dogma555: Looks okay.  Just make sure you work with your spacing and overpass segments and it will look and function much better.

Here is another nice RHW interchange I constructed.  More pictures can be found in my City Journal.

Click on the images to view them in FULL RESOLUTION!

Here's what it looked like beforehand:

Here it is just finished.

A zoom-in on the southbound ramp.  A special lane was constructed for this ramp so it could also enter the highway without merging.

like if i have residential in city a and industry in city b, and i make a RHW connection between a+b, my commuters wont use it. what do i do?

it works for shipping freigt tho frieght trucks use it just fine just not commuters whats up with that?42.gif

I don't think the RHW can connect two cities, so one way is to make a avenue connect between the two cities and connect the RHW to this.

As for the fright it's just that the trucks drive to the city border as with fright trains and cargo ships, without entering the next city(as if the roads are connected to simland(a not yet started city)), though i may be mistaken, this what i've understood from reading the readme and info on simtropolis.com and sc4devotion.com.

Jman47:  Just as shanghai kid said, the RHW doesn't establish a neighbour connection.  Trucks can use it because it leaves the city, but doesn't connect on the other side.  Try converting it to an avenue, road, or highway to establish a working connection.

Here's a quick example.  I made it look like a construction site to cover it up for the avenue transition.

Hmm. As long as there is an avenue properly connected on the other side and there SHOULD be cross-boarder traffic.

You may want to try forcing ALL traffic to use this connection, having residential on one side and industry/offices on the other.

If that doesn't work, then I'm STUMPED. I would try consulting with the members of the RHW team about this one.

Best,

-Haljackey

If you build avenues and bulldoze all AVE pieces but one, and later answer yes if you want to connect the cities when you drag the RHW tiles to the border, I don't think it's going to work (but it'll show as there is a RHW>AVE section nonetheless). try again, and make sure you do not answer yes to connect the cities (as the AVE's already conneting them).

Krbe, i didnt say yes to the connections, i did exactly as u said.

i ran a few tests in a contolled enviroment and the only conclusion i could come up with is that in the cities i showed in the pics, the commute was just too dam long, thats why noone used it inbetween the cities. otherwise in my tests it worked perfectly because i made the travel between the cities shorter, resulting in it actually being used.

so theres nothing unusual to report other than my own over-ambitiousness with the new RHW system43.gif

thanx for your help i hope u enjoyed my pics too!

Nice work Xyloxadoria! I really like those walls too!

Just one thing: your northbound RHW under the ave is not lined up properly, making it nonfunctional. Make sure the white and yellow lines match up and that the shoulder is on the right!

Mega-bump.

This thread hasn't been active in over a year, but I think its time to revive it.

After seeing this thread (now locked), it seems that some perfer to have a thread totally devoted to showing off your RHW network.

This thread was originally found in Modding: Transit Networks but the staff was kind enought to move it City-Building Concepts where it feels more at home since most of the development now takes place off-site.  (Thanks to Abcvs and Zel for the move! 4.gif)

May as well post a few pics to get this thing revived:

I made this one the other day and I take great pride in it. It took some work but the result (in my opinion) is beautiful!

@metasmurf: I really like your picture. For a Norwegian, "junctions" like yours are much more common than the giant RHW-8 and 10 layouts (I like those as well, though..). May I ask what tree controller you are using? Is it one of Cycledogg's?

Btw: I think I notice a missing RHW Euro texture.. The double white line in the middle of the RHW-2 suddenly turns yellow when connecting to the roundabout.
