Four years ago I was selling meat out of the back of a truck...

The Supreme Wirdle would likely have taken a liking to me even then, what with all those chompables!

    Part One: Expansion

Chancellor Mooky, Field Marshal of the Schulmania National Military, is currently on Gran Maru, conducting a troop review. The island is home base to the III Corps 5th Division. Governor Cawale has been training her two regiments and now has them battle ready. At her request, Mooky has arrived to preside over a commissioning ceremony.

    cat-at-granmaru.jpg

Field Marshal Mooky pauses briefly while reviewing the new troops.

Mooky has a lot on his mind. He has been reviewing military maps and is concerned about huge expanses of Schulminion territory left completely unguarded. Doing so will open up Schulmania to being outflanked at any number of positions. The area of greatest concern is the southern frontier. Other than a small castle erected south of Campo di Carmelcciase, the southern border is completely unprotected. The unincorporated feline hunting ranges south of Fisk Point have not been claimed by Schulmania and are unorganized feral feline habitats. A move by Queensferry to avoid our coastal defenses by invading from the south would be a disaster. He has been advocating a massive annexation of lands south of the Supreme Wirdle's original line of demarcation. The Supreme Wirdle has been reluctant to do this, fearing not only stretching her nascent military too thin, but also major administrative hassles from trying to manage huge tracts of sparsely populated land. Able leaders are at a premium at the moment; she is loathe to send off a contingent of her best to organize a new land.

    mooky.jpg

In the ancient capital of Wirt, Major General Neyland left his office and walked two blocks to Wirtyplace. He was going to try and convince her of the same thing Mooky has been saying for weeks now.

The Supreme Wirdle shared their concerns about a southern invasion and consulted with Princess Katherine, since her realm of Wirdleonia would be most impacted by a territorial annexation and military buildup. She and her command staff would review every option to determine a course of action which would buffer Schulmania without diluting her defenses.

    serving-katie.jpg

Princess Katie enjoys the luxurious life in Robinia while she awaits word from the Supreme Wirdle.

When the word from Wirtyplace finally arrived in Robinia, it was certainly unexpected. And the messenger was also quite unanticipated. The ruling was delivered personally by Bureau of Feline Affairs Governor-General H. J. Franciflora. The news he brought was startling, but not completely unexpected. Anyone who knows the Supreme Wirdle knows that she is a bold and visionary leader.

    Hoppy_State_Portrait.jpg

If the Governor-General, one of the highest ranking felines in the nation, was coming to deliver news in person, two things are certain: the news is secret and the news is big.

    DistCapt_Palace2.jpg

The news rocked the palace and opens up a huge new set of unknowns, many of which will center on this southern city and the region she leads.

The Supreme Wirdle's decision is for annexation of not just a southern buffer zone, but all southern lands Schulminon forces could effectively patrol. The Bureau of Feline Affairs Military Command has been ordered to abandon positions in the interior, turning them over to army regulars, and reposition forces across the southern border of Wirdleonia, spanning from Schulmanukau in the west to Maxis City in the east. Six divisions (23rd-28th) of the XI, XII and XIII Corps will simultaneously advance south across the line at Fisk Point and fan out over the unorganized territory, claiming it for Schulmania. The orders authorize an advance as far as possible, even to the end of the continent. The objective: locate a natural defensive perimeter for the feline heartland and fortify it. Governor-General H. J. Franciflora will head up the operation from Robinia, where he will lead the XII Corps southward.

    operationmorris.jpg

Military forces will march south armed, but do not expect any resistance. After all, the land is sparsely populated by Schulmania's feral cousins. The border has never had any controls over it and felines pass freely between Schulmania and unclaimed territory.

    deployment.jpg

General Chat de Neuf-vives of the XI Corps is quartering his troops in Schulmanukau. He is excited to have as an addition to his southwestern task force three companies from Schulmauckland who have been providing security and training at the Wirdle's Canine Council office in town.

