I still missing some transportation options (i can't write them because my english is limited ).

I'm from spain... and i don't want to hear more "european set" when only is franckfurt . i hope to see some day a european tile set with typical buildings (paris, london, rome, munich, prague...).

U-Drive-It: yes, when you feel bored of governing... you can drive and do the idiot... but... no use.

I love the bridges!!!!!!!, they are great!!! but they still having problems:

1. When a bridge is done in terrain, not in water... well, you can not pass any kind of road or rail down the bridge... that is stupid!, i hope they fix that!.

2. i still missing the multifunctional bridges, with road, rail...

I did not rate the others because i don't use them and... what the hell is the "personalization feature"??? .

Love the new road/highway options, the el train...have not used the monorail at all yet though

Played it for a while, it was fun at first, i am bored with it now and dont even bother anymore.

Euro Tile Set - 10/10
Its great, its good to get a good mix of buildings in one city.

Bridges - 10/10
Bridges define a city, and im very glad maxis expanded on this section of the game. --crosses fingers for more--

Disasters - 5/10
I dont use them, but from what I have seen/heard about them, they a great.

Personalization Feature - 10/10
This is a awsome feature, brings me back to the SC2000 days...

My Sims - 6/10
Ok feedback on what is going on in your city, but i dont use them that much either.

I don't like U-Drive that much. Makes things a lot more confusing. I give it a 6/10. Overall I would give the game a 8.5/10 because there are a few things they could've added and left out.

The new transportation options are great, and help a lot. Still have traffic problems, but thats because i suck at traffic. U Drive It is real bad in a way, the missions are creative but the controls are too frustrating. The Euro Tileset is beuautiful, as well as the bridges. Disasters are cool.

Rush hour is essential to SC4. My first impression on SC4 without rush hour was, All the new gizmos and so few transportation options? because that's what a city is; transportation. I'm now content as cow chatting with his llama brethren.

I'm not big on U-drive it I think it's added some focus to the game for some people; the city the work, while the missions the reward - like sim copter. I never liked MySim although they sure were better advisors than the bloody llamas I've got advising me. Anyway, here goes.

I think that overall it is excellent but there are a few things that i think are totally useless... the Sims feature is soemhting that i think has been useless since the original game was released. U-Drive-It is definately fun, for only 2 minutes then it gets old quick. It has nice new bridges and options fo rthem and the European Tileset is nice but it would have been nice to have another 2 or 3 tilesets. the new disasters like UFO are neat and fun to play with soemtimes but gets old after awhile too.

the new transportation options are mostly what i like, the ground highways, the avenues are definately totally awesome!

Personally I love all of the transportation options added with RH.  U drive it is fun but atleast on my system it lags bad especially while crossing bridges which kinda makes me frustrated.  The bridges are wonderful I especially love the cablestayed bridge.  In my opinion they could have left the new disasters out though the alien invasion is fun occasionally.

I think that the best options are the customizable bridges, the new European Tileset, and the new modes of transportation.  I am greedy and if i had it my way, there would be about 1 millions different buildings in the game https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/22.gif> although its not very realistic to have that many....... The completely useless features from the start were the My Sims, who uses them?  Honestly     And the other useless feature unless you are either a very destructive person or a bad SC player ( in my own opinion, so dont get on my butt about it )  is the disasters.  Who wants to spend hours building something, and then watch it be destroyed?? not me

Who dug up this thread from the grave? Anyways, I would give it a 9 just because there are more features that could have been added but weren't likely because of time constraints. Also, the R$$$ demand is messed up and has to be controlled with taxes which didn't have to happen before, and it still isn't fixed despite the fact that two patches were released for the game (counting the one for BAT).

Kinda off-topic, but are they making a second expansion or what? I know Maxis is busy with the continuation of the Bob and Betty Newbie saga, but they should at least let us know something if they are working on it, like what the general theme of the expansion is going to be.

New Transportation: 10/10

The ten is mainly because I use the avenues and ground highways so much. The avenues are good because they serve as a way to cut down on road congestion, and they connect to highways directly. The ground highways are great because they are only 1/3 as expensive to place.

 

UDI: 7/10

It gets boring after a while, but it's a quick way to earn rewards, and you can do free driving. If I'm bored, I can just drive through the city. A bit laggy though.

 

Euro Tileset: 9/10

The european tileset adds more building variety, which in my opinion, is a big thing.

 

Bridges: 9/10

A city with this variety looks nice, and it may be mostly aesthetic, but it's handy for adjusting height for ferries, etc.

 

Disasters: 9/10

Well, the UFO is awesome, but Autosaurus Rex... just a clone of servo without the giant plates. I never use it though.

 

Personalization: 8/10

Well, the labels are great, but they disappear if there on roads if you change connections, etc. Also, the signs, IMO, look ugly, but I never use them.

 

My Sims: 7/10

They are at least something to do when you're bored, and I never use them for info. Then again, rich My Sims have the fastest UDI cars in the whole game.

 

Overall (Not an average): 10/10

With the combination of all these things, Rush Hour is the ultimate expansion.

-Light rail? Monorail? Avenues? Ferries?! Freakin' awesome! the only reason that it gets a 9 instead of a 10 is because the one-way roads and ground-highway overpasses are so buggy. There's a reason that we need a transportation bug fix.

U-Drive-It 5/10
-I like the fact that you can drive around town in a car a la GTA, but I think that it really would have been a better addition as a stand-alone app that would read your city files and allow you to go driving and walking around your city like a third-person action game - like GTA3. There doesn't need to be violence, just awesome driving, and maybe some missions where you could collect/unlock vehicles. That's just my take though, as-is, I was a little unimpressed, even disappointed in UDI.

But it does make a really useful tool for debugging the transportation issues!

European Tile Set 9/10
- I'm a big fan of good-looking, new buildings. I kind of wish that they didn't clash so much with the existing architecture though.

Bridges 10/10
-Amazing improvement in aesthetics!

Disasters 7/10
- Meh. Earthquakes are kinda cool, but the baby UFOs and the truckosaurus can go.

Personalization Feature 8/10
- I love the fact that they have labels and signs. The labels look great, but I wish that you could orient them differently. The signs are useful, but horribly, horribly ugly, and only one style, like every city in the world uses one kind of sign!!!

My Sims 7/10
- Useful diagnostic for neighborhoods, but they are dumb as dirt (like all the sims), and to be honest, I usually only put them in when I know I have a problem.

Route Query 10/10
-My favorite option of all time. You can finally figure out exactly why this or that street is clogged, and why no one seems to want to go to that black hole of a bus stop!!! And if you have a sim who drives to the train station, rides the train to the bus stop to go to the light rail to ride to the industrial sector just so he can walk 50 ft. to his factory there are SO MANY PRETTY COLORS! (and yes, I have done this before in a city, it's quite satisfying - his commute was only medium)

Overall 9/10
-The transportation options (including bridges and route query) alone were enough for me to want to buy this expansion. Everything else is just extra goodness, and if I didnt like UDI or the new disasters, I don't have to use them.

Well, it pretty much is. Seriously, put a microphone on a sim, and they simply have little symbols in different colors above their head. How dull! And the Mysims that you put into the buildings... wow... you only hear the same dumb messages over and over and over and over again. Fluffy the wondercat and his Control whatever to turn off help messages is more exciting that mysims...

Of course, it's fun just moving the Mysim into a building, and burning it down.
