I'm bored, so I decided that people should rate RH, and I average it out in a couple days to see what people think. Please respond, cuz I think this is a good way to get people's straight forward opinions on the game. Rate each feature from 1 to 10(10 being highest, duh)

New Transportation Options 9/10 (love the avenues and one-way streets...ground highways are awesome too)
U-Drive It 2/10 (I never cared about this feature; I tried it and was unimpressed)
European Tile Set N/A (haven't tried it, though I grant an 8/10 to the new buildings and rewards in the default tile set)
Bridges N/A (haven't used yet)
Disasters N/A (don't use them)
Personalization Feature 8/10 (signs are cool, but labeling streets is absolutely neat!)
My Sims 6/10 (now you can talk to a Sim on the street...well, at least they have icons to indicate their train of thought)

Overall 8/10 (seriously, the pack is well worth it. Even what little I use has made Simcity about 2 to 3 times more enjoyable then before! In fact, I can't wait to get home and play it tonight...stupid work and college assignments!)

I enjoy U Drive it. Gives my cities a tangible feeling to them, I can actually drive my roads and see if they're made well, and how bad traffic is. I know it's a novelty, but once and in a while I like taking a bus assignment to try out. I especially enjoy racing on the highways and taking the ramps off and on. I wish they would have made it easier to drive when buildings block your view.

New transportation options, while I never managed to miss them in SC4 since I had it for less than a week before getting RH, are indeed good. Boulevards are just integral to any modern city. I like all additions of the transportation part, especially the new subway-extensions into raised railroads. Had they added roundabouts I'd been really happy.

My sims. It has gotten better, whereas before it was a waste. I only tend to use the Dispatch sim tool, and ignore the rest. New tile set: rocks. Though Ive not seen many of the high end buildings yet of any tileset. I never use disasters, really. I like that you can put personalization on, but I tend not to use it at all as it clutters my town.

In the category of "Other, which is the Overall I guess, I add the new music. Awesome, as well as other little tweaks to interface like budgetting and commuting statistics/query tool. That alone has made my attempts at making efficient public transportation really great instead of the old guessing game that has plagued SimCity since it's inception. Bigger police stations, police box, larger schools are also appreciated. Performance seems to have become faster compared to SC4. I had hoped they would have added more new regions to play.

Overall I am impressed with how much goody they packed into the pack.

For some reason my environmental rating always goes into the red. I'm perturbed by this; no matter what I do I never get as much as one pixel width of green rating down there.

New Transportation Options 9/10 - Love all of the options.

U-Drive-It 7/10 - Implemented well; won't use much.

European Tile Set 8/10 - Was in Europe 3 times last year and thought modern architecture was cool. Very happy it was added.

Bridges 9/10 - New styles (love covered bridge) that you can choose.

Disasters 7/10 - Well done, but I wish they would put in auto disasters as it really tests your emergency response system.

Personalization Feature 9/10 - Love this, street labels are sweet. I enjoyed the signs in SC2000 and hoped they'd make a return someday.

My Sims 8/10 - Additions are well appreciated and make this feature valuable.

Price 10/10 - How can I go wrong at $19.99 minus $10 rebate.

Overall 8.7/10 - I think they did a fantastic job implementing all of the new features and reworking of the routing. Some people complain this should have all been in the original but being a software developer myself I know how hard it is to include everything you want especially with business people pushing you for deadlines. Great job Maxis!

My ratings are as follows:

 

European building set:  10/10  I love it!  Great buildings, some are ugly, some very nice.  Brutalist style building I noticed downtown, and the light density houses are beautiful.

U-Drive It:  6.5/10  I like U-Drive It, but it's very bug-ridden, especially on the highways.  Difficult to steer on highways, as often your car will not make the turns you ask it to.  Also, it's impossible sometimes to avoid on-ramps, they suck you up no matter what.

Transportation Options:  10/10  What more can you ask for?  Everything I wanted and more.  Routequery is incredible.

Personalization:  6/10  Ok, but the street names are ugly and you can't actually query a street and name it.  Labels are often askew or run over other labels.  You can't label highways.  Glad to see "Make Historical" is back.

My Sims:  10/10  Very nice.  Dispatching Sims to abandoned areas and getting their feedback is a great feature, and picking jobs is nice, too.  The microphone is also helpful, although many Sims won't speak.  Vastly improved and dare I say useful?

Disasters:  5/10  I give the UFO 5/5, and I give Autosaurus Wrecks 0/0.  I was very disappointed with Autosaurus, mainly because he can't even do as much as Servo.

Price:  10/10  Need I say anything?

Other features:  9/10  Advisors popping up to give you advice besides when you're in crisis mode is good.  I like the vastly improved taxing, as well as the ability to tax Agriculture.  The "reason for abandonment" feedback is also extremely helpful.

 

Overall:  9/10  A nice expansion pack makes a good game great.

I find the route Query tool to have the most useful information, so I can actually know where the sims are going. Very nice. Tolls are nice, but I find myself straying away from using Industrial Rail transport now, if there was a way to make toll money (or some added benefit) to industrial rail or shipyard, I'd give it 10/10.