    WCC.jpg

One of the tallest buildings in town, the WCC Building serves as the headquarters for the Wirdle's Canine Council, the representative of the canine population in Schulmania and the canine international outreach organization. The site was selected by Ambassador W. P. Schonheit of Schulmauckland.

    command1-1.jpg

The eastern command center at Maxis AFB is where troops of the XIII Corps will depart. General Norman Schwarzkatze will use balloon squads to survey and claim land faster.

The Supreme Wirdle's concerns about taking too much territory to effectively defend or govern will be addressed by annexing a buffer zone to the south and beyond that, a Bureau of Feline Affairs dependency will be established to administer the surplus territory. Queen Vera, Chancellor Mooky's wife and matriarch of the ruling dynasty of Schulmania, will depart Schulmania for the new territory and serve as its ruler and liaison to the Schulminion government and the Bureau of Feline Affairs.

Let's see what lies in the area currently beyond Schulmania's southern boundary. We will first check in with the XI Corps, heading south from Schulmanukau. It is known that the course of the mighty Wirdleonia River is rather windy and cuts a steep gorge through some areas. So, we can now see for the first time what sailors in and out of Schulmanukau deal with as they play the river.

Our first views of the area south of Schulmania are of the Wirdleonia River Gorge. This section is particularly rocky and steeply slopes on both sides. It looks treacherous, but ships pass through well thanks to a deep river bottom and swift and steady currents. Of course, it is not a great place for a port.

    a001-1.jpg

The river south of Devonport, Schulmanukau's ferry terminal.

    a002-1.jpg

    a003-1.jpg

    a004-1.jpg

    a005.jpg

    a006.jpg

    a007.jpg

The river as it passes through this tile into the one east of it. This is the tile south of the South Wirdleonia tile. On the map, look for the area off the map south of Hestorbia to get an idea where we are.

Let's see where the XII Corps has ventured. W head farther south and east to see lands south of the river never seen by Schulminions before. The area is occupied by non-domiciled feral felines who welcome Schulmania's presence but has not been explored by the Wirdle's minions before.

    a008.jpg

Plenty of rolling hills and mountains can be seen all around this part of the continent. The previously shown segment of the Wirdleonia River is at top right.

    a009.jpg

Massive mountains appear bald without trees on their summits.

    a010.jpg

Rolling hills provide a much different terrain than the plains of Wirdleonia.

Further on, the character of the river changes yet again. The elevation is lower and the banks of the river are quite marshy. There's a wider floodplain which provides one of the most extensive marshy areas in Schulmania. The only larger wetlands known at present are on Marsh Island and at Pawprint Lake. Let's see this swampy area up close and personal.

    sw001.jpg

    sw002.jpg

    sw003.jpg

    sw004.jpg

    sw005.jpg

    sw006.jpg

    sw007.jpg

    sw008.jpg

    sw009.jpg

I'll bet this swampy riverbank is pretty stinky.

Whether on the plains, I the piedmont or in the mountains, the vast Wirdleonian expanse has one commonality: excellent game. Ever since the first Schulminion foray into Wirdleonia, the feline population has been exhilarated and fully sated by hunting the big game animals in the region. Let's see how the hunt is doing today.

    h001.jpg

    h002.jpg

    h003.jpg

    h004.jpg

    h005.jpg

Look at all of those tasty animals! Yum!

This realm south of the border will be annexed and controlled by Schulmania to serve as a defensive buffer. The lands immediately south of Schulmania will be directly incorporated into the Regency of Wirdleonia but farther south, below the mountains, it is too far from Schulmania proper to effectively maintain, at least with current technology and methods. So, the balance of the continent will be divided in two parts. The northern sector will be annexed by Schulmania and a new state will be created to be operated as a dependency of the Bureau of Feline affairs as a trust territory for the non-domiciled felines. This new territory will be incorporated as the Protectorate of Harar. The full name is The Bureau of Feline Affairs Royal Protectorate of Harar, or Harar for short. Queen Vera, matriarch of the royal family and longtime advocate for feral residents, has accepted Governor-General H. J. "Hoppy" Franciflora's offer to lead this new territory. As there are no cities in this expansive land, the provisional capital will be the Bureau of Feline Affairs office in Robinia. A suitable site will be selected for a permanent capital to suit her majesty.

    vera-francis.jpg

Queen Vera (left) receiving a blessing from St. Francis (right) after having accepted the role as ruler of Harar.

