jacqulina: Thanks. The reason everything fits so well together is because I'm most likely obsessive compulsive and I makes me freak when something looks too out of place. 3.gif

GMT: Actually, I envy everyone on some level. The people here have many unique abilities and talents. You just happen to be one of them. 5.gif

cowcorn: There is only one stadium in the downtown... the other (Madison Square Garden) is the downtown convention center. Thanks for the compliment.

AfroThunda: Yeppers.. amazing what Photoshop CS2 can really do!

Giligone: Yeah,it really is. But Kansas City also is a bit of a sports haven too...

    zachos-prague: Thanks!

Cjah: Thanks, I try to make a nice mix to the city while making everything fit together. I mean, honestly, where do you see the same towers over and over in a city? 1.gif

    Now to the update:
Previously recorded broadcast from PGTV5 News:

    pg31cz6.jpg

Anchorwoman: At 6am this morning, Midtown, know as the industrial district of our city, played victim to a savage arsonist, killing 43 and sending 15 to nearby South Grove Medical Center. Officals say that the first of the many fires was started in the Wallace Petroleum building.

Anchorman: That's right Jill. Pine Grove fire marshall, Frank Truman, says fire fighters were unable to put out many of the fires set due to the collapse of the Wallace building causing a water main break directly under the building.

Anchowoman: City officials say that as of right now, an estimated $4.8 million in damage has occurred. Fortunately, those injured were rushed to the nearby trauma center, and are expected to make a full recovery.

Anchorman: Officials are using video data from the PGDOT camera atop the Midtown Exchange Building o try and catch the culprits. Police do ask that anyone with any information to please call the Police Tips Hotline

Achorwoman: And now to Kathy in the weather center...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
excerpt from The Pine Grove Auto Insider:

Tomorrow will mark the 15th annual Pine Grove Auto Show, set to take place in the newly-renovated Bantell Hall. The renovation, banked by GPS leader Gantin (Nasdex: GNTN) now features 50 grand meeting rooms, 8,000 seat fine arts theater, 12 resturants, and a two-level 380,000 square foot convention hall. along with a 10,000 space parking garage under the hall and the many other parts of the convention center. Nicknamed, Section D, the add-on hopes to supplement the entertainment district move. The venture, started along side the also newly opened TriTel arena, are part of Pine Grove's "2% for city renewal" project.
    ...
The auto show, in accordance with PG's newly mandated public EV incentive, hopes to bring car maker's together with enviomentalists to come to a long needed understanding.

    pg32tp2.jpg
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Latest update from PGDOT's Website:
    pg33qj6.jpg

Come to the newly completed Downtown Executive Airport and Air Museum. This completed project brought to you by the Pine Grove Departmet of Transportation Board, and Bloomer Technologies and Construction
    ...
The terminal and air museum, part of the once long-forgotten and very corrupt Airport Revitalization Project, was originally handled by state's transportation comission, but due to complaints, threats of lawsuits, and general pocketing on the project's funds, control was handed over the PGDOT. After only 2 years, the project has been completed and now is ready to handle passengers, children, and airplane enthusiasts alike.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thus concludes this update. Look forward for the next update, the River Market Plaza.

Hey everyone! Since I just finished my Christmas shopping, and still need to wrap everything and study for a final tomorrow (or I guess its now today 3.gif) I'm most likely not going to have a new update tomorrow. I do plan on replying to everyone's comments, but school and my families gifts need to get done, which in turn i guess will leave me with more time to play later. 5.gif

But, not to leave you guys hanging, here's a small teaser for the next update. Enjoy!

    pgt1ym6.jpg

It's just something quick I threw together, but I guess it shows that PG's public access channel will be covering the next update. It's expected to air Friday, but with the impending snowstorm expected to hit the area the station may instead break to live news coverage of the coming storm...

Schulmanator: Thanks. I like the way you do yours too!

