Hi I’ve had a CTD (Access Violation) problem since I installed SC4 Deluxe (version 1.1.638.0) on my new computer (Intel Quad-Core Q9550, ATI 4870/512MB, 4GB RAM). The CTD usually occurs about one out of three times when I save the game or after 10-30 minutes of game play. I don’t seem to have the zoom in/out CTDs that many other people have. I’ve tried to manually and by using IMAGECFG setting the affinity to one processor and I’ve tried to set the priority to above normal and high without any success. I’ve also tried to close all non-essential processes, increase the size of the page file and update graphics drivers. Nothing seems to help. Some other info that might help; my Plugins folder is empty and the paging file is set to 4606 MB for both min and max (which is the recommended value). I’ve searched the internet and this forum and there appears to be a lot of people with similar problems but there seems to be no universal solutions to these CTDs. Has anyone else had the same issue where the game crashes when saving and managed to solve it? I would appreciate any suggestions that could help. Here is the first lines of the exception report:
