Post one thing per post that you are annoyed about and that you want to vent your anger about. Just remember no personal attacks or prejudice and stick to the ST rules about etiquette, swearing and capital letters.

What I'm annoyed about?

Well funny you should ask.

At the moment it is the 55 year old accountant from London who slipped on a grape in a Marks & Spencer store and is now claiming £300,000 ($600k) from M&S.

The best bit is the reasons he needs the compensation which is "loss of confidence, depression and not having the confidence to recruit new staff". He only tore a tendon in his leg! Im not going to say it doesnt hurt but what a prat.

He didn't even fall inside the store, he claims that the grape was found on his shoe after the fall and was probably from inside the store or the car park.

I hate the suing culture coming over here from the US. Just deal with it people!

The way Portsmouth is constantly put down or just ignored in the British Media.

Prince Charles described the city as backwards and decrepid, the only real media attention we get is related to our high Sex Crime rate, the landmark 170m Spinnaker Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the country got next to no media coverage, even though smaller, less exiting things like the B for the Bang in Manchester gets loads.

Spike Milligan (sp?) banished the city to room 101 in the chat show of the same name, whilst Portsmouths cross channel ferry port is far larger than Dovers, you only hear of Dovers, when you hear the navy mentioned in a show, its Pymouth, even though 2/3 of the navy are based in Portsmouth. Plymouth has about 1/8 of it.

The Sun newspaper has always taken a negative approach to the city, citing such 'facts' as we all wear shell suits.... (cant say I have ever seen anyone wearing one)

Portsmouth, as agreed by many Skyscrapercity members has one of the most memorable skylines in the EU, is one of the most unique cities in the UK given its island location and 'most densely populated city' title.

Portsmouths great, and if you dont see that you must be stupid.

Its a city^

what did you think it was? A mouthshaped port that eats ships?

What really bugs me at the moment is my English teacher taking points off my essay just because im too smart to follow those crappy robotic writing formulas they make us use (example: "The main theme of "-" by - is -." Do you honestly feel any sense of accomplishment by writing somthing so plain and boring?)

Standardized testing, since there is no national bar, the states can make the tests as easy or as hard as they like, which really helps nothing.

Hearing that the Stupid Iraq war is costing us $3 Trillion! If Gore was president, this nation would be in such a better position. On the news they said with that money, it would be same as creating HSR from SF to San Diego then to NYC and back 3 TIMES! We could be cutting down global warming but instead we have people dying in a war for what? This country is so corrupted with all the scandals I hear of. Thanks to corporations we are limited from what the rest of the world is offered. California however is very liberal so we are not really like the rest of the US. Sometimes I wished we were our own nation, being 5th largest economy in the WORLD!

    -end rant-

Here's a little story from way back during the stone age of Simtropolis (otherwise known as 2003):

I logged on one day, and noticed that there were, at that moment, 999 total threads in the off topic forum. Seeing my opportunity, I quickly attempted to think of a new legitimate topic so I could nab the 1000th one. What I came up with was a thread entitled "Off Topic #1000- Pet Peeves", with the post itself saying something along the lines of "This is the 1000th thread in the off topic forum. So, what are your pet peeves? Some of mine are bla bla bla". Of course, now that threads vanish into the aether upon reaching about 15-16 months since their last post, that thing is long gone so I can't find it to link you to it, and, even if I had thought to save the URL, the link would lead nowhere anyway.

The point of me telling that story is that this topic has, in fact, been discussed here before. You didn't come up with something new. Still, since the old thread in question is gone, this one is perfectly justified in continuing. Now then:

If you can show me a cheap and effective piece of technology that eliminates the need for someone to ever fart, then I may consider it reasonable to object to people's flatulence. But given that it's something we all do, and pretty much have to do right when the urge arrives, there is no such thing as an inappropriate time or place to fart, since we have no choice in the matter. You may choose to find objection with people farting loudly as opposed to muffling it (I don't, most guys my age don't, but whatever suits you), but finding objection with the act itself is illogical, as is finding objection with the smell (again, not a choice).

If you're on the train and ya gotta fart.. ya gotta fart. Not like you're going to be able to go outside and do it, either. Don't let it bother you so much.

    *fart*

Right now I hate the state of California!

The fiscal crisis is eating away at music, and all the other arts which are extremely important for our children's education. Stupid porkbarrel spending, hedge funds and all that other ballyhoo eating away our precious state money, along with poor fiscal management from Mr. Schwartzen-whatever. He wanted to cut music, I hate the guy! I don't mind taking the pay cuts anymore, its about the children, the district orchestra and the school bands and orchestras give these kids something to feel proud of, something to look forward to, a place to make friends. I talk with my students a lot and those who really do care about the group tell me they fear that the district orchestra will be cut, a programme that was founded in 1951! The oldest of its kind in all of California. Sure, we aren't the best musicians yet, we don't always play those flats and sharps, but we come together and we create something beautiful. To you the reader out there, and the state legislators and politicians, music may just be another department to cut funding to, but to all of us its something worthwhile and precious.

-So, if you have any sort of influence over the government in California, politicians in the family, or politician friends, please ask them to think twice before they slash music off of the payroll.

       Thank You

Here is something I posted at skyscrapercity, I removed the 'expressive language'.

Im just against the people in this country who refuse to work. Me and Mullattokid (skyscrapercity forum member) were discussing this at the Broadgate Tower tour, there are far to many lazy individuals in this country who don't work, have no real reason to not work, and think all us hard working folk owe should pay for them. What do they give us back? Nothing.

    Fake friends.

I was embarrassed in front of half my Spanish class today by a friend I've known since 4th grade.

    I was really surprised. . .

I sit next to her, but I'm requesting to move as far away as possible tomorrow.

She can figure out her homework herself 41.gif
