Hey Buddybud,

I was wondering what the chances are of getting our hands on a beta version of all this stuff (especially the highway on/off ramps tunnel portals) as I the city I'm building at the moment I'm designing with these lots in mind, and well... I'd love to get it to all work together so I can start a CJ and showcase your creations.

regards

LK

    i decided to test a more extensive system today....thought id share the pathing results

    below is the area i built.

    the road to the upper left is a ring road that maintains a non tunnel conection....it is also the longest route and in theory should not be used by the sims.

    stillwaiting21ay9.jpg

    the area is broken into three industrial zones.....

    1.is a direct route. we want the sims to go the long way round. up the road to the avenue and back across the highway....

    2. is the most challenging section for the sims...it requires the sims to take a weaving multiple portal road route to get to their location...

    3. requires the sims to use the highway...

    stillwaiting26wd6.jpg

    here is the paths that travel through portals that we want the sims to follow to work..

    stillwaiting28ag9.jpg

    these are pieces required to build the system

    green=portals

    blue=director lots

    red=eycandy sunken conduits

    stillwaiting27wu3.jpg

    test for area one

    stillwaiting24pc3.jpg

    test for area two

    stillwaiting23zt5.jpg

    test for area three.....

    stillwaiting22vg0.jpg

    and the same area with the conduits removed....more of a tunnel feel to system..

    essentially this is all to show the extent that these pieces can be used. but also how many pieces are needed to fully realize what im doing...but its coming along...

    cheers

    remember this....

    00001newJeronij07.jpg

    wll i applied the same technology to sunken highways with elevated overpasses....take a look

    ubberportal01jo0.jpg

    and with a highspeed train

    ubberportal02zs0.jpg

    heres how its done...its essentially an uber highway portal.....needs a bit of work ;P

    ubberportal03dl1.jpg

    edit...the automata will dissappear as it passes under the bridge as usual

    suhweet! that looks amazing, and im already drooling over the possibility that you are expanding the best eyecandy set in SC4. too bad about the automata disapearing, maybe if somehow swamper were feeling super generous he'd help you with that like he did with Blahdy on the big dig 2.0 ramps. say...whatever happened to your partner ship with Blahdy?

    keep up the amazing work! 4.gif

    I've slipped in and out of this thread a few times. What can I say?!! Absolutly incredible. The basis of this stuff has been needed for a long time but i don't think any of us not even you could have predicted how far it would come. Can't wait for the release.

    I've been lurking around this thread for a while, but haven't posted for some reason. weird... 22.gif

    First I want to say that the work you're doing with underpasses is fantastic.

    Second, I have a question about your rural sunken highway walls. I downloaded the set (all of 'em), but for some reason, they don't show up in my power menu, or any menu for that matter. I tried with and without the MML, still nothing. Am I the only person who's had this problem, and is is fixable? Never mind, I found the problem.

    Holy motherfu**

    Can you make a more urban style of these lots (aka downtown stuff other than the Big Dig)?

    Hey there buddybud. Great work your doing. I know you got a lot on your plate, but I was messing around today and found an opportunity for you to expand your rural highway wall set. Something that should be simple, but when you get to thinking about it, it really isn't. 3.gif

    I'll start with the pictures:

    Hatterson-Apr-4.jpg

    Hatterson-Apr-5.jpg

    Hatterson-Apr-6.jpg

    Hatterson-Apr-7.jpg

    Now, with the new NAM on ramps, 2 new possibilities open up. You can have them on one side like I did here, or on both sides. As you can see, the problem with having it on one side is that the fences block the cars, and theres a big open gap among other things. Problem with having it on both sides is basically the same. Now, I'm sure pieces for this would be far from easy to make, but probably quite fun to think of, until you realize what you've gotten yourself into.

    Anyway, just an idea, be nice if you'd make em though. 2.gif

    I hate to steal a tiny bit of the thunder here, but I thought it was the most appropriate place.

    That's real, guys - and there's no retaining wall lots on either side.  The train is actually 10 meters below grade.  This is just 1, 1x6 open cut lot, connected on the ends to an upcoming puzzle piece (which will not be in the new NAM, unfortunately).  The only defect is that the ground plane occasionally covers up the train - toggling underground mode fixes it.

    Hey buddybud been lurkin in your thread for a while and wanted to say that youre doing a hell of a job and ur walls are widely used in my CJ i was able to play around with it and got some lovely results, I love your split highway underpasses and i need them badly. If you need any testers I would love to be one of them, my region consists of split highways and I would love to test your stuff out on them. One other thing hows that split highway transition going? If you can make that im sure you can make a split highway curve piece so the split highway can finally curve and such now that would be amazing!!! Keep it up man!
