    It only takes about a day or two and if no one comments, to fall back to the fourth page nowadays, with all the new CJ's thriving and getting updated so quickly. Not too bad anyways....2.gif

    Here is  a small update:
    Some folks said that it was about to happen and it did. Holmes Security finally has become the federal police and a new Main office in Nexis City is planned. Every town and City now has to start their own police departments and smaller communities will have a county sherrif, all independant from other townships, but all professionally guided by the Holmes Security Offices.
    Another event was the official opening of a new township out in the west. Cross Canyon has become an independant municipality, all that because of the MacVicar family that opened another iron ore industry in this part of Genesis.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//1Cross%20Canyon-View.jpg align=baseline>

    Situated on a highland surrounded by a river canyon, the little town of Cross Canyon didn't take long to grow. Most of the folks here are working in the New MacVicar Mines factory down in the valley. Only some farmers were here first, land that was almost given away by the Regional Administration Office in Gloryville to encourage further farming, needed very badly on Genesis.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//2Cross%20CanyonMedview.jpg align=baseline>

    The MacVicar family finally has done it. Some new partners of this Mega-Corporation were chosen, simply because the Company has become to big for only a few to handle. It will continue its name of Genesis Standard Mining Corporation and of course the name of MacVicar also stays. Alexander's son Vladimir, who has most of the control over this Corporation decided so, since his father is not able to help him out anymore, now aged at 94 years old. Besides some minor Alzheimer problems since his wife's death, don't really help the situation neither. Alexander does not leave much his home in Skinner.
    The MacVicar firm has now enlarged again by building a new factory out west in Cross Canyon. This factory is almost as big as the first in Coarseville, but a lot more modern, hiring 7,000 workers. It means that the MacVicar is hiring in all more than 12,000 workers, meaning 2,000 more than the Nexis Corporation. I suppose the demand for iron, steel and other metals is very good.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//3Cross%20Canyon-Factory.jpg align=baseline>

    The village is new and only very few commercial services have installed themselves in this little community. But things look great, with a lot of demands for residential lots. If everyone who has a job here in the MacVicar factory will come to Cross Canyon to live, the town will soon have more than a 15,000 population.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//4Cross%20Canyon-village.jpg align=baseline>

    If you can't figure out where Cross Canyon is or forgot where it is, look it up here:

    After a few weeks thinking over the immense offer that he received for his rock-collection exposed in the Bolton College, Lane Wallace decided to sell it, now that he is married and wants to start his own little business, which surely will be easier with this amount of money as a base.

    Jason McLary finally got out of his coma and right away he talked to the owner of the GM Company about the carproblem that he knew of. It was a balljoint problem that couldn't hold the stress of the high speed in curves. GMC will call back all the latest models with the same balljoints and will replace them with more solid ones right away. Thanks to Jason, GMC probably stopped a futur big disasterous problem just in time.
    All medical bills will be paid by the Company, the owners announced to Jasen and good care will be taken with the best Doctors around to get him back on his feet soon. A Specialist was flown in from Uru to take care of Mr McLary.

    Yesterday was THE day for Shane Boxx, who undertook his first Commercial airline practical flight to another region. *It was as close to heaven as I will ever get*, he explained happily to the media after his arrival back in White Sands. But even a more of a surprise awaited him at the return-airport, when a representative of the biggest Airlines on Uru asked him to join his Company after his learning courses, once the new airport in Nexis City is finished. What a surprise!

    And the last news on Genesis is that Julius Nicomedia married his girlfriend Julia in Gloryville, not really a surprise to many. Julius is about to open his reseach Center and we will be there of course.

    Another update will follow late sunday or monday and then we will visit the new amusement park in Nexis City. Enjoy.2.gif

    Your small towns really are the greatest! Very few CJs feature such mastery.44.gif

        I really should count how often did I use the thumb when commenting this CJ. . .

    Looks good, but when will you make an updated version of the region map? In the one you have now there is nothing but the highway in Cross Canyon, and you can get rid of the grand box in Grand Falls.

    I personally think it's too early to have the regional map updated, since within the next 4 or 5 updates , a lot of new townships will be created and some changes to others (harbour in Axis,Airport in Nexis etc). Then I will update the map and it'll be worth it.

    cowcorn, you will love the village in a futur update, I think that will be the best one yet...lol....although I personally love Round Lake Junction and Black Lake.

    Leech10, why don't you like that box in Grand Falls?21.gif

    Have a nice weekend2.gif

    Nice update, curious about the amusement park; keep it up, and... you're right: there are a lot of excellent journals at the moment which are being frequently updated, it seems the City Journals section is thriving at the moment!

