mrbisonm, I envy your patience and perserverance to keep a city journal up this long. I have been gone a long time, almost a year or so, and I am in the process of catching up on this one again. When I read it I always get ideas and inspiration. ^^

I will be back with an update on thursday night, after I will go on a vacation by the Atlantic Ocean somewhere in Maine for a week or so and fill my belly with a lot of fresh lobster and other seafood....lol

Well, lets be honest; it would be kinda difficult to look at almost 90 pgs, so....

I went five by five and jumped about, to points of interest.

I can say one thing for sure; You know your terraforming! I am awed by, the natural appearance of the terrains! Sad to here about the 6 const. workers though.

I cannot give a valid rating but this is definitely a top notch CJ.

26 pictures and a long story is too much to upload at once for me, so I will do this in several shots over a couple of days, but I will do it before I leave on vacation next week, so you have something to do for the next 10 days or so.
There are so many things happening that I don't even know where to start and I am about to loose control over my CJ.....lol. Let's have a General view of what exactly we will be talking about in these updates.
-First Genesis is panicking because of the alien probes.
-Alien probe retrieved from the deep waters on Uru.
-Nexian Satelite around Verto took picture of a possible non identified object also.
-Genesian Space Station intercepted alien probe before it entered the athmosphere.
-Moose Bone downtown is built.
-Nexis City's new highway connection to the airport.
-New Administration building in Gloryville for the 100th.
-Uru is now on red alert.
-Mahoon reported invasions.
-100th Year of existance Festivity of Genesis started.
-Jason McLary is back on the testing strip with GMC (Genesis Motor Company) Vehicules.
-Timotheus moved in his new house.
-Octavius Sobchak opened his first Bowling Alley in Crater's Notch instead of Cedar Bay.
-Bucky Garfield openend his fist Hotel in Black Lake.
-Jasen Howell started his Amusement Park also.
 These are some of the subjects that we will treat during the next two to three days.

I love the trees you have in your cities and how they are placed. Did you plant them all yourself, or are they mostly random?

The industrial area makes me drool, i love how many cool buildings you create.

The CP Rail trains!! I've looked everywhere, and I STILL cant find them. Do you think you still have the install file on your PC?

I understand the reason for all the panic over the probes ... let's just hope that, while sensible precautions are of course taken, they will actually turn out not to be neccessary.

SS454, all these trees I handplop each one of them. If interested you should go see my new CJ *Lavender* , where everything was created by terraforming and plopping. (nothing random there) Its region is still under construction.
I think the CP rails can be found here on the STEx somewhere, if not PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Here is the first part of this big update.
Remember the small piece of land owned by an old farmer in the middle of the town of Moosebone that he did't want to sell for a super good price offered by the City and then later died and his children sold it?

 

Well, this is what happened to it within a few months. Only the Police Station and the Corner Appartment Block stayed and the rest was all built over. Moose Bone is changing a lot, now with GMC (Genesis Motor Company) arrived and the logging Industries even going better than ever. Immigrants come in by the dozens everyday and the town needs the services to comply.

 

 

Jason McLary, the new test Driver of GMC and who had a bad accident lately, is back on his *wheels* and as you can see here, he is test driving a new family van on the teststrip in Moosebone. Jason's health is still a little fragile since he came out of the hospital only last week, but slowly picking up and starting to work again. Since he told the owner of GMC what was wrong with the car that he had the accident with and GMC recalled all these vehicules and saved probably a lot of lifes, Jason now has his own office and a small group that works with him. Of course he also did get a solid raise.

 

 

Here is an overview of Moose Bone and it shows clearly that it has grown quite a bit.

 

 

Space Station Nexis II in the outer orbit of Genesis was alarmed when Uru discovered the small alien probe and then Genesis went on yellow alert, thinking a spy-vessel from Mahoon is about to arrive here also. So it was thought , so it happened. The Space Station contains a few *Wreckers* (small unmanned war Space vessels)and they are called Protectors I to IX. These are smaller robotic armed vessels that can intercept any size vessel and defend the outer space of Genesis quite well. And all this can be done from the Space Station itself, which is also very heavily armed and protected. Since Mahoon is suspected to have sent some spy-probes to Uru and Genesis to probably find out how well these two planets are protected against invaders, they will be in a big surprize, because these little buggers of the latest invention are truly performing perfectly and rapidly.

 

 

It wasn't long and as suspected, one of these small probes was intercepted by one of these smaller armed vessels, Protector VIII. As you can see, these little buggers are small and very well camouflaged, but cannot escape the big Eye of the Space Station.
The probe was caught and neutralized with an magnetic shockwave to make it completely out of use for the owner, and then it will be transported to the Space Station, where it will be analyzed by a qualified staff and later to Genesis Space Center in Atlas for a final analyse.
Any more of them in the area will all be intercepted as these. The Space Ststion is now at peak operation.

 

 

From Uru we received this picture today, that shows one of those miniature spy-probes crashing into the sea a few days ago. Uru does not have the same outer orbital protection as Genesis does, since with Opall crashing it soon, there was no reason for invasional protection, but now the counsel of Uru is thinking about having at least one of these Protectors in Uru's orbit, just in case another probe comes.

