Here is just another village out of the Jeffrey500 plant. Another farming community. On the verge of two small rivers. The name Dwaalbeek relates to the river north of the image which flows in the Meijbeek just northwest of this picture. The Meijbeek itself is one of the Aar tribuary's which is flowing into the sea.

This is Karlsklause, a small city between the sea and the mountains where time has stood still over the last 100 years. I think I should add a few modern buildings every now and then, but other than that, I think it turned out OK. Hope you like it. Click to enlarge (1366x1400).

This makes no economical sense at all. The property value must be enormous out there.

A lot of resources are being wasted. Expect legal intervention in the future. Possibly on a federal level.

This is one of the best topic I've seen. I hope It comes out profitable. A big smile from me when I saw it. In fact, it DOES open new horizons. Little towns up in hard to get hills? What about little towns in the middle of a large amounts of farms? OFC @CorinaMarie has shown on that, but still...

Cori the Sim worked hard for years while taking educational correspondence courses. She later moved up the social economic ladder to medium wealth and moved into that brick house across the street. Much later (and after much more studying) she climbed that ladder once again finally achieving high wealth status. Cori moved away from her home island and took a job as the CEO of a large commercial office building. Saving her Simoleons thru four generations she amassed such great capital reserves she then bought the isle itself. (Money does have its advantages.)

Adding in a much needed water supply (for delightful bubble baths and such) she then had the Prestige Palace built and now lives there happily while overseeing all operations at the nearby medical clinic. (Yes, I modded it to eliminate the jobs bug.) The remaining wooded area is a nature preserve filled with frolicking animals.

The ferry owner is doing much better financially since there are 9 passengers per day now. That will likely increase as new residential development is taking place across the water and there are some unfilled jobs here locally.

I made a small town to get back into the groove of things after like... uh, years, actually. It needs a lot of work, the layout could have been better and less gridlike, and well uh, the center of the town should have been shifted upwards, but hey, overall it could have been worse. 

I'll do better next time I promise. @.@

Hiya and welcome to Simtropolis!

That's a nice, realistic looking town. Gridlike is true to the real world for small towns and the center part of older cities so there's nothing wrong with that. The CBD doesn't have to been in the dead center either. Real towns grow based on the available land as well as when larger parcels are subdivided based on when owners decide to sell. In this case of Hattie Town there is a significantly deep canyon to the south and so the town simply couldn't grow that direction.

Near the edge of the world nestled in a valley, is the small town of Gardenville.  Many Sims grow their own food. There's also a couple of factories and a single, small store for shopping.