Taking on a vast new and unorganized territory will necessitate a major change in the operating structure of the Bureau of Feline Affairs. The BFA's council has been hard at work developing a new organizational structure to effectively manage its new core functions: feline affairs in Schulmania, governing Harar, international feline affairs, and military operations in conjunction with Schulmania. The BFA will also operate military outposts in Harar to protect its citizens from potential attack from Queensferry.

Many will be eager to see more of these new southern lands and to hear more about the development of Harar. Harar will be featured in its own Simtropolis City Journal to be found exclusively in the new section and on the Schulmania website, www.schulmania.info. The protectorate's saga will unfold slowly, intermittently as time allows. It may be referenced in Schulmania stories from time to time as well as perhaps having story elements overlap. The debut of Harar on Simtropolis will come before the end of October 2010, with sporadic updates which will each be announced in the Schulmania threads.

Looks good! Any leeches in the marsh? River's very rocky in that one area, though. Reminds me of the stone lined creek on 17 at the Arrowhead Golf Course, only natural... and with darker stones.

    Part Two: Friendsville

Were you fooled too? Many observers did not give a second thought to a large number of 'technical advisers' arriving in Robinia to assist with the Feline Simlympiad either. But, if one things about it, why would so many technical support personnel be needed when the sports infrastructure was already in place?

    NeylandStadium3.jpg

Neyland Stadium, located along the scenic north shore of the Wirdleonia River, is by far the largest sports facility in the nation. There is certainly no need for technical aid with this architectural gem.

Instead, the consultants and advisers were hustled off to a site in eastern Tenne to work on a secret project. Development plans for the new national capital have been stalled due to the war, but a site south of the future capital has been abuzz with activity. And, not just any activity. Something very new and different is coming to Schulmania. In order for Schulmania to capitalize on its foreign relationships and to develop more international connections, the nation needs some sort of locale for international businesses and diplomacy to develop. And so, in the lands south of the Tenne River delta, a new international city is springing up. Friendsville will be the new center of international commerce and diplomacy, home to Schulmania's diplomatic offices and the embassies or consulates of friendly states.

A new city is not a novel idea. But in Schulmania, this international city will be novel in many ways. In order to get international guests to this locale deep in the nation's interior, new transportation options need to be available. With the assistance of technical advisers from friendly feline states, world class transit will be standard in Friendsville. But, lest this technological bonanza upset the natural order of Schulminion life, strict controls will be placed on Friendsville to ensure that high tech items don't spread unnecessarily across the nation. The primary concern is the use of vehicles, which, though much faster than traditional transit options, are deplored by the Supreme Wirdle. Much of the feline population fears the new transportation vehicles and for that reason, their use is restricted to foreign nationals and Friendsville residents.

And now, the newest and most modern city in Schulmania, Friendsville.

    Friendsville.gif                                           Friendsville-flag.gif

The arms and flag of Friendsville show a field of crowns, representing Schulmania's many friends, with a diagonal band, representing the seas once separating Schulmania from its friends.

SPECIAL NOTE*: If you are a Schulmania regular, you will need to make sure you are seated when viewing this, as the shock may be overwhelming.

*Disclaimer: Schulmania cannot assume responsibility if you faint, so be sure to be seated.

Now that you have braced yourselves, let's see the international city of Friendsville.

    arrival-1.jpg

Arriving by sea, Friendsville does not seem very different than your typical Schulminion town. But, the differences will quickly become apparent.

    airport.jpg

But, one can also arrive at Friendsville/East Tenne International Airport.

Now, how's THAT for a surprise? The Blitkarni technical advisers suggested that an airport would be essential in establishing communication and commerce with our international friends. And with a location so far in the interior, our allies would be hard-pressed to spend the several weeks necessary for transit from the east coast to the new city. Three foreign owned planes currently visit the airport. There is one daily flight to Schulmauckland, one to Terra Canis and one to Maxis AFB in East Wirdleonia. Surely with time the number of flights and perhaps the airport itself will be expanded to meet demand.

