younger ones that were about to become celebrities have passed away in the last years and many others.
Seth Braun, the fellow that studied cybertechnics, was killed by some robbers. This was just a perfect example of being in the wrong place in the wrong time. Then Bucky Garfield, the fellow that wanted so much opening a chain of fivestar hotels, died in his sleep, when simply his heart stopped functioning only three years ago.
Mr Vallen Nexis, the richest man alive ever, died at the respectful age of 106 years old, Mr Adley Hawklyn passed away 11 years ago, so did Mr Jim and even Mr Troy Nexis, the son of Vallen and owner of the powerful Nexis Eletronics Company at an early age oy 70 years. His son Jadis is the headman of the Nexis Corporation and his daughter Lyll took the lead of the Nexis Electronics Company today, both married and have several children each. Together they are the most powerful Corporation on Genesis and Uru.
Julius Nicomedia, who openend the pharmacies chain and the labs of Medical and pharmaceutical research only died a month ago in a car accident in Gloryville. This fellow almost made it to become one of the most important Medical Researcher in the Genesian history. A big hospital in Nexis City was named after him only a week ago, the Nicomedia Memorial Hospital of Nexis City.
Only one of our older celebrities is still around, not doing much anymore, but still you can meet him here and there and say Hi to him in many different places. Mr Sven from Oxalis/Megantic and the biggest Real Estater on Genesis is still fooling around in his Financial Company on every Monday morning, although that his son and twin daughters are running the Company just fine, sometimes they wish they could rid of him, so he could  enjoy his last days, since he also reached the respectful age of 86 years old.

Now back to the region of Genesis.
Mount Megantic, the city of joy and playfulness, where you can either play your heart out in one of the Casinos or hang around on the beach all day or even visit some historical monuments and other historical buildings from Uru that were rebuilt here, piece by piece. Today Megantic/Oxalis has a population of almost 10,000, mostly all working within the touristic domains of this township.
Here Mr Sven lives alone on halfway on the hill. His wife Anke died some years ago and ever since he lives alone at the end of the winding road.

 

Megantic has some healing effects in the air and that was scientifically researched and proven by Miss Kitty Cat from Hawklyn Valley's experimental farm. It was proven that some weeds and the athmospheric environbment were causing it and that it could not be reproduced elsewhere else. Three years ago a permission to build the biggest research Medical Center ever build on Genesis was given by the Administration Office in Gloryville and only last week the decision to go ahead with the construction was confirmed. So, it will take a few years before this Center will see the day of its life.
Meanwhile you can come here and enjoy your stay in one of the many fine Hotels, the best around.

Epilog:
Some weeks ago when I was decided to end the story of *Nexis of Genesis* , I thought I could make this with one or two updates. Then when I started playing the region, getting some nice shots and started writing the ending story, I knew that it will take four to five more updates then.....Geez, now that I ended the first chapter of the ending story, I am totally lost, since I think that it will take much more to end a almost 2 year old story like this one.
So, what can I say, some of you will be pleased to know that the story will take more time to finish than planned.
This of course will hold back the Lavender story that I planned to start in december and I think won't be ready to start before the next year (2006).

I hope that you enjoyed this first final update of many to come, since the story continues for awhile.

What I still don't get is your measurement of time. Years before nexis?

What exactly is this nexis event that is so substatial that it functions as the border of BC and AD? Or is it the surprise you mentioned....

 

Also, being scientific minded, what I would like to see is a sort of table, of all the Planets in your system (in order away from Solaris), and their vital statistics. i.e., size, average distance from solaris, length of a day, length of a year, number of natural satellites, average surface temperature, etc. Think you can do that?

Mr. B, you started something with these journals of everyday life of a few select citizens, many have followed your example, Stranded could be one of them. But more importantly, you brought interest to the community between the lag in viewers that occured before the expansion pack came out, and now, you still update this pristine example of Simtropolites.

Sorry, but there will not be an update for some weeks. As most of you probably already know, I have serious Computer problems and might be forced to re-install windows to get things going again. At this moment I cannot open any game at all on my computer.

A week ago I wasn't even able to come and enter Simtropolis, but now that is fixed.

I must have caught a virus of some kind, which most of the Antivirus programs cannot find and it somehow damaged windows in a way.

Don't worry, I will not loose any of the simcity files, since all of my programs are either on harddrice D: or E: and only Drive C: is affected.

All I have to do is re-install windows and the basiv gamefiles.

Meanwhile be patient. I will be back, you bet!

Duke, there has been a statistical uipdate on all the planets somewhere in this CJ, I cannot find it right now, but there surely is one with all the details.

 

The Year * Nexis* is the year that Daight Nexis estimated for the Meteor to hit Uru and destroy it. Something of a countdown if you want it like this. The year is 0.
