There was this one game called conquest (PC) in which u rolled dice, captured land, and added soldiers every day. It sucked because 1. the AI sometimes did A: player 2 goes to capture land. player 3 (with a big ass army) decides to send 2 men kill the 2 men that captured the land. player 2 captured the land with 3 soldiers. player3 kills the 2 soldiers with 4 and captures land. player 4 dies due to unknown causes18.gifPlayer 1 has like 1 billion soldiers cause he sat there and only claimed 2.gifjapan41.gif (see the loop now...)

The worst game ever would be Ford Racing 1 for the Playstation 1 and T3 Rise of the Machines for the PS2 I owned both of them at one time.I give them a 6 out of a 100,000,000.29.gif

Simpsons Skateboarding is a good game, but I have to use cheats because the characters a quite hard to control.

Another game I like is Futurama, the only games I don't like is those that are slow and the graphics are not as good as the other games and the gameplay is not that long.

Most recent worst game ever, Rise of Nations.
quote>

But the game did what it was supposed to do, make a 'connection' between RTS and TBS games
And it sure is much better than aoe games

That the game doesn't have walls is one of the better part of the game, I would hate to see this game with walls. AFAIK there's a mod to this game that includes walls, I have no idea how 'great' it is though
And you mention that you don't like the cap; You know it's very easy to mod this so there's no cap (or at least set the cap to 999 instead), but again I like this in the game. If you have a cap then the game is not about getting the highest number of units as in most RTS games, but instead it's about using your units the best way possible (of course the game is not some tactical game so it doesn't go too far either)

And what's wrong with attrition and city assimilation? How could you make this better in an RTS game? The game is supposed to be finished in a few hours, so if you make city assimilation be too complicated and take too long it'll take a too long time to finish a game (most people don't like MP games to last more than 90 minutes). And the purpose it has is that you can't just attack all cities quickly after each other since newly taken cities are more easy to take back for the enemy. If you just leave the city to attack another one you'll sure lose the city again. Of course if you're playing against an too easy enemy they probably wont try to take it back, which renders the feature pointless
And I'd say attrition is done well in this game. It has a huge effect on your units, so if you're not careful your units will die quickly

And I could go on with the rest of the points too, but I don't want to continiue with the threadjack. It's not like I'll be able to change your mind anyway

To get back on topic:
One of the worst games I've ever played I have to mention a game called American Dream. The game itself was about building a fastfood franchise (sp?). Not really a new idea, but who cares about that. The problem with the game was the ordering system, you manually had to order the food yourself, but you couldn't just order say 500 units of whatever you need, you could only click on buttons that said like 1 unit, 5 units, 10 units or something like that. The problem was that they sold the food faster than I could click on the buttons. And this was in the beginning of the game where I had the smallest fastfood restaurant you could get. There was not much point in getting any larger restaurants since I couldn't order any faster (oh, and this was on the slowest setting) 22.gif

Big Rigs? WTF? Bad, bad, bad... My best advice to you would be to stay away from everything that shouts 'Big Rigs.'

*Ahem*

There's some forumns running around with 'boys' squabbling about Halo 2 being the worst game ever... and I quote...

Clickie

Some meaning 85% who are real video gamers that play other games besides halo 1 and 2 and know the meaning of a good or bad game. The 15% are just Halo fanboys non- video gamers that pretend to know video games but don't so they call a average game like halo the best ever cause they don't play anything else.

I haven't played either so I can't say much - but this is a good example of how things can get out of hand should the moderators of the forumns just... not care anymore.

Perhaps this is a a paralell-universe representation of Simtropolis if our brilliant moderators didn't run the show?

Revert your eyes children, that forumn link is very twisted... very... very twisted...

Oh my goodness, Big Rigs is so crappy, I understand why the guy wanted to be run over. 3.gif

Actually, some of these glitches are pretty cool, but reversing in an endless circle, not to mention mountain-climbing, which would be impossible in real life. 17.gif

I'd love to see Big Rigs just to see how bad it actually is, but I'm not going to pay for it