Should one arrive by sea, the ferry terminal is one end of Supreme Wirdle Boulevard, which terminates at Diplomacy Square, home of the Diplomatic Office and Bureau of Feline Affairs Diplomatic Office.

    boulevard.jpg

Supreme Wirdle Boulevard is the first vehicular road in Schulmania. To accommodate foreigners used to motor vehicles, a shipment of vehicles was sent from our allies. They are restricted to use within the boundaries of Friendsville, since no roads exist to other cities from there and vehicles are unknown elsewhere in the nation. Their appearance would certainly upset the general public. The grand avenue is lined with columns and flags from the port to the square. The grand edifice housing the Diplomatic Office looks out over this singular public space.

The centerpiece of the international city is Diplomacy Square. This grassy park-like space houses the Diplomatic Office Building and the Bureau of Feline Affairs Diplomatic Office right behind it. In addition, the Chapel of New Borath is available for all to use.

    diplomacysquare1.jpg

The Bureau of Feline Affairs building is at the left, the Diplomatic Office at right. The chapel is at the bottom of the image. The view is from the east.

    chapel1-1.jpg

The chapel fronts Archduke Bower Park, featuring a lovely statue of the Archduke of Schulmanicus and a lovely view of the sea.

    diplomacysquare2.jpg

Another view of Diplomacy Square, this one looking north. The Bureau of Feline Affairs faces us and the southern end of Supreme Wirdle Boulevard can be seen at the top center of the picture.

On the south side of the square, several important buildings complete the governmental presence in Friendsville. The far southwest of town houses the airport, Friendsville/East Tenne International (FEI). Nearby are the Guest House, where visiting dignitaries stay, and the Reception Hall, where foreign dignitaries are received by the Supreme Wirdle or her designees. It would seem to be odd to have so many important buildings close to an airport, but the prestige factor of being close to the first such facility more than makes up for some occasional noise.

    guesthouse.jpg

Perhaps you will stay here sometime? This is the Government of Schulmania's official guest house. The first guests are coming soon, Governor Cawale of Atkinos and Fleet Captain Splunt, Grand Duke of East Atkinos. They are due to arrive for the weekend and will inaugurate the new facility.

    receptionhall.jpg

The Schulmania Reception Hall is an imposing structure filled with grand spaces for receiving foreign diplomats and their entourages. A ballroom, dining hall, and several gilded parlors await those who come to come to seek an audience with the Supreme Wirdle or her regal designee.

Let's explore the business and residential quarter, which includes some residences for Schulminions and foreigners as well as a few consulates and embassies. Please recall that only those nations fulfilling the terms spelled out by the Diplomatic Office on its homepage are eligible to full diplomatic relations and an embassy presence. Nations without full relations (a status only grantable by the Supreme Wirdle or Governor-General Franciflora) may maintain a consular presence or have a national interest office at an established embassy.

    boulevard2.jpg

    boulevard3.jpg

Supreme Wirdle Boulevard is lined with flags and columns, but the action takes place in a largely homogenous medium density building style seen in several places in small amounts. But, the massing of such structures to create an effect has given this style a name suitable for its location, the Capital Style. Capital style businesses house high-end boutiques, tony shops and offices for status-seeking companies.

    cityscape1.jpg

On the Tenne Sea coast, residents of Whisker Terrace enjoy a stunning view of the sea and the waterfront Archduke Bower Park. Are you interested in an apartment here? Only 5 schulmonetas a month. Just complete the application and you can live in splendor!

    whiskerterrace.jpg

    cityscape2.jpg

Just look at that location! Whisker Terrace is perfectly site for the international diplomat or the international businesscat.

    cityscape3.jpg

Fine eateries abound. Here we see a Tweety's Cat Café on one side of the corner. There's a Neko Sushi Bar on the other corner. Across the street is Mama Adela's Chicken & More. Hungry yet?

    cityscape4.jpg

A vibrant new world class shopping and entertainment district is taking shape. Shop at Señora Fashionista's or Sisal Furniture Gallery. Maybe a night out on the town? How about the Wascawwy Wabbit Comedy Club or the Clawtastic Dance Club? There's more options here for our foreign visitors than in any other city we have ever built!