U-Drive-It 8/10

Adds definite charm and lot of fun if you just want to cruise around. I wish there was a toggle to automatically delete the mission if you have sucessfully completed it (would give a 9/10 if that was put in)

European Tile Set 9/10

Looks really nice so far. No real complaints there.

Bridges 8/10

I don't use too many bridges yet, but looks good too. Maybe just a little overzealous with the bridge types IMO...

Disasters 7/10

I dunno, something just doesn't seem to wash with the disasters. I really like the waterbomber animations when you get the firestation with sirstrip though (Its just wayy cool)

My Sims 6/10

I feel this is the weakest part of the game. I rarely use this feature ever.


Overall Rush hour Expansion 8.5/10

Original Simcity 6.5/10


There is no question, the expansion pack greatly improves on the original. I can't help but think that some of this stuff should have been in the original package, but the developers obviously put much effort and time into the expansion.

new transportation options--9/10 : they really make the cities more versatile. I like it. And with the monorails we can make disneyworld!!!

Udrive--7.5/1 - I likes it, it's sorta fun and interesting.

bridges--10/10 - I'm actually quite astounded at the options here, nice work!

disasters--n/a dont really care - never used em really
personilization--n/a - not sure i've used this, not a biggie

mysims--6/10 - i get so irritated abou them not finding jobs all the time (which i know was a problem before RH too). But the amount of work that went into the thought bubbles, and switching their cars and stuff is respectable


overall - 8.5/10. It's really a great job - they really seemed to have listened to the community on this one. Good stuff. And when you consider the price after rebates it's worth 10/10

Well, beeing the skeptic I was, RH far outdoes my expectations. The new transportation options are great, but I think we could have done with some more. In particular, roundabouts and 4-lane one-way avenues would be cool, but I think that fairly soon we will be able to make our own transit peices, so thats not much of a problem.

New Transportation Options:  9/10-The new roads is great, but I was surprised that the Route Query would be so valuable!  It works so well.  I still can't get mass transit, right, though.

 

U-Drive-It:  5/10-Somewhat impressed.  Fun to play with, but it gets old.

 

European Tile Set:  9/10-More buildings are always better.

 

Bridges:  10/10-The biggest eye-candy improvement!  So many choices.  I have think about which bridge I want, and it sometimes takes several minutes.

 

Disasters:  5/10-Not that big on these unrealistic disasters.  UFO believers, sorry, but unrealistic.  Floods or hurricanes would have been better.

 

Personalization Feature:  8/10-Naming every road seems too time-consuming, but I do like naming my avenues, highways, and natural features.

 

My Sims:  3/10-Don't use the MySim feature, and the microphone doesn't seem helpful.  The graphs and charts help enough.  And I noticed the llamas in my city aren't very smart.

 

Music:  9/10-Excellent soundtrack, way better than the original.

 

Route Query:  10/10-The single-most useful feature in the game.  Those people at Maxis are geniuses!

 

Overall:  7.5/10-Besides some unnecessary features I don't need, it's a great expansion.

New Transportation Options - 8.8/10:
OMFG! I love the new options! The monorails are super-beautiful, the elevated frails rock, and even though I have tried out the new ground level highway and T-interchange, I know I'll love them! The new bridges are totally awesome, however, there needs to be more for the Monorail and Elevated Train.

U-Drive-It - 9/10:
My gosh! This feature was better than I thought it'd be! You just can't beat having some of Trolocas old Amtraks in there and taking the tank and deliverately derailing them and blowing up the tank! Totally fun! However, I can't get the boats like the ferry and the yacht to go off the dock without crashing and sinking...

European Tile Set - 8/10:
VERY nice! Reflection systems or whatever that building is pops up too much in my city though (My city has 25,000 commercial jobs, and 9,900 sims, and building variety on high, I still counted 38 today! x.x Luckily it's my favorite new building though!!! Shiny! Very beautiful buildings.

Bridges - 8/10:
Like I said, needs more monorail and Elevated rail ones. But the ones we have are very keen looking!

Disasters - 6.5/10:
Well, I wish the train crash would have been a diasaster. I'd like to be able to control it. And the one video of a train crash in RH we saw before it's release was nothing like the ones in the games... Autosaurus' walking is too unrealistic for me, and the UFOs gets boring... Would have definently likes hurricanes and such better.

Personalization Features - 8/10:
Ok, but not anything that really "Wowed" me. I've given 1 street a name, named a river, and I doubt if I'll ever touch that again.

Umm... like, ugh... how much improvement were we promised that they were gonna have? Now, if the My Sims could won tanks and things like that, this would get a 10! Besides, I still get the same old messages. Lars wants a closer school, when theres 3 right next door. -_- I cheat and crank the police funding up and he complains that the kids are being arrested for playing hopskotch too close to the road...

 There are some bugs, but the value of the game more than makes up for them...

 

This is a great expansion pack. the best I have ever bought...until now my favorite was CIVIII's first expansion...but keep in mind i dont play quake type games and usually dont ever buy expansion packs for RTS games...DiabloII LOD was my favorite before CIVIII and CIVIII is probably only a fraction of a point better to me...and thats saying alot because I regard Blizzard as the best game software company hands down...if SC4 wasnt so buggy Maxis would hold that candle...
