Blast from the past.   Northwest Peyton Place (Peyton County)  .  First stretch of 4-lane roadway in this small town to accommodate for its' then expanding business corridor (circa 1954)

I love the tiny town and the humble population of 12.  Looking forward to watching the growth.

That's as big as it'll get. It happened to be where a neighbor connection came thru and I didn't want just a road stub. I'm sending power along the rail line bridge and then using open grass area to transfer it down to the tiny town.

Lol. I do the exact same thing for connecting to neighboring cities when a small area is inbetween much larger cities.   Cool how you utilized that tiny connector  ????

Another old pic I found in this dusty old trunk in the attic. It must have been what Peyton Place looked like back in its early days when it was mostly farmland

Peyton Place Time Capsule.  The small town's newest high school opened its doors to 500 local students and 1300 total students bussed from nearby New Troy. Stepford Island and Jericho

The campus is abandoned today after doors closed for the last time June 3 1983

The eastern side of Heartland, my favorite (slightly larger) small agricultural town. (I could wax poetic about it for hours.) Around 3,600 ppl. (Was smaller, around 2,500, but some recent low-end mid-R was added.)

Reminds me of my childhood... it's as if you averaged together the town I grew up in and the slightly larger county seat the next town over.

To the left you can see the Farmers' Market, TD Bank, House of Worship, and above that, across from a police station & a fire station, is their Small Country School (combined elementary & HS), the Burlington Library, and another church. Up top is a nice array of small stores, facing the avenue. Behind them is a park green with a subway stop to take you into the city the next town over. To the right you can see the edge of the community swimming pool, catty-corner to a health clinic. (I'm not sure if I'm keeping the bright buildings on the right near the Small Chapel.) It even has a dinner theater!

And, of course, the Tractor Supply. Because it's not really a (slightly larger) small town without one. :)

I might post pics of the western side of town, and some of the interesting parts of the farmland surrounding it (and the industry that goes along with it) later. (Edit: I posted a closeup of the City College & Ag Tech Institute from the southern border of town in the closeup thread. https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/10781-show-us-your-citys-detailclose-ups/?page=28&tab=comments#comment-1690508 if you want to check it out.)

Here is my latest work.
Langenfurt, a fictional, old city.
Located somewhere in the middle of Europe where time has (almost) stopped.

Enclosed by a city wall and criss-crossed by channels fed by a small river outside the city walls.

Small farms and villages are located, as well as the monastery, outside the city walls.

I avoided traffic and technology as best I could.

Maybe you like Langenfurt ...........
Greetings wolf