Bridges across the Tenne River are being built to link the new city to the future capital site on the north shore. But, for the time being, ferries shuttle on the hour between Friendsville and Knoxvegas. Frequent service upriver and on the Tenne Sea are available at the port.

    cityscape5.jpg

At the northern end of Supreme Wirdle Boulevard, ferries connect this pocket of international life with Schulmania proper.

    cityscape6.jpg

As impressive as this cityscape is, Friendsville's main purpose is to serve as Schulmania's international gateway. And, to do that, a greater international presence is required.

To satisfy the town's mandate to be our international portal, more than Schulmania's diplomatic offices need to be present. Embassies will be provided to nations establishing full diplomatic relations and consulate to those with limited relations and/or trade agreements. Signatories of the Coronation Accord in good standing and members of the Wirdle's Canine Council have been given the first opportunity to select sites for embassies. The nations whose presence will be seen first in Friendsville are: Schulmauckland (WCC), Terra Canis (WCC), Blitkarni Rebellion (FIFA), New Carpathia (FIFA, successor state to Nekominkoku), Milton Bay (FIFA). Several other embassy sites have been built and are awaiting designation.

    BlitkarniEmbassy.jpg

The Blitkarni embassy is a tall and rectilinear building. It blends in well with the city, despite its more modern appearance.

    CarpathiaEmbassy.jpg

The New Carpathian embassy is next door to the Blitkarni and features distinctive green copper corner towers.

    MiltonBayEmbassy.jpg

The Milton Bay embassy occupies a prominent spot opposite of Diplomacy Square.

    SchulmaucklandEmbassy.jpg

The Schulmauckland Embassy occupies a prominent corner not far from Diplomacy Square.

    TerraCanisEmbassy.jpg

The Terra Canis embassy's large dome and twin fountains are standouts in the diplomatic quarter.

For those nations without embassies but do have some sort of intergovernmental relationship, the Consular Castle houses offices for consulates and attachés.

    Castle-of-Consulates.jpg

The Consular Castle can house up to 30 nations in its luxurious office suites. The first consulate established is that of the Kingdom of San Marino [not the republic in Europe - it's an old Simtropolis CJ promised to be among the first to have relations was back in 2007].

By now, you may have gotten used to seeing a few vehicles out on the roads of Friendsville. This unusual aspect of city life (unusual for Schulmania, anyway) is just one of the innovations for this international enclave. Blitkarni technical advisers and consultants from Schulmauckland have helped Schulminion architects and engineers develop massive new buildings to house offices and residences for a diverse group of foreign nationals coming to call Friendsville home.

    tenne-licenseplate1-verdana28text.jpg

Perhaps you will see some of these new license plates on the cars around Friendsville... And, in case you were wondering, that's a real Tennessee license plate design. I did not make it up... honest! All I did was take off a few letters in the state name and the word "arts" from the purple saxophone flow [music?] and there you have it. Can't say I have seen these on the road, but they are legitimate. Say, want one? I will make you a personalized Tenne license plate and post it if you tell me what you'd like on it. About 7 characters max and of course something suitable.

Now to see some of the massive new structures built with the technical assistance of our trusted allies. Most residences are very large apartments but still in a familiar Schulminion stone style. But, some offices feature a modern glass look. This startling difference was proposed for the international enclave to give it a world class appearance. It is unknown if Schulmania proper will have any interest in tall glassy buildings.

    residentialtower1.jpg

Smaller Schulmania-scale buildings for natives are nestled in amongst massive stone towers constructed to house the foreign workers and their families. Accommodations for potentially thousands of foreigners has been built.