The worst game ever award has to go to the game Heritage of the kings, a.k.a. The Settlers V. The game itself is just a standard game ala AoE (except worse, but it has lot incommon), but the thing that makes me vote for this game as the worst ever is because of it's name. I mean I love The Settlers I and II, III and IV was ok, but V has NOTHING incommon with any Settlers game:
- The Settlers has always been cartoonish, but V is realistic
- The Settlers has always had goods visibly moved from point A to B, while V just has the standard RTS rule where goods just appears in the stats, but never visible in the game
- The Settlers has always had stone and wood to build houses, but in V there's many more types of goods required to build houses while they don't have any differences (and doesn't really make it more realistic)
- The Settlers has always had gold/iron/coal mines in the mountains, V doesn't really use mountains like that
- The Settlers has always had someone to search for minerals in the mountains so you'd know where to build a mine, V just has the few possible mines visible during the game
- The Settlers has always been dynamic where you could choose out of almost unlimited options where to build the buildings, in V most buildings only has very few places to be built

I could go on forever, but I guess I'd better hold now...

I'm still waiting for the sequel to The Settlers II 7.gif

Off topic:

For Settlers II fans: I've heard there's an unofficial XP in the making for the game. Some fans decided to add some missing features to the game. But since they don't have the source code it's diffecult to do what they want to do, I have no idea how they're trying to do it

IIRC they want to add a better trade system and MP among other features
AFAIK this XP will be in German though

And I have no idea when it's planned to be done, I don't have the link to their site anymore

Big Rigs obviously wins worst game ever, but the worst game I've ever actually played...

In no particular order:

Digs: I bought this a year ago, it was something about an archeological dig in outer space. Seemed quite interesting. I was met with the sort of graphics I used to think were cutting edge when I used to play my Commedor 64. Rubbish. Threw it away.
Mall Tycoon/Ski Resort Tycoon: Rubbish. Utter rubbish. Cashing in on the Tycoon name (although I liked Rollercoaster, Railroad, Trasnport and Monopoly Tycoon).
Black & White: Given the hype it had received I was expecting more. What I got was an annoying game during which I had to do what the villages told me to do. Even though I was God. Booooring.

Agreed. Here's the worst game I've ever played: Overlord (a game for NES). If you've ever played Gemfire (a great game), Overlord is like that. The differences being it's planet-based rather than feudal-system-based, and it's way too tough. Last time I checked on GameFAQs (a couple years ago), they had one FAQ for it, and it basically said they didn't know how to get past a certain point in the game, because the computer player always seems to do everything faster than you possibly can.

Oh man, did Final Fantasy VIII stink. Your party is railroaded from place to place with little chance for exploration, the main character's gun/sword weapon is a stretch to put it mildly (i.e. stupid), the main character is a brooding, obnoxious twit, and when you finally do get the ability to explore, it's in a building that somehow has the ability to levitate off the ground and creep around ( 42.gif ).

This is not what an RPG is supposed to be.

And I have another game that should be nominated as the worst game ever at least... it sure is the worst adventure game ever

Anyone here played Lula 3D? No? Good for you, you didn't miss anything interesting. This game breaks all rules of what makes an adventure game at least playable:

First of all it's 3D (3rd person), and since it's a poor company who made it, the graphics are awful. This part is not important but still adds to the overall gaming experience
Because the game is in 3D it open up the possibility to make larger maps than normal 2D adventure games... unfortunatly they also used this new possibility, so walking from one part of the map (for each round) takes a long time. Sure they included a run option (not activated by default, but at least I found it before I started the game), but that doesn't help much since she only runs very little faster than when she walks
Because of the above problem I had to read a walkthrough completely for one specific round. This was a map where only very few active objects, but a distance between these objects that is longer than most rounds. After running through the map to see where these objects are located I quickly realized that if I made a small mistake (read: went to a wrong location at the wrong time) that would take several minutes just for the running part before I realized I should go in the opposite direction. Since I at that time already was tired of this game I decided to read the walkthrough to avoid mistakes
In many of the levels it required you to go to far away point 1 to get an item, get back to where you where, then go back to that point again and then back again, and then etc etc etc... 90% of the time wasted on the game was wasted on running instead of actually thinking about the puzzles
Oh, and the puzzles wasn't exactly thinking puzzles but more like the typical find object A, use it at location B, then talk to a person puzzles... Here the 3D part of the game starts to annoy because when walking around and stands infront of an active object a text is displayed on the screen... or at least it's supposed to, but often it fails so you end up missing important objects the first couple of time you walk by
Also as I said the default view is 3rd person, but you can activate 1st person in the game (by pressing space). This helps a lot because (a) Often objects are hidden behind the character, only viewable in 1st person and (b) the character is one hell of an ugly character unless you likes blonde white girls with clothes that puts prostitutes to shame... the problem here is that every time you do something (except walking) it goes back to 3rd person view
I could go on forever, but I guess it's time to stop, I've already lost most (if not all) people who started reading this

But at least if the story was just a little bit interesting some of the problems in the game could have been overlooked, but story is probably the most boring story ever

ADG, that sound pretty annoyingly boring... I feel sorry for you for even picking it up.

