I realize that I must be asking a lot, but I was just wondering if someone could make (or adapt) an SC4 Terraformer for Mac? It would really help me a lot and I'm sure that other Mac users would be more than appreciative of it. Thanks.

I have, but it didn't work for me. I'm afraid that an SC4 terraformer made for Mac would be the only way.

You need to make a folder in the My Documents folder on the Windows side called "Simcity 4" (without the quotes, of course). The program is supposed to send the region files to that folder, but can't create it, and it wouldn't exist unless you had Windows SC4 installed.

Or VMware Fusion, which has THE better DirectX support, THE better Bluetooth support, and THE better upgrade system. I'm considering Fusion to run SC4 too!

I'd try Wine, not sure how to install it though. Ah here we go: http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/ That's a recent version, and it should work fine assuming that it would work in Linux Wine (I'll go check). If you need help with it, I can try to help but I'm not very experience with Macs (I'm pretty good with Wine though). Also, Crossover might work, but it costs money and Crossover is just based on Wine so they're similar. (I've used both and Crossover does some things better but I like Wine best still 9.gif)

EDIT: I coulsn't get it to run in Wine on my Ubuntu, so it probably won't work in Wine for you either. Your best bed would be VMWare Fusion, Virtualbox (Free), Parrells, or Boot Camp (Comes with Leapord I think). YOu would need a copy of Windows for any of those though 15.gif

Is what he's asking possible though? It would be so much more convenient, and you didn't even answer his question.

I tried to on Crossover, but it said SimCity 4 wasn't installed for some reason.

I will try the sc4 mapper. I know that it isn't terraformer, but at least, if it works, we will be able to have terraformer regions. 4.gif

I've tried using the built-in mapper to decompress a region. Unfortunately what came out was a semi-hilly mush that had no peaks. Also, I had very shallow bodies of water that I had to dredge. I wish that when people posted regions on the STEx that they would decompress the regions into pre-done folders. That way I could install in my plugins  and play. Wayne

compress? decompress? What purpose are you trying to achieve? I've never had to use that function unless I was modifying what someone else had done.. and if it's the function I was thinking of, you have almost total control over what it does... both "stretch/compact" and "ranges"

Is there still no fix to this? I've tried SC4 over Wine, and it was a big mistake....
