blue sinjid:  I got the bullet train mod from APTX's Japanese site, but its been down for some time.   Sorry I can't be of much more help.

dfnva:  Thanks!  Glad you like the parking lots!

Patricius Maximus:  Thanks, glad you like the FAR.  20,000 will come soon enough....

Goldfish4209:  Thanks a lot!  FAR is currently in beta testing, and I am working for the NAM team, helping them test out their goodies.  Thats why you will only see stuff like that here, on 3RR, etc.

    edmonton_stinks:  Hey, thanks a lot!

    deion30296:  Yep, that's right!

un1:  Thanks!  lol, it was just one little picture of FAR... and now you are blackmailing me?  3.gif

-Yes there is a house there.  But don't worry, as development and land value increase, it will be replaced.

remanh:  Thanks!  Yes, that's in indoor ski slope!

caspervg:  Great to see you back here!  Thanks for all your comments!

hamish:  lol.  I'm not that special 3.gif.  You want more FAR?  I will try to use it more often then!

kj3400:  Thanks?  You think I'm teasing you?  Its just showing you what its capable of!

    068664663:  Thanks!

-FAR stands for "Fractional Angle Roads".  There is also a FARR (RailRoads).  That was how I was able to make a road on that type of angle.

cheese91:  Never been here before?  Welcome!  Glad you liked the second picture!

pagenotfound:  If Phelps said this, then it has to be good.  Thanks for your comments!

    wishfulanthony:  Thanks for your comments!

    - I got the bullet train mod from APTX's Japanese site, but its been down for some time.   Sorry I can't be of much more help.

-I would like to link you to the bike paths, but the search engine on the STEX is currently down.  Try searching for "bike path" when its back up.  It should list the dependencies there.

flyinbird93:  Thanks a lot!  About the station, it has not nearly reached its full potential yet, on account that the city is still small.  Once the city expands you can bet that there will be a ton more trains!  Highways are increasing in use too.

dj's girl:  hehe... Thanks a lot!

    jacqulina:  Thanks!  Its always growing...

    Update time!

I am going to mix it up a bit for this update and show you two things.

    1.  A night showcase of Downtown.  I am still new with taking night photos, but I hope you enjoy it!

    2.  Showing those new signs mrtnrln made for The GTR Over @ SC4D.  Link to his post.

    Picture Information:

    NOTICE:  Please Read!

Before I post some pictures of my cities, please know that I strive for the best quality of my images possible.  Every picture from here on-in is not photoshopped in any way, and is taken directly from the game to show you exactly what I see in the game.  The only editing done is converting the .PNG file to .JPEG.

***IMPORTANT***    Also, please know that my pictures are COMPRESSED, and are NOT RESIZED! When you resize a picture, a ton of the image's quality is lost, and is shrunk to comply with ST's picture size limits.  Compressing the image retains the quality, but looks terrible when squeezed to comply with site limits.

But, I have found a loophole in this problem.  Each compressed picture displayed will be linked to the actual uncompressed, true image.  All you have to do to view the image in its FULL RESOLUTION (1920x1200) is to simply click on the compressed image displayed in this city journal (800x500).  The reason that the images are not 800x600 is because I present my pictures in widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio), making the image much more appealing for the human eye's stereoscopic vision.

If you have any questions or comments about how I display my images, feel free to post a reply.

I like the signs, although they seem a bit grayish, or maybe it's only because the structure of the sign is coloured that way. Ya don't see much of that in Toronto!

Those signs and gantries look nice. If I had the talent, and patience, I'd probably do like they do in the Blue Hope CJ and make all the gantries for all my interchanges.

I like the signs. Mrtnrln did custom signs for you? Lucky.

The downtown shots look good. Especially the crack of dawn one.

Hey, great signs! The night shots look good too, because all the different mixes of buildings create a great mix of lights as well. It's quite colourful, like a laser show, except...not moving. It's better in picture form, a video of that might be tedious.

Nice pics you got again! I especially like the close-up shots of the interchange and the night shots of downtown! I really am dazzled by your city's growth that I really love reading your CJ more often than ever!

Theirishnintendonerd :  Hey, thanks a lot!  Your link isn't working!! 3.gif

068664663:  You like the signs?  I know they could be improved, but I'll take what I can get!

-Are you from Toronto (or the GTA)?  I'm from London, about 2 hours down 'da 401.

dfnva:  Thanks!  Ya, I would like to make signs too.  I have attempted it on several occasions, but failed every time.

Patricius Maximus:  Hey, someone likes them!  Yes Mrtnrln made them for me.

-Glad you liked the night/dawn shots!

AndCar:  Hey, thanks a lot!  Making a city like this requires a lot of experience and patience...  Glad to hear you enjoyed this update!

kj3400:  Yes they do.. they also put impressive pressure on my PC!  3.gif  It can get very laggy when scrolling through downtown at night.

edmonton_stinks:  Hey, thanks a lot!  A laser show?  But still?  Okay...  A video would also be very laggy...

wishfulanthony:  Thanks again!  Glad to hear you are enjoying this CJ!

hamish:  Thanks!  A Mac cannot run the night-time mod?  Are you sure?  You might want to have a lookie here:

blue sinjid:  Ya, sorry about that but thanks for your reply!  Glad you think this is the best urban CJ ever!

-Again, I have bad news for you.  That stadium was also found on a Japanese website.  I am pretty sure I got it from SOMY's site so that would be the best place to look.

Goldfish4209:  Thanks!  Ground leveling for the airport is still in progress.  Its... um... gonna be a while before its done. The project is just that epic!

    Update time!

This update will show some ongoing developments in Terran Settlement.  The city has now reached a population of over 1 Million sims, and the region has far surpassed 15 million.  This huge growth is putting more and more strain on the region's infrastructure.  As good as it might be, there is always room for improvement and reconstruction. 2.gif  You will see some of this work, as well as some new developments, in this update.

In addition, The GTR has over 20,000 views! (and over 5,000 @ SC4D).  I want to say a big thank you to all you viewers and repliers for all your support!

    Pictures:

Click the images for full resolution! (1920x1200)  See my picture information section on the first update of this page for more info.

City stats and traffic view.  You can see that the pop is now over a million and the strain on some of the roads.  As the city continues to expand, more attention must be allocated to reduce congestion.

(Sorry, this image is not available in full resolution.)

    Clipboard01-10.jpg

This picture was seen during the Industrial update.  As I stated then, it was about to get reconstructed to handle the increasing volumes of traffic.

    TerranSettlement-Sep27431217908881.jpg

    Here is the junction completed.

    TerranSettlement-Feb8531220038973.jpg

A new highway puts the new highway curves to good use as it winds through the small peninsula.

New zoning near a new bullet train junction.

    TerranSettlement-Mar1531220042585.jpg

A avenue roundabout serves as the terminus for this RHW.  The area has also been zoned for development.

    TerranSettlement-Mar29531220046645.jpg

New zones and a new highway interchange.  Note the GTR signs!

    TerranSettlement-Mar27531220046625.jpg

The city's east edge is suffering from long commute times due to congestion.  Abandonment and urban decay is spreading throughout this area.

    TerranSettlement-Mar2531220042721.jpg

Not to worry though.  A new multi-network station is going to be built.  A new bullet train line will parallel the rail bridge (which will also be refurbished).

    TerranSettlement-Mar2531220042855.jpg

A look at the junction at the other side of the bridge.  As you can see, decay has also hit this area.  Infrastructure improvements should help counter that.

    TerranSettlement-Apr18531220046864.jpg

That's it for this update!  The next update will show the completion of that station among other things... Sit tight!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Hal: Your CJ looks so brilliant, it really looks like a huge masterpiece that really takes a long time to build! If there is really something I can say about your CJ, there's only one thing: Impressive! Bravo, hal -- you are such a genius!

A belated congrats on 1000 posts and 20,000 views! The night shots you have are spectacular. I almost forgot there was a smooth highway curve included with the latest NAM; now I'll have to use it somehow! I'll try to drop in a bit more frequently in the future!

I like the way you have the highway winding through the peninsula... hopefully people don't drive too fast and, uh, fall in the river. Out of curiosity, what is that, in the first couple of screenshots, it looks like a bridge or maybe a ferry terminal, but not ones I've seen before?

Show us the subway system please!

Anyways, good luck planing out your region to fix the region's traffic problems. At least your region's traffic problem isn't as bad as one of my city's traffic problem...

Quick question: Where did you get the mods for brick sidewalks and the road/HWY/RHW signage?