Even though motorized vehicles have been imported from allied states to provide transit for foreigners, their use has not been great. The city is, as are most Schulminion cities, quite compact and easily walkable. With no roads leading to other towns (at the moment, anyway), air pollution from vehicle use is unlikely to be a big concern.

    residentialtower2.jpg

The Delta Bridge is the original 'bridge to nowhere' as it spans the Tenne River delta toward the new capital site. But, for the moment, the site is mostly grading and infrastructure. Senior diplomats will be housed at Robinia Tower, a luxury apartment building along the riverfront with stunning views of the water and the national park.

    residentialtower3.jpg

Almost all of the apartments have views of the river or the ocean. It should be a great place for our guests.

Perhaps the biggest shock of all in this update is the glittering, towering Feline Corporate Center. Designed by our international friends and built by Schulminion contractors, this novel landmark stands alone as the first truly internationally designed structure in the nation. It houses offices for many Schulminion companies doing business internationally as well as international firms seeking to do business with Schulmania.

    glasstower1.jpg

Nothing like this exists in Schulmania. Its appearance will be a shock to Schulminions visiting for the first time. No doubt it comes as a surprise to you as well.

    Didn't see that coming!

I attempted to talk Maylay into taking residence on Whisker Terrace. She insisted that abodes with such stunning views would only be wasted on a feline with her limited vision. After her routine suture removal tomorrow evening, I expect she will make her way back to Schulmania to continue her duties. She is quite excited to make the trip more quickly this time by arriving via Friendsville/East Tenne International Airport. I have prepared her as best I can of the fact that Friendsville should be a bit noisier than the rest of Schulmania... what with all that traffic.

Part Three: Klingons Off the Port Bow

In the far southwest of Schulmania, beyond Schulmanukau and beyond the Forks of the Wirdleonia River lies an area only recently opened to settlement. This remote area was declared off limits for some time now. The Supreme Wirdle's decree did not give a reason, but it was obeyed without question. Now that the order has been lifted, two small settlements have been built, Dadatoetoe and Wirdlington. And, a port has been built on the sea whose presence has been known only by a few in Schulmania's inner circle but whose presence has now been officially recognized. Let's see the new space never seen before.

The District of Schulmauckland is due west of Western Wirdleonia. The crescent shaped district is most noteworthy for the freshwater sea occupying most of the boundaries. There is a large island in the sea within the district. It is this special island we will find out more about during this update. Before we head to sea, let's see the two small agricultural communities in the extreme southwest.

    farming01.jpg

The civic and commercial heart of Dadatoetoe; the town hall is at right and the local inn and watering hole, The Wagging Tail Inn, is at left.

    farming02.jpg

The Church of the Kay Mart is best known for its fabulous custom stained glass windows... the original "blue light special".

    farming03.jpg

Farmer Juan Moore Chance has a lovely stone home and a fishing pond. He's one of the several hundred pioneering residents in the area.

    farming04.jpg

Wirdlington's white wooden church is a charming contrast to the stone church in Dadatoetoe. It sits on the main road, the one connecting the port to the town and to all points east.

    farming05.jpg

This remote area is mostly small farms. A mild climate with plenty of rain allows for many things to grow... including an array of ornamental flowers.

    farming06.jpg

The civic heart of the area is Robinia Square, the highest density development in the district. It is at the edge of Wirdlington, abutting the border with Western Wirdleonia. Many of the residents here are employed in the maintenance and operation of the new Forks of the Wirdleonia National Park, located between here and Schulmanukau.

    farming07.jpg

Farmer Homer's Sweet Sweet Honey is made right here at the bee farm (is there like some sort of official name for these places?), Saturday Night Hive.

