So there's a thread asking us on my playing style... I've been doing some u-drive it missions (because one of my cities is out of money)... I usually drive along the sideway, GTA IV style. Helps me dodge the traffic and get to my objectives fast. Thankfully we can't run over pedestrains or destory curb-side scenery.. I'm wondering if anyone else does this same tactic, or if they have their own techique. I've noticed that some players drive "realistically" when they're driving for a video, tour, etc. Blah, screw the cars, drive as a fast as possible and hope your car doesn't get totalled! teehee

Yeah, I already went with a college. Besides, the university had attendance at around 1000 or so. A college could teach that many people - while using less space. The deal is stuck, so to say.

So this is my problem. I have a city on a small tile, pop around 98,000 and rising, my income is just below expensives, and I have a large university that is blocking around $500-1000 worth of taxes from new devolopements (which just happens to be the size of my budget gap). I'm concidering "relocating" (aka demoing) the university and replacing it with the city college and some high density res or commerial zoning. The attendence at the university is under 1000 students, and it hasn't risen much with my city's explosive population growth. It seems that the university is a waste of land when there's more cost effective options. The question I have is: does the university do a better job at raising my city's EQ , or is the city college a better investment in terms of EQ to land use? I'm pretty sure you all understood that.

When I first heard that these two satellites were American and Russian, my first thought was "Ah! The Space wars have begun!" I just find it real interesting that we have so many satellites up in orbit today. And hearing that the ISS can do "evasive maneuvers" made me LOL.

Thnx. The subway station I have was supposed to have a capacity of 5000, but yet ingame it says only a capacity of 5! Weird glitch? Although I tried out the on-road bus stations, they block road access to the adjacent lots! *****

I've been building in my new region, and I've been using a mixture of highways, roads/avenues, commuter rail and buses. I have two downloaded mass transit stations, one an on-road bus stop and the other a bus/subway combo station. However, they only have a capacity for 5-10 sims (compared to the normal Maxis bus stop, at 1000 sims, and the Maxis train station, at 2000 sims). Obviously, with a city that has 50,000+ sims per small city tile, the stations basically light up on the traffic data view like Rubolph's nose. What I'm wondering is, do mass transit stations that go over capacity actually increase travel times? I'm especially wondering about bus stops, because the official guide says they don't create traffic (at least on the road, which is why they're awesome). I do believe in god, but I don't believe in creationism. Although, I wonder, what made the big bang (or other way the universe started, if it isn't infinite occur? That's up to science to find out. I find it hypocritical that some atheists who think believing in god is such a "bad thing" or "totally blind faith", and that rational thought is superior or "smarter". Yet, they think theists "push dogma down peoples' throats", or other such things. I do prefer rational thought and its methods, but yet, we can't always use the scientific method at every moment of our lives. Do you think I need to use the scientific method when I'm going to drive a car, just to make sure it will work? (Although for that, we can take our cars into an inspection, yay!). I think arguing over creationism and evolution is wasteful and unproductive. There are more important things to focus on improving in our society, our world and the way we live our lives. Personally, I believe god is interwoven in the very fabric of the universe. Basically, god=universe. This is a commonly held belief at the church I go to (and the amazing youth group I am a part of). There are some other subjects about god that I am undecided on (such as "divine order", or "all good, all powerful", yet we live a imperfect universe, at least in a subjective, sometimes narcissistic perspective). One thing About SC5 is it needs to be like other games the flocus on the same area. SC4 is great, but it 'anit no Civ 4. The Sim City games are like an Empire Building RTS. So Cim City should try to be some Empire Building RTS that does 95% or more right. From this Starting point, give ideas how SC5 can be as great (or greater than) Civ 4.

I've been using my PowerMac as a Musical instrument with Garage Band. Garage band rocks! Also I've used my PowerMac as a MI since I learned how to use Garage band.