DanTso: Yeah, I try to mimic that which is around me (aka TV)

thundercrack83: Yeah... took forever to make too, lol! I'm going to try and feature all the KC Metro's TV stations in some way.

emilin: Yeah, I'm trying to make it really interesting.... Thanks for stopping by again!

jacqulina: Lol.... if you likedto snow, this update is for you... think snow... 10 fold. Thanks for the support!

Cjah: Actually, in real life, we have a major BNSF line right in front of our Downtown Airport in KC...

And now, to the update, already in progress:

    pg41aw8.jpg

Narrator: Pine Grove, known for its sports fans, autocars, and midwestern feel has been long known also for its amazin' litle miracle just south of it's downtown...

Started in 1915, the River Market was originally started as a public housing project for the many homeless citizens plaging the city. But after years of much neglect and crime, this neighborhood nearly ceased to exist. But, in the late 1980's, city planners came up with a plan to reclaim this sector of the metro.

It's plan, nick-named the Plaza project, didn't call for them gleaming towers of glass and steel, but to keep the existing buildings and give them a new lease on life.

    pg42di5.jpg

Narrator: The plan called for a total renovation of all the existing builings, and the old city hall to be converted into a high-dollar, state-of-the-art shpping center.

Many called the plan hog-wash, and with the city only in the beginnings of pulling its self out of a dead heat on economics, .....

    ----------------
Station Manager: We interupt this program to bring an important news update. We now go live to our sister station, PGBE Channel 9.
    ----------------
    pg43ks9.jpg

Announcer: We now go live to Barry Hillock at the Weather Desk for information.....

Barry: As many of you out in our veiwing area know the metro is in for a huge winter storm, with originally estimated snowfall amounts being raised from 2 feet to 6. This artic storm, being left to sit by the southward moving jet stream has left the storm to sta on top of us at least for the next 24 hours, with snow faling at an average of 4 inches every hour. Here's a live feed from the River Exchange camera along I-37. As you can see, we have severe traffic tie-ups all along the eastbound corridor. We've had reports of up to a 3-mile backup along the interstate, as may cars are either getting stuck or stalling in the near zero temperatures. As you can see, the visability out there is approching 2 feet, and we're already seeing delays out of the Downtown and Northside airports.

We're gonna go now to Carla Monroe out in the field...

    Carla?

    pg44ko1.jpg

Carla: That's right Barry. I'm out here on I-945 at the Commerece Street overpass, and let me just say, the wind is really picking up ad i i freezing out here. In fact, I can't even see the highway down below, just the lights from the cars. We're getting reports of accidents coming in from all over, and many businesses are closing early in hopes of getting everyone home before things get worse. And....

Oh my Barry, we've just saw a semi that seems to have slipped off of the highway and demolished that guardrail. Someone call 911, i think that man is hurt! We gonna go see if he's ok! Back to you guys in the news room!

Eric: Thanks Carla, keep us informed of that accident out there.

Jane: City officials are telling everyone to stay at home or work and wait until the storm clears up some. PGDOT is telling us now that an estimated 63 accidents have occured across the area, and more are coming in as we speak. All flights have now been cancelled in and out of the city, and many flghts are being diverted.

Eric: This just in. A 17 car pile has just occured on the Midtown Interchange. We now go live to the scene with Riley Market, in News Chopper 9... Riley? Can you tell us what you see?
    pg45ag7.jpg

Riley: Well, from what I can see here is that the pileup is underneather the Midtown Interchange Building. PGDOT officials are not releasing footage from the camera underneath the building. I do however have this to say. Do not, I repeat DO NOT get onto US-45. Traffic looks to be backed-up all the way past the river... at least 5 miles. Also, I have no clue how the paramedics or police are going to get to the accident. All the road from here looks completely filled and it looks like the traffic isn't going to have anywhere to go to get them through. We've gotten reports from drivers down there that there are serious injuries, and than it appers one of the cars may be on fire. There are even reports that a school bus has been involved. We're gonna keep you informed s on as we have more information. Back to you, Eric.

    pg46ye2.jpg

Eric: PGDOT officials are now being to systematically shutdown all major freeways are suggesting to all citizens to remain at home. However, f you must drive, they are saying to follow all pre-treated snow routes. They have told us that starting at 4:45pm, I-945/K-12 will be shut down to all but essential road crews and city works people until further notice.