    Here's another of his products...

    farming08.jpg

The Woolf Farmer's Market does a brisk business. You can buy everything from alfalfa to zucchini.

    farming10.jpg

This might be just the right spot to start a catnip farm.

    farming11.jpg

Wondering where the Klingons could be? Not here. This update seems a bit misleading.

    farming12.jpg

Any Klingon warrior worth his blood wine will tell you that there's no glory in flowers and no operas sung about cabbages... so where are the Klingons?

    farming13.jpg

Although there may be glory in defeating a big corn maze...

    farming14.jpg

We can go hang out at the gazebo over at Wirty Pond or go find the Klingons. I say let's find some Klingons.

    farming09.jpg

So, off we go to the first port on the new sea. The Sea of Simtropolis is our newest southwestern border. It has been unavailable for residents until now. Why? It has to do with the Klingons and the large island in the sea.

Schulmania has had a longstanding relationship with the Klingon Empire. This relationship began long ago with a chance encounter of a hunting expedition led by the Supreme Wirdle with a big game hunting party led by Kahless the Unforgettable. The two groups swapped hunting stories and impressed one another with their hunting skills on the plains of South Wirdleonia before the area was developed. Kahless was so impressed with the Supreme Wirdle's prowess with claws that he modeled the original bat'leth on the curvature of her claws.

    batleth.jpg

The bat'leth (or, "sword of honor") is the best known Klingon weapon and serves as a reminder of the mutual regard between the Klingons and Schulmania.

Upon its introduction to general Klingon society, the Supreme Wirdle was invited to the Klingon capital as a guest on honor. She fell asleep one toasty afternoon and found herself transported to Kronos.

    wirty-aerialview.jpg

In a rare image, the much younger Supreme Wirdle is seen crossing the floor of the Klingon Great Hall to participate in the hallowed Klingon Tea Ceremony.

Since this momentous occasion, one new and permanent connection has been established between the two realms. This one has been also under the radar for Schulmania, but of great importance to the Klingons, who have not forgotten Kahless' admiration of the Supreme Wirdle's warrior ways.

So, what is this connection between the felines and the warriors of the Klingon Empire? It all has to do with one of the Klingon core beliefs. The Way of the Warrior, the lifestyle and culture popularized by Kahless, honor is valued above all else. And, when the honored dead leave this world they go to Stovokor, the eternal realm of the honored Klingons. The dishonored ones are sent on the Barge of the Dead to Grethor. So, it is certainly preferable to go to Stovokor. As the Supreme Wirdle got to now the Klingons, she offered to reserve a remote spot to serve as the physical location for Stovokor. And she would reserve the privacy of the place by limiting settlement in the area.

But, now, with the Klingon enclave well established, the Supreme Wirdle and the Klingon High Council have agreed to allow it to be seen from a distance. However, only honored Klingons and other honored warriors are allowed to land on this large island. And now, let's see Stovokor!

    stovokor1.jpg

The honored dead arrive here. And, if a dishonored Klingon arrives, they are sent out on the Barge of the Dead. The Great Hall of Kahless is there for the warriors to meet and eat and drink.

    stovokor2.jpg

The Great Hall is where the warriors go for merriment at the end of the day. What do they do all day? Fight each other in glorious battles.

    stovokor3.jpg

Follow the Way of the Warrior to the Sanctuary of Kahless.

    stovokor4.jpg

The sanctuary is a great place to hear speeches by Kahless and attend ceremonies about glory and honor. And also it serves as a great site for Klingon opera.

    stovokor5.jpg

Today's opera is Aktuh and Maylota.

Atop one of the other steep hills on the island is the Warriors' Column of Honor. This monument is a gift from Schulmania to the Klingon Empire, celebrating the connection made between the Supreme Wirdle and Kahless many years ago.

    stovokor6.jpg

The Supreme Wirdle commissioned the Column and presented it to the Klingon High Council.

    stovokor7.jpg

The figure at the top is solid 24K gold... a little something from the Supreme Wirdle's vault.

    stovokor8.jpg

A little stroll back through the Woods of Worf brings us back to the Way of the Warrior.

    stovokor9.jpg

The Way of the Warrior is a lovely paved pathway... up to a point. As the forest canopy grows denser, the paving gives way to a more primitive crushed stone path. Follow this path through the trees...

    stovokor10.jpg

The path terminates at the crest of the third high hill on the island.

    stovokor11.jpg

And here lies the Mausoleum of Kahless, a shrine of great significance to Klingons everywhere.

