  1. Revelstoke

Agreed Hal - Another fine update. One of the most realistic aspects of Revelstoke is the way you organize the commercial within the residential - very real, and very Calgary-like You have a very real, natural layout of the city and everything looks well together and blends nicely. Hell, everything is great as always. On a side note - I think I finally know why that logo seems familiar. Is it the logo for the World Skills competition here in Calgary next year?
  2. Hahaha I know, I know. I've obviously been a fan of Simtropolis for quite some time now, but have always lost interest in the game (due to playing it too much =P) or been side-tracked by other things and have been taken away from it. A lot has happened in the past 4 years - I have become a legal adult, and am now almost done my first stretch of my post-secondary education! Anyways.. The "HUD" or "Heads-Up Display" is the part of a screen in most video games where all the information is displayed - things like the map, news scroller, ordinances tab, building tabs, etc.. I couldn't remember the proper name for it in SC, so I just used the general term HUD =D
  3. I believe with the Radical Ordinance mod you need to go into the ordinances in the financial part of the HUD and actually "turn on" each demand. If you check your ordinance sheet you will see things like "Increase CO$$ Demand" and stuff. I haven't used this mod (nor have I played the game) for quite some time but I seem to recall that being the way it operates. Good luck.
  4. The New Urban City (Smart Growth)

Awesome! Thanks for the far-out picture. Looking great.
  5. The New Urban City (Smart Growth)

This is looking great so far! Your downtown area looks very realistic with the office buildings settling into condos and apartments and such, and your new close-up shots of other residential areas look great! Can we see a far out shot again please? Pretty pretty please??? Keep up the good work
  6. Best City Skyline

I'd have to go with my hometown... Calgary. Calgary and Vancouver are similar in many ways - Vancouver has the oceanfront and Calgary has the riverfront(s). I really love how the city can look so different from all the different angles. Anyways, here's a picture I took from my school campus (SAIT). It's a large file, but not the best quality. I have a pretty old camera, and had to stitch a series of pictures together. http://www.trentononline.net/photography/SAIT/september/panoramic_004.jpg
  7. Los Angeles California

I just discovered this CJ and it's pretty incredible. I've only been to LA a few times, but your screenshots are seeming very familiar. Great job so far! Any chance we can get a full region shot?
  8. Revelstoke

And again I am impressed. Your future city eh? We should talk via PM or something, you seem like an interesting guy haha. Anyways, onto your update.. I can't get over the amazing realism your CJ displays. The layout of the city, the lakes, the residential areas, and the way the commercial areas are arranged are all perfect! Even though I know the city is fictional, the fact that you're using names of areas in Calgary really make it feel like home, it's weird haha. I'm about 30 seconds away from Nose Hill Drive here. Enough rambling though, all I can say is great work and keep it coming!
  9. SimCity 4 in Wide Screen Mode

Wow, thank you very much. I have just returned to SC4 and Simtropolis after months of not playing (maybe even a year or two?) and a lot has changed... I am now on a dual-monitor setup with my main monitor being a 22" widescreen. I just tested the game out on a 1680x1050 resolution and it looks great! Now I must re-DL all my favourite BATs and mods. Thanks for the tip!
  10. Revelstoke

Wow... I've finally returned to the Simtropolis community after a few years - and the first CJ I stumble over is this one. Incredible work, I must say. Fellow Canadian here - I'm from Calgary actually. I'm liking all the Canadian references, and love see things from Calgary (Deerfoot Trail, Arbour Lake, Citadel, and Scenic Acres Boulevard... I live in Scenic Acres, right off the blvd!). Have you been here or did you just check out the names of areas? Keep up the awesome work. I have definitely found something that will keep me involved in the community for a while again
  11. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

eeew, gross, make up your mind! lol Thats a pretty interesting round-a-bout, and I like how you actually made it round
  12. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

Those are real awesome, mactech. I will be trying that in my city
  13. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

Hmm, that looks pretty cool. I'm gonna try that some day.
  14. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

Hmm, it seems like this post is gonna fall off the first page. I hate posting with no true reason, but hopefully some of you genious's have some more stuff to show us
  15. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

I've made many cities from a certain transportation network that I built before I actually started zoning and everything, but after a little while, I find I stop following the network, and build stuff as I feel. But, I am going to try making a city with a central roundabout. IMO, I think it is one of the nicest things to centralize a network
