It's looking good, always nice to have more markets (there aren't very many, and I don't think there are many open shed types).  I feel like the roof needs to overhang more though.  And it also feels like there should be more openings, and that they should be open instead of glass (is the building enclosed in real life?).  I can see a nice lot coming with this one too.  1.gif

It's actually an existing market in Barcelona, and it's far from finished, yes, the real interesting part of the market is open, but I haven't batted it yet 2.gif

Sweet Bats Everyone!

Here is the latest progress I have made with San Antonio's Tower of the Americas, shown in Zoom 4:

Tower of the Americas Zoom 4 Teaser

Zoom 5 is simply too tall to reasonably post full-size in the forum, but you can check it out here:

Still much to do, like antenna clusters, machinery, lighting fixtures, actual lighting, railings, tweaking whatever it is I think I am doing with the base glass shelter, etc.  At least it doesn't look completely like a hub cap on a stick anymore, but much of that is also partially due to its late 1960's stark modern design (as a comparison, the previous World's Fair tower design was the Seattle Space Needle).  This will definitely come out as a 3x3 lot.

For humor on this tower and its revolving restaurant, know that vertigo and motion sickness are fun pairings for dinner digestion.  The exterior scenic elevators are also locally infamous for inexplicably stopping and stranding hapless tourists high in mid-air.  Our fire department gets much experience with the exterior 500 ft rescue!

Whip is cracking, so back to work for me...

Thats an awesome tower Odainsaker! lol, bet the Firefighters have fun rescuing people from those elevators...

Heres a half finished Hotel i'm making... its pretty much a rework of that Library I made a few months ago. Unfortunately, this thing is stuck in Gmax so theres only so much I can do with it...21.gif

Obviously, this is a WIP, I'll prolly add a few more stories and a tower to top it off, two more lattice things for the side glass of that skylight and some better looking roof textures...

Since yesterday I've been working on a control tower, not quite (but very close to) a replica of the Gold Coast's.

The shorter version is much more accurate - the control tower is only 23m high.

haha I'm back from the death of mechanical physics and metal-organic chemistry 3.gif

something I built together in the past half hour:

lexington building

still in very early stages.  I'm going for a rather realistic recration of a building here in Lexington that's located on corperate drive.  This is just the main tower, it has a somewhat of an elaborate base with it too (not really, but it isn't just a simple box 4.gif)

Arggg... I wish my computer didn't block imageshack images, my curiosity is boiling right now! 26.gif

well it's a rather generic design... maybe this would be a better picture?

auto-very innovative and unique design. This makes dubais architecture look like downtown boston. hehe 3.gif

no matter how generic I love it (as you can see, by the third time commenting on a BAT, its tough to come up with a good post)

So I'm having a little bit of trouble. I think I have been working on this too much the past couple of days and now nothing seems to look right. I'm looking for a second/third/twentieth opinion on it now. Let me know which you think is better.

Oh, you're just looking at the stands.

z040122008thinqm0.jpgz040122008nc4.jpg

This is the same stadium, the one on the left is what I've been working on for ever and a half. And then I did a z4 preview and saw the stands looked, well, MAXIS-ish. I think the "Rise-over-Run" is too squashed. So, for the right side, it's scaled 133% on the "Run" side. Same "Rise," just a longer "Run."

Now that I've had a night to sleep on it, I think the right side is much better aesthetically, I was just looking for other opinions.

edit: Also, forgot to add: Links to full size images:
