Downtown of one of my cities-West Carmenita.

Well, I know that I failed hard by not having additional buildings here, and I took it from afar as it is on 1024x768, plus, the .jpeg compression from .bmp destroyed the pic even more

Here's a shot of Middleburg's downtown at night:

(Middleburg is part of a new series of more-realistic looking cities I've been working on.)

I have several 'downtowns' in the same city, this is one of them.

This is my first ever mosaic! This is again the downtown of my city, Crestwood!

Please excuse some of the "rundown" buildings. I keep having random desirability issues in this city D:

Been attempting to garner out a realistic new york styled city. Admittedly a large majority of the buildings are plopped since i tend to be pretty particular about where buildings go...

Let's go to the Golden State, California! Just done in 15mins (I actually spent more time downloading and installing buildings than making my city )

Nice downtowns everyone!

Bastet69008: Looks great! I've been to downtown LA several times, those buildings look spot on! Could you please tell me where you found the two California Plaza buildings?

Evillions: Love the grittiness!

Thanks guys! I'm glad you like my downtowns :D

This is in the same city as the other downtown's. At least play, the city had almost 498k people.

Most of the land that this is built on was not there a few hours ago. :P

Not much, but here's part of a downtown I made recently that I like:

Bastet69008: It looks just like LA. Good job.

The city I'm working on has multiple CBDs (it's laid out kind of like Tokyo, where there's no single downtown but a bunch of business districts that sprung up in random places). Here are two of them. The second one's not quite done.

Another and much better looking too.

What software did you use to capture the video?

"Whether it be the sweeping eagle in his flight, or the open apple-blossom, the toiling work-horse, the blithe swan, the branching oak, the winding stream at its base, the drifting clouds, over all the coursing sun, form ever follows function, and this is the law."

You could always use Camstudio it's free, but if you want a better one use Camtasia it's a paid recorder but this video will show you how to get it for free non trial.

Some great downtown shots, everyone! :thumb:

Mine's not really a downtown. It's just a shot of Port Town's town centre. You can see some of the highest buildings in this town, which is those high-rise tenements.

I like the design of the city.. but what I'm most curious about is how the hell your city loads so FAST????!

Please tell me you fast forwarded that.. otherwise looks like I really do need a PC upgrade, because some of my biggest cities can take 5 to 10 minutes to load!

Seriously, I was going to say the same too. My computer is much newer than the game, but it takes a few minutes to launch it with all the plugins, and then it takes at least a couple of minutes to open a large (over 300K pop.) city. One thing I've noticed is that simcity4deluxe is not using a sidewalk mod. I'm using Jeronij's sidewalk mod, and I know that it causes a noticeable refresh lag when scrolling around in the city. Also there are no forests in the un-zoned areas. I bet if there were trees there, we'd see some of that lag I'm used to getting. At 3:12 when the view zooms out, my game would've crashed to desktop.

So, what are your hw specs simcity4deluxe? Enquiring minds would like to know. :)

Actually no, I didn't skip, and I wouldn't lag, and I don't know why, just forgot to bother with trees, and my specs are:

Nvidia 9800 GT 512MB GDDR3(if the GDDR3 matters).

2GB of ram.

Inspiron 530.

this is the basic