Jane: We're going to return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress until we receive more information.
    --------------
    pg47iw3.jpg
Narrator: .... known as the Plaza Lighting ceremony, is held every year on Thanksgiving. The city spends tens of thousands of dollars every year to decorate the area it order to draw citizens and tourists alike to the area in hopes of luring the to shop.....
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, thats about all I have for the time being. Hope you guys enjoyed it. 1.gif

jacqulina: Thanks! I'm so glad that you keep returning, and I'm also fond of your work. Yeah, I really like how the Plaza worked out, much like, at least in my opinion, the realy thing here in KC. In fact, it even somewhat folowed he history of it.

GMT: Yep... lots and lots of it is right. Suposed to be reminiscent of the 2001 ice storm in KC. And there will definately be more.

Schulmanator: Thanks... it truely is a one in a hundred years storm.

sEAhAwk fAn121: Yeah, the Cj is based loosely off of our fair city! ...That is, very loosely base... I look forward to your return. Your CJ is nice too. 1.gif

blade2k5: Yeah, same here... and of course on my first year of having a driver's license... wasn't fun at all...

thunercrack83: Thanks... I wanted to do both, but I couldn't decide beween the two, so I figured, what the heck, I'll do both!

OK, now here's the fun part. I'm gonan put the next update in the hands of you guys.

One: Should the storm get worse, or clear up?
Two: PG is planning on putting in a new light rail system. Should it and if so, what kind? (El Train, HSR, GLR, Subway...)
Three: More downtown or move on to the suburbs?

Your views are very important and I take all your veiws seriously. If ou guys could help me out on this one, I'd really appriciate it!
    -------------------------------
    edit:
I guess nobody wanted to participate.... well, oh well. I'll try to update tomorrow.

Sorry it took so long to get this up today. I actually had it ready to go last night, but was unable to post it since the site was down. Enjoy!

    ---------------------------------

    pg51rl2.jpg

Bryan: Today marks day 4 of the blizzad hitting the area. As you can see, nearly every school in the area, and several of school districts outside the metro, but in the viewing area, are closed today from the record snow amounts.

Nancy: City road crews are still working to keep what highways open still in good condition for those of you who have wor today. We now go to Jerry in the traffic center....

Jerry: Thanks Nancy. I'm gonna show you the scene down in the River Market Plaza where PGDOT Officials have now reopened the US-45 corridor, scene of that 15 car pileup last Friday.

    pg52uy7.jpg

Jerry: Official numbers have been released from the grusome scene last week. Official reports show that there was a school bus involved in the accident, and the 23 children hurt in the accident are expected to mke a quick recovery. All in all, 14 people were injured, and another 8 were later lost in surgery late that night. Our prayers go out to the families of those lost. Back to you in the news room.

Bryan: Today marks day three of the blackout still in effect for much of Brookside. The outage, a PG P&L spokesperson announced yesterday has been linked back to a short cased by ice at a local substation. Officials say power can be expected to return later today.

    pg53qr1.jpg

Nancy: Many have been taking shelter in the homes of many Fairveiw residents home, whose residents have graciously opened their homes to those who are in the effected Broksid neigborhoods. Also, The River Plaza Mall has donated over $20,000 to those without power for food and heating units to be able to stay in their homes.

Bryan: We're going to leave you now with the view from the SkyView Camera attached the Channel 41 News chopper of the River Plaza Mall and parts of Fairview...

    pg54sg4.jpg

    ------------------

Well, thats all I have for this evening... well, morning now... enjoy everyone! 9.gif

You keep coming up with little clever details for every update. This time, it's the school closing bar at the bottom of the "screen" during the blackout picture. It's great! Also, the suburbs suffering from the blackout look great, too. River Market Plaza Driver looks great, too. Hopefully we can get a better look when the weather clears. Keep up the good work!