The Government of Schulmania considers it a very high honor to provide this very important cultural site to the Klingon Empire. From the invention of the batleth to the founding of Stovokor, Schulmania and the Klingon Empire have woven together a strong and vital link, one that enriches both nations and makes the galaxy a richer place.

The bag of sugar seem to have sprung a leak...

Hopefully, the pain sticks are saved for the Buggs... though they might like it, unfortunately.

Looks good, can't wait for more!

On behest of General Aliki, Grand Duke of Terra Canis and Leader of  the

Austrian Canine Joint Task Force, We would like to express Our deepest

thanks not only for the splendid diplomatic relations with Her Supreme Wirdle,

Leader of the mighty Schulminion Felinocracy, but also wish to express Our

deepest gratitude for the marvelous architectural skills of the Felines represented

in the appearance of the Terra Canis Embassy.

We can confirm that the Grand Duke himself is very pleased about this fact.

Soon, the Capital of Terra Canis, Alikipolis, will be revealed, but only, when the time

is right and the Council of Terra Canis might not fear any espionage of the evil bugs

    of Queensferry.

In any case, canine architects are working hard on the plans for a sole and secure

feline diplomatic district with utmost preciseness and perfection which is granted

to please the sharp eyes of the Members of Her Supreme Wirdle.

This said, we would like to confirm the tight tensions of the formerly unexpected

ally between Felines and Canines and can assure Schulmania that with the help of

its’ allies victory will be Yours.

We, the Grand Duchy of Terra Canis and His General, Grand Duke Aliki, remain

with Our most cordial wishes to Her Supreme Wirdle.

    Hester She likes being lithe!

jim 546 Yep... they are both proud warriors.

lucky7 Awesome! Hope you like the update triology.

Benedict Thanks. And I hope you enjoyed it.

Leech10 Woo hoo! You got the spinny globe to come on over. That thing is very fussy.

Efkin Thanks. And, welcome to Schulmania.

Sirron Kcuhc Thanks. I hope it lived up to the hype.

Muck308 You are probably right about that 9.gif

Benedict she has been hitting the Fancy Feast buffet quite a bit lately...

Sgt Pepper Thanks. I am glad you liked it.

Leech10 I am sure there's probably a bunch of leeches out there...

Muck308 LOL... I hope it's not crazy glue!

PhatHead Thanks! Glad you liked the first installment.

    Wiecher Thanks! 9.gif

lucky7 Thanks. I am glad you liked the first part of the trilogy.

Benedict I am thinking not many kitties will drive... cars remind them too much of going to the vet. Speaking of which, a certain admiral is due to go on Monday...

Hester Glad we could surprise you with this one!

Muck308 Hehehe... this one was a surprise I have been working on for a while. Glad you liked it. We look forward to picking up our first guest at the airport.

Leech10 The distances are small enough they could probably walk...

dehyan309 It's a pretty populous place... and our window on the world.

jim 546 Thanks. It is a bit different... but it is an exception, rather than the rule, for Schulmania.

Wiecher Weicher, your apartment is ready... just pay your 5 schulmonetas and the keys are waiting for you. Enjoy!

Sirron Kcuhc This is the exception, rather than the rule for Schulmania.

Bigbuilder Vehicles and such will not be very popular in Schulmania.. too many felines have been whisked away to vets for them to become popular. It remains to be seenif the trend will spread out of the international enclave.

Hester Nope... no pain sticks. And the Klingons have always admired felines, the ultimate warriors!

Leech10 I think a case of pain sticks should be delivered straight to BuggUla's house!

Dumanios That would be a fun fight!

ZGMF - X88S Thanks! Glad to see you back!

lucky7 We appreciate the warm sentiments and the continued, valued support of Terra Canis. We are eager to see Alikiopolis and would love to establish a consulate or embassy there.

Took 3 tries for the globe to work, though...

One wonders how cars could remind cats of going to the vet if they've never seen one before...

And about the solid gold statue... Was it make from gold that Lauren Ahrns delivered?