 

 

Right after the impact into the sea, Uru went to red alert and the airforce was right away sent to the impact to seal the whole area off. Every fighter plane was on the move, the athmosphere has become alive with planes. Panic has struck Uru!

 

 

The army and Defense Department on Uru is preparing itself for a possible attack from the Gaburans. A recommondation to the Genesian Gouvernment was rushed, to send their spy-probes to Mahoon to see what is happening there. It was even recommended that some Space fighters should be ready in space to protect both Uru and Genesis from a possible attack.

 

 

A recovery-sub was sent to the place of the alien probe's impact to retrieve it....

 

 

....and five war-ready vessels were sent into space from Genesis. They will be stationed between Mahoon and Genesis.

 

 

In the Capitol City of Uru, where still all military powers of the two planets are planned, there was a lot of dicussing and planning today. Uru is on red alert, so is the army. Both Space Stations in Uru's orbit are being re-positioned and armed and they will concentrate now of sweeping the whole solaris system for anything artificial that moves like satelites, probes and vessels of all sorts will be pinpointed from now on.

 

 

Mr Sven, the official Ambassador for Mahoon , has been back in contact with the Gaburan Emperor, but they still insist of telling that the probes did not come from them, trying to certify that the Gaburans do not have that kind of technology and attacking the Genesians and Urulians is of no interest to them . This is about when one of our younger scientists,Nick Ranly, mentioned the earlier contact with the alien vessel in the newly discovered solar system many months ago and that it was certainly not from the Gaburans oput there, butthe one here could have the same origins as the ones found on Uru and captured in Genesis' orbit. The whole idea of having found another civilization was back on the discussion table again, thanks to Nick, and heavy arguments were pushed to their limits all night on Uru and Genesis. The Rulers have been informed and all of this is now quite confusing.

We will know more about these small probes later on, once the tests have been made.

Here is another part of the big update.

Axis South, dropped to the fourth place concerning the population last month, while Nexis City and Gloryville are fighting hard for the first place. Axis South, once mayored by the famous Film Director and TV Station Owner Rico Az and before this by the Gaburan Oriole, will have its share of One hundred years of existance in 6 years only. It now has a population of 212,000 citizens. Until the Regional Administration Office in the Capitol gives the surrounding land free for construction and development, Axis South has minor problems to exspand these days. Today's Mayor is probably not the best yet to plan for the perfect futur of this City, therefore I think this will change with in the next election this fall.A younger fellow, only in his early thirties has already applied to take the place of mayoring this big City.

 

Here Clay Wallace, famous for his monthslong trip through the Ganoga Valley, has rented a small commercial store. Well, maybe not the best place to make a fortune,some say, but he wants to buy a place closer to downtown, and none within his budget were available at the time. So meanwhile this will do. There is one advantage though, this will be the first specialized Sporting goods store in Axis South. The new store will be called Wallace Sports,and he will concentrate on anything that concerns sporting accessories. Is this his dream come true?
The Sportstore owner in Grand Dam somehow felt sorry that Clay was leaving his job there as a salesman, because only his name itself brought some customers over and besides Clay is an excellent professional, when it concerns sports. Let's wish him good luck with his new store.

 

 

Another fellow that we now know well is Octavius Augustus Sobchak, who finally opened his first Bowling alley in Cedar Bay's Crater's Notch. First ?..... because he is already planning to open another one in Nexis City as soon as the funds will become available.
He chose Cedar Bay simply because of the steady growth of these two combined townships, which are mostly industrial. What could be better relaxing than having a bowling alley nearby to spend an hour after work and play a couple of shots. Industrial Labourers need to forget their stress, once they finished their day, and this Sobchak had in mind, when he built his Bowling Alley.

 

 

Only about a week after openening the quiet street became very busy with people coming to play a round of bowling on Thursday nights to cut their week and well... accidents happen, when there is a lot of traffic, like we have here, just before the doors of Sobchak's Bowling. No one got seriously hurt though.
Although Cedar Bay is mostly industrial and considered by many the Industrial Park of Nexis City, commercial buildings are now appearing more than before, with all the residential areas developping also.

 

 

Now let's stop in Black Lake for a moment and have a good look around there. The town is now, together with the east part across the lake, 21,000 strong and just about a week ago some new land has been liberated for residential development in the estern part of the town. A road connection to its nothern and southern neighbor was also made, which will help enormously the development of this part of the town, because before it was only accessible by the ferries.
Black Lake is where Elizabeth White used to live, the famous parkland Developper, that has created the Highway park in Axis City almost 75 years ago, the central Park in Gloryville and the White's Historical Park, right here in her hometown. She used to live in a small villa near the lake, which was bought by Mr Sven after her death, and where he stayed for a few years until he moved to Megantic and sold the place again. At that time the Parkland foundation had the chance to buy Miss White's home and make an touristic attraction out of it also, which now is included in the White's Parklands. That's what Black Lake actually is, a Touristic attraction and all this thanks to Miss Elizabeth White.

