Middle Tenne: And a Little Island Will Lead Them

Our first venture west into the province of Middle Tenne brings us to a small island. Located just north of Cherohala, Blue Raider Island is a nature preserve and hunting ground overseen by the national park system. When one surveys the bounty of game on this small island, it is no surprise that this island is an extremely popular hunting spot. This, the first chapter from Middle Tenne, takes us farther west in mainland Schulmania than we have visited thus far. Our lead in to the heart of Tenne begins with this small island.

Welcome to Blue Raider Island! The Visitor Center for this little charmer is located in central Cherohala. There, one can arrange for a ferry to the island (round trip cost – 3 purrs) and purchase a hunting permit (cost – 7 purrs). Of course, assorted trifles and thingamajigs are available for purchase as well. So, without further ado, let’s pounce on this featured island.

If I get it right, sign to Diamond Resort says to go right in the 4th roundabout, though the text says 1st left. Reminds me of my confusion with signage the one time I'v e driven in the States (California). And I thought we had supreme roundaboutitis here in Denmark.

Very pretty island... and neat fauna, particularly the giraffes. Even though I have placed wild animals in certain parts of Ellis Valley, I never see them, even in the rural areas....

Unassigned The most supreme roundabout I have ever seen is in Swindon, UK. Now, THIS is a monster:

Benedict The wild animals always seem to disappear very quickly. The Sims must be very efficient hunters. What I do to capture them is use the cheat to unlock the God Mode once the flora is done and put them back in again. And then take the pictures before they disappear again.

OK folks, here’s a little food for thought:

True story: the sign does NOT lie. The bush next to the sign housed a black tailed rattlesnake who had just started on a nice lunch of fresh squirrel right before we arrived. Three park rangers with Discovery Channel level snake catching equipment stood at the ready. It must have been Snake Appreciation Day over at Montezuma Castle, as the rangers said it was the third one of the afternoon to have to be removed from the walking trail.

File photo of our snake friend, since he was under the bush and could not get a good picture of him. But, we could hear the rattle. That sound is nature’s way of saying “Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!!!!!”

Admiral Islands: Chocowinity

Located on Chocowinity Island, the town of the same name is the only one in the Admiral Islands not on New Hestorbia. Most of the northern islands are part of the Admiral Islands National Park. This small fishing village is best known for the extensive fossil beds uncovered during the town’s construction. The town hall features a surprisingly extensive fossil collection in the lobby. Hobbyists are welcome to dig for fossils around the island. And they can keep what the find. But, if it is something cool, the authorities reserve the right to buy it off of you. For a good price, of course.

There’s no telling what cool fossils are under these animals. Well, actually, there’s no telling how those animals got on this island. Horses are not good swimmers… perhaps they sell equine water wings somewhere…

The island of Chocowinity is small, hosting just one village. Its grassy hills concelal an amazing variety of fossils. A recent find, bones of an ancient glowing dino cat, named Aurora Wirdialis.

The port is small but efficient. The café inside the terminal sells “Honk if you <3 Fossils” bumper stickers. They don’t sell too well… no one knows what a bumper is and only the geese honk.

Admiral Circle features a statue of Admiral Hestorb. I think someone spiked the punch when they were paving the street.

Security is provided by a naval outpost. About 200 sailors are stationed here, on detachment from a base on New Hestorbia.

Chapelwinity is the town’s house of worship and is adjacent to the fossil beds.