FF8 - Ahh! Annoying - I liked the storyline but the charecters needed work and the whole Squal='I don't care' thing was too heartless. Exploring is miserably lame too, you could walk from A-B looking like a ghost, get attacked by eiree monsters and start walking again.

I loved FF7 - That was magical - becuase it had some sort of scope - you could go from Midgar to that port on the same island miles away after you think you've halfway completed... You were given a mode of transportation as soon as you left Midgar and got into the Chocobo ranch!! With 8 we're stuck on one puny University area with walking and riding trains you were stuck in until you had beaten Timber. Don't get me wrong though - FF8's cut-scenes were gorgeous, but FF7 beat 8 by miles with the great story AND cutscenes.

But... what I hated with all FF's is that if you didn't have pateince... your powers sucked.

My two cents... And rant... complete...

I remember a PSX game caled Um Jammer Lammy... It sucked. Just because that kind of Idea of a game is just tedious, and, after you've played it for even five minutes, boring and aggrivating.

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

Shonobi is the wrost game ever becuase. When it was about to come all the Mags and online sites said that Shinobi would revulotionize gaming becuase of its stylish play and advances controls and then when it came out everyone gave it 8.0 and 7.5 and really they were just covering their butt becuase they gave a crapy game all this free publiticy about how good it was and then it sucked. Now the reasons why it sucked. All you need to do was Slash Slash Jump Walk on walls. Oh look theres a ditch and you fell in it. Your in a city and theres a bottomless pit and theres more then one, they are ever 5 feet, I mean where are the City Inspectors? Then as you go on theres no damn checkpoints so you have to do the same annoying crap over and over.

Ha Ha look and be amazed at how sucky this game is:

    Shaq Fu

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Shaq Fu was a fighting video game released on the Sega Genesis , Sega Gamegear , Super Nintendo , and Nintendo Gameboy game platforms. It was later ported to the Amiga platform. The game was published by Electronic Arts (developed by the now-defunct Delphine Software ) and it featured famous basketball player, Shaquille O'Neal as a playable character.

In the game's storyline, Shaquille O'Neal wanders into a dojo while heading to a charity basketball game in Japan and stumbles into another dimension, where he is forced to rescue a young boy named Nezu from the evil mummy Sett-Ra.

Shaq Fu is often called the worst video game of all time. The reasons for this are mainly concentrated in two areas: the terrible Hit-Detection System, and the inclusion of Shaquille O'Neal . Because of this, the game has been given almost mythical status, and is a must for any video game collector. Fortunately for collectors, the game was well marketed and may be found at local video game merchants that sell used games.

The Hit-Detection System on the game is notorious for being extremely frustrating. The HDS is known to only allow hits that occur in the direct center of each character. Battles, therefore, usually take up all the time alloted.

I gonna have to go ahead and agree with littletuck. Shaq Fu is, and will forever be, the worst game of all time. I'm not going to repeat the reasons, since littletuck did a wonderful job listing them all, with links. however I will add that even for a genesis/snes game the graphics and framerate was ridiculous.

I dissagree about FFVIII, which happens to be my second favorite Final Fantasy (FFV being first), simply for the GF (Guardian Forces) system. not only did it have an immense list of summons, the junctioning allowed for more versitility in characters' abilities, and leveling up of summons. the only down fall was the draw magic, which made magic more like an item than an ability. FFVIII was slightly used as a basis for FF Ten (I use 10 because some people can't get over their roman numeral X hangup), in which the summons did level up, but only able to be used by one person, which limited the game's potential. also 10 was much more linear than 8, in the fact that you are at the end of the game before you get the airship (not much better than the floating building), and are finally able to explore missed areas. the worst Final Fantasy game however is clearly the britney spears-esque Final Fantasy TEN-2 ( I refuse to call it X-2 for reasons previously stated), which is the farthest from a FF game for obvious reasons *cough* dresssphereandstupidpistolsinabattle *cough*.

I apologize for this digression. 35.gif