    Just a short update again, I gad some free time early this morning, while waiting for my wife to wake up.....21.gif

    As I said before, Jasen Howell bought himself some land out in Nexis City South from a farmer, to open his amusememnt park. Once that was published, the young Octavius Augustus Sobnd also to start construction, although he had some savings stuffed away. He has been drawing and inventing and re-drawing and re-inventing his Roller Coaster for many years, chak got interested in his project and made contact with Jasen to discuss maybe some business deals with him. What exactly it was about I don't really know yet. Jasen had to take out a loan to buy the farm aand now the time has come for his dream to come true, no matter what. Already he received the permit fom the City Hall in Nexis City to start the construction, but because of the accident earlier this month, where 6 workers were killed by falling off the bridge, all constructions on Genesis are on hold more or less, until the new law about construction security is out. Everything is slower than normal.

    5Nexis%20South-View.jpg

    We can see here that bulldozers are starting to level the land and gravel is brought in to make a solid ground foundation. The farm itself will be demolished later and only one problem with this is, that the septic tank (upper right on picture) still contains liquid manure and which has to be gotten rid of first, and that by respecting environmental laws. That could be expensive, since the liquid has to be shipped by tankertrucks to other farm communities. The only other farm here in Nexis South is already abandoned and sold to a construction Company which is planning to build some appartments there.

    6Nexis%20South-AmusementConstr.jpg

    Horatio Utora's new girlfriend from Uru (the rich politician's daughter) surprisingly moved in with Horatio this week and they seem to be happy for the moment. Horatio has started to write his novel, leaving notes all over the place in his appartment. He surly thinks that it will be a number one success.

    Forscher one, the probe that was send to the other solar system , will reach the outer asteroid belt of this system in about 2 weeks, taking a lot of pictures from all what surrounds this system that could hold new life and maybe another civilization. Nick Ranly has been on the project with his boss Dr Greem, for the last two months and was surprised that it became his job to announce publically the new findings of Forscher1. Very shy and I'd say he even had a bloodrush in his face, Nick opened the Media conference to announce some news from the probe this morning. Not bad for a first....lol...and he even liked it.

    Octavius Augustus Sobchak ( we will call him simply Sobchak from now on) was approached by the Regional Administration Office in Gloryville to organize some of the festivities  for the 100th of Genesis' existance. Man, was he ever happy and glad. He kept his seriousness to show his professionolism while talking to the Rulers and the Festival committee, but once out of the Gouvernment building he just collapsed into immense joy and happiness and couldn't help yelling it out for a second on Mainstreet, which of course did not get unnoticed. This might be the push into the *big world* that he needed. Btw, he did not sleep very well that night and we surely understand why.

    We will be back on Monday/Tuesday with some news from the Axis Harbour and have a look at the RHF Construction Company that Thom Yorke is about to start. Also we visit Tenzel Outlet to see how Allan Sapporo's first concert went and finally talk with Daniel Henderson that is about to make Jim's Construction Company some competition, and that with Jim's help. Have a nice weekend now.2.gif

    Looks good, I can't wait for the amusement park to be finished! About the box, it just looks weird because it is almost the size of a skyscraper.

    Just a smallupdate. Thanks for the interest in this CJ, which still seems to be going, and thanks for the comments.

    Daniel Henderson opened his construction Company last week, when he said good-bye to the Jim's Construction ltd, where he worked for the last 4 years. *It will rough in the beginning, but I think I can make it on my own* ,he said to the journalist of White Sands.
    Daniel bought a vacant lot to build his warehouse later and an older house, which he transformed into an office. It ain't much and maybe not good looking either, but for the moment it will have to do, since he doesn't have much money yet in invest in bigger and newer buildings. The Gloryville Industrial Park in White Sands was chosen for the same reason, less taxes to pay and less valued land, meaning a lot cheaper buy.

    1White%20Sands-view.jpg

    Here you can see the older building transformed into an office and the lot that was fenced in for the moment, until sufficient money is raised to build a hangar or a shed. Daniel hired a young student from Bolton to help him with his first contracts in Nexis City, some small commercial stores.
    Now agerd at only 23 years, Henderson is determined to make his Company a success and already he is dreaming of openeing another one in the near futur. Daniel also decided to go back to college and get his architectural degree, which surly will help him with his newly founded Company. He will be attending nightcourses.

    It was confirmed this morning that Chad Benson's girlfriend is pregnant. Chad will be a father soon. Chad's father offered him a firstclass job in his company, the Benson Aircrafts Inc, but Chad as usual refused thankfully and told his father, that he can do it on his own and is not much interested in aircrafts right now. Chad's younger brother Rob is already working for his father's Industry. Right away after, Chad went into the town of Bolton to find a lot to his liking, where he wants to open a small electronic store, where he wants to sell tv's and all sorts of electronical stuff. His girlfriend, which is a buisinessman's daughter is willing to help him financially and enter the businessworld together with him.

    That's it again, I will be back tomorrow with some news from the Axis harbour.2.gif