 

 

Just at the entrance of the town of Black Lake and near the White's parks,Bucky Garfield had this idea openeing a first in the County, a Hotel. Since the town is mostly touristic and now seems to have more and more things to visit, Bucky thought that it was a good idea to open a hotel around here to accomody the vacationers, so he did. Sick of working for someone else, he decided to go on his own, like many others of our celebrities lately.
Black Lake also opened a samll shopping Center lately, owned by the son of Adley Hawklyn, Caldwell and his sister Sarah.

 

Bad news this morning were on all the newspaper's first page. Mister Alexander MacVicar has left us at the age of a respectful 94 years. Mr MacVicar was the founder and owner of the Genesis Standard Mines, which are now fully operated by his descendants since a few years. The Mines started in Coarseville, where Alexander once had a big loos of workers and a bad luck with the mines, when a terrible earthquake destroyed most part of it, but it wasn't long before Alex was back on his feet to become only lately the second biggest enterprise on Genesis, just after the Nexis Corporation. Mr MacVicar was known for his generosity, because he has been helping financially many organizations in his long life. May he rest in Peace and be remembered for a long time.
Only 4 of the older generation are left. Mr Sven (6, Adley Hawklyn (8, Mr Jim (87) and Vallen nexis (95).

Today we will visit Nexis South again and see how far Mr Jasen Howell has come with his Amusememnt Park. I suppose in every construction there is at one time a financial problem and that is happening to Jasen also. He was just about to finish the entrance building of his new amusement park, when all of sudden he realizes, that the Roller Coaster he designed will cost quite a few

Ok, this is the last update for awhile, because tomorrow I will be gone on vacation for a week or maybe more (all depending how much I will like it overthere). I hope when I come back that this CJ isn't on page 50 or so and has been forgotten.....lol.

Genesis started celebrating its 100th year of civilized existance. The first people that came here from Uru was exactly 100 years ago in the municipality of Gloryville, where today the older part of the city is. In celebration of the 100th, the Nexis Family, Vallen and his son Troy and his daughter Lyll, plus their children Holly and Jadis and the grandchildren Defta Lee, Pfil and Veila have offered the Region of Genesis a new Regional Administration Office as a gift. Twintowers with an even bigger Office tower between them and a big plaza. The building was erected by the Brett Construction Company and it took them two years to construct.
This will be the new Gouverning building of Genesis.

 

A closer look of the plaza in front of the Administration Office. ( (Btw, did you people know that this lot available on the STEX is the first ever SC4lot that had a custom-made BATmodel in it, even way before the BAT came out?)

 

 

The old Administration Office will be given to the City of Gloryville and they will finally have a decent City Hall now.

 

 

Festivities are all over town and a spectacular fireworks is waited for later this week. Here many people are visiting and honouring the graves of the first people that landed on Genesis, the inventors, the administrators and rulers that made all this possible what we see today on Genesis possible. These people were:
Grand Ruler Orcx (first Ruler on Genesis)
General Hol Wallant (General in charge of the first robot landings on Genesis)
Ruler Saya (first elected Ruler)
Oriole (first Gaburan ambassador and first contact of an alien)
Grand Ruler Genes (the ruler that opened up the region for developments)
Col.Kronx (in charge of the landing team)
Bimmel (member of the first team on Genesis)
Dr Tyronca (member of the first team on Genesis)
Capt Furron (member of the first team on Genesis)
Mollock (member of the first team on Genesis)
Dr Funa (member of the first team on Genesis)
Prof.Roy (member of the first team on Genesis)
Dr Phlixmen (member of the first team on Genesis)
Vallen Nexis (still alive at 94 years),
 and of course the inventor of the LBST and the founder of Genesis....Daight W.Nexis, father of Vallen and all the Nexians.

 

 

A small vessel was detected by the Space-Eye on the Space Station Nexis II near Solaris, which seems to be orbiting it. The vessel with the scientists in outer orbit waiting for instructions and a team of soldiers were send into that direction right away together with two armed warvessels. It will take them a little over a month to reach it.
Mahoon garanteed today that they have nothing to do with these small probes and they even opened the doors of Mahoon again for the Nexians to come and see a probe that they have found in their seas also.
The doubt of the rulers that the Gaburans are all behind this is slowly dying out. A team of scientists was sent to Mahoon.
Allan Saporro was nominated today as the first orchestra Director of Genesis that is younger than 25 years old. Who would have thought of this? Allan will continue though his studies , but also direct his new orchestra in Tenzel Outlet.

Many congratulations on Nexis' 100 year jubileum! Great update as usual MrBisonm; have a small question though: are those skyscrapers grown or plopped? I'm running into 'problems' growing them; although my plugin folder is stuffed with almost any skyscraper there is (growable versions), only a limited number are showing up, while demand is great. How do you deal with this? It can't be the size of the zones, because they change automatically when a larger building is constructed... Could be traffic, but i have the radical version of the NAM installed, good mass transit, etc.

utora, I'd say, there is only between 50 and 60% of the Hi-Risers that grow by themselves and the others are plopped to give it more of a City-like look. I do have the NAM of course, not the radical one though, and I also have the commercial and industrial amplifier mod.

You have to know though that I use a money cheat sometimes,a ploppable park that gives me 25,000
