Hi there, im new here....so i hope i posted this in the right thread...

Anyways i was hoping all you knowledgable sim addicts could point me to any overhanging lots that can be place next to bridges and overlap...giving the impression of life underbriges....below are some examples using pegasus sets and marrast embankment set.....it would be nice to see something dedicated to this....if i can figure out the editors maybe ill do it...

if there are others please point them out to me ...thanx

That's all Ive found as well. Looks like we think alike. It would be nice if someone created some more lots just for this purpose.

I like what you have done with the industrial kits ~ thanks for the ideas. Here is what I did with PEG's rtk3 kit.

Wow, I never though of using PEG's sets like that, I kinda feel stupid now for not trying that out myself.  I really don't know of any other lots that are over hanging like that but I bet if you look it on the STEX you will find it.

well i tried to play with the lot editor and had my first success.. I live in Ottawa which has a canal running through it and quite a few bridges over it and was inspired.....i took an oppie thin canal piece and extended the prop to overhang...and it worked hurray....37.gif<ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//New%20City-Mar.%201,%2000961150998%20copy.jpg align=baseline>

I will continue to play with LE and see if i can do some park stuff and alley stuff for under bridges....thanx for the responses so far

@ MasterPlanMan: Wow, that city is awesome. I really like the placement of the Golden Gate Brg.

Is this part of your CJ? If that's the case, I'm sorry that I've yet to look at it.

But yeah, I think everyone else answered the question perfectly.
So, no more from me on this topic. 18.gif

Buddybud: Nice work. Can you think you can do the same thing but for a residential low-rise and mid-rise area. I think that would be a great innovation to have the possibilit

    Hi Buddybud,

I read all the replies, but I cannot decipher what is used to make the industrial eye candy under the bridge in you original first two pictures.

Can any one point me in the right direction? It is not the Marrast Embankment set that is mentioned also in this page.

Maybe off topic but I like the way you have made a out-of use railroad track in the following image:
    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//industry%20GLR.JPG align=baseline>

Did you use GLR? I have no experience in GLR so I cannot differentiate one from normal rail road.

no...not GLR...been thinking along those lines though...punny...now its purly a one by one lot with overhanging rail props....i made the strait ones but found the curved one from a japaneese site....thats where i got the idea...heres a screeny...the nice thing about overhanging props is you can place them over other stuff...like the farm roads and alley ways....the bad thing is they are not slope conforming...so work well only on perfectly flat land

    Looking good buddybud!!!

This is a cool thread so far!

Here are some subtle shots of what I did with the Marrast embankments under and around some of my rail lines:

love your ideas master....city is awsome....
a note to whomever moderates this thread....maybe it should be moved to bat development...since thats what im now attempting to do...43.gif

i finished a diagnal piece for avenues....and a possible way to deal with slopes...though it requires an empty tile next to each sloped track7.gif
and another possible use for this stuff....i've always wanted to string hydro wires through industrial areas...but they dissapear if you develop under
    them.....so...underwire scenery...44.gifheres some screenies....

    After

    slope and hydro

hope im not posting to much but im really having fun35.gif
plus maybe i can encourage others noobs like myself to develope some ideas......never know it could happen
anyways any feedback is much appreciated....cheers

Thanx Diablo...i plan on it but i want to do it right....whatever that is lol....heres a refinement of my kinda slope conforming under railbridge industrial area tarraced thingys....i think it might work though i want to work on the model and add some variation to the different bits...the lods on this were the worst part to figure out...but i finally worked it out.....feeling better about bat18.gif...
