Well, I started making something working like a double-decker highway, just some pathed puzzle pieces to start with it:

Side by side (they are 1x1 puzzle pieces with one different way in each deck)

As you can see here

I also made another piece to separate the support pieces

And enlightened it up with some light poles:

More pieces are coming!

Does the pathing actually work, or is it just eyecandy? I remember in my experiments (back in the day, lol) overlaying two paths of the same vehicular type cause some unwanted bugs. Vehicles would randomly switch from the lower path to the higher path, and sometimes the two paths would merge together. It's been a long time since I did those experiments so things may have changed.

So...I nominate Fukuda, the God of the Bridge, for a 2007 Trixie, whether or not he actually gets this released. I agree with ryanb_sc4: it is absolutely disgustingly awesome.

It's not an eyecandy pathing, it works perfectly, and there's no visible switching between lanes, even in UDI

This looks great! But it looks pretty high, can't you lower it a bit? Like the lower highway would touch the ground, that would look more real cause of the lower cunstruction costs.

Still, great idea. Would be very usefull in every city 9.gif

WOW!! I AM IN AW! fukuda, you don't rule...- you rock'n rule!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree with BigSlark: you are the God of the Bridge, and you shall be rewarded with a 2007 trixie- in advance!! as camedia mentioned, you should lower it a bit, it's more realistic. What about curves? Are you planning curved- puzzle- pieces, too? Great work so far, looking forward to seeing more 4.gif

Wow! Fukuda, you seem to be skyrocketing ahead making a double deck highway here, and a truss deck bridge there...

    Nice!
