yoder7652: Thanks! Expect many, many updates!

Voulpiotis: Thanks. Actually, they "technically" put snow in SC4, but it is so terribly plain and simple. For now I'm done with snow, and its time for spring!

Hawkeye9: Don't thank me for all of it, thank Adobe for so many great tools... I just use them the best I can... 'course they could have put a bit cheaper of a pricetag on it...

Cristian (asturianu): Thanks... I do try to add a little humor now and then, and I'm glad you enjoy the CJ!

jacqulina: Same to you with your uber awesome hand terraforming!

AfroThunda: Yeah, I actually tried to base it off of oneof hose amous Northeastern blizards we always here about on the news here in KC... but with a midwest twist...

Schulmanator: Yeah.... figured, if its gonna snow, its gonna SNOW!

thundercrack83: Yeah....  I love little details, and darn if they don't add a little spice to everthing. Thanks for the support!

crazychickensc12: Yeah, so do I! Thanks for the visit!!!!

    Now, to the update!

    ---------------------

    PGDOT Website Main Page:

    pg61mk2.jpg

In a bold move after the Great December blizzard, PGDOT officials began an ambitous highway project the like of never seen in Pine Grove... In the plan, every highway in all parts of the metro will be repaved by May 2009.

But, in a stunning move, many families across the metro have donated funds and miraculously, all of the project has been completed an amazing 2 years ahead of schedule. When many were asked why they donated to the project, the general census was that "... What happened out at the Midtown Interchange should never happen again..."

With the repaving complete, the PGDOT is now ready to move on to its next great project...

    The PG Light Rail Plan!

    --------------------

Except from the Pine Grove Herald:

Today marks the opening of yet another addition to Pine Grove's growing corporate world. Financial and personal tax leader, K&R Central, opened is doors today in it's new world HQ, located downtown at 8th and Prospect, just southwest of PG's entertainment district.

A spokesperson from K&R Central was quoted saying that with their move, the next big thing from the company will be home and medical insurance....

    pg62kv8.jpg

    -----------------------

    Main page of Gantin:

    pg63bc7.jpg

Introducing the new Gantin Midtown Memorial Stadium!

Our new stadium, built for the memory of those lost in the Midtown arson spree, has been constructed as part of the Midtown Restructuring Plan. Able to seat 28,000, Gantin hopes this stadium will be a lasting part of the city for many years to come!

    -------------------

TriTel article, Pine Grove Explorer magazine excerpt :

    pg64ws4.jpg

..... The Swiming Arena, banked by TriTel, is one step closer to, dare we say it, a Simlympic bid?

FInished Jan 2007, the arena, designed by world renowned Ill Tonkso, opened its door today to many of the area's children. Part of it's Make a Difference, TriTel is hoping to put in many more arenas, parks, and city buildings this year....

    ---------------

Wel, that's all for now. Stay tuned for more fun stuff to come!

Note: There is also a new update about two comments up!

Well....I'm planning on possible bid for the Simlympics, and so I've come up with a selection of my best Simlympic logos... let me know what you think.

(BTW, I'm partial to A myself)

    A.

    B.

First of all: very nice update! I wonder what it looks like in the highway tunnel where the two roads meat... 4.gif

    Now, the vote: C.

I think that A. perhaps looks a little better, but I don't associate it to any sort of sports event, it's more like the logo of a software company or something. C. on the other hand screams "SIMLYMPICS!"

Glad to see that storm finally passed over! Every time I come here, I'm impressed by your work. I also chuckle since I grew up about 15 miles from a town called Pine Grove in Pennsylvania. A few questions:

1.) Where can I find the overpass bridges with the trusses you've used to cross the sunken highway?

2.) The Gantin Midtown Stadium only holds 8,000 people??? I'm sure you could get at least 25,000 in there if the Royals were in town!

As for the Simlympic Logo, I'd choose C, but I would also make it bigger to the "Pine Grove" stand out more. Good luck on your bid, and I'll be anxiousky looking forward to your next update!

filasimo: Thanks! Looking forward to your next update too!

emelin: Yeah, imagine that the interchange looks like the elevated-ground highway interchange... all in all not too complicated. Yeah... I figured C would be more popular, but a is just so.... modern!

thundercrack83: You can find the overpass bridges here. Keep in mind they are only eye candy, and go with BuddyBud's and Jeronij's sunken highway sets. Also, that numer was a typo, thanks for catching it. The true number, if you cram everyone in there, is 28,000. Also, thanks for te adviceon the C logo...

jacqulina: Yeah.... I was sitting here wondering, what am I going to put there... and finally I figured, why not a stadium? Yeah, and if you look to the right of the swim center, there is the TriTel campus in Brookside!

    awsome work my friend.

for somereason the city looks very packed and cremed, but i can find the "head" and "toes" of it...and when i do, its brilliant planning!

    great job.

about the logos...well, B is a bit to "pictury" to be a logo, A somehow look a bit over used style, ill go with C!

    my vote: C

    keep it going!

First of all guys (and gals), sorry for the large delay in posts. I had lots of hours being put in at both my jobs, and too many crashed from the NAM. Don't get me wrong, I really love the NAM and it's been so crucial to me, but it does have some bugs.

    Now, the personal replies:

    luker91
: Yeah, I always try for my best, even if that means putting in a little extra time. Thanks for the post!

jesusloving: Well, even from your PMing I'm still alitleconfused about which stadium your talking about... I think you meanthe one on the first page, TriTel Stadium, which can be found on the STEX here.

DarkEldar: I would in no way destroy those buildings! Kansas City, which this city journal is based loosely off of has many abandoned downtown buildings, many of which are planned for renovation into urban housing. But, thanks for the post. 4.gif

DanTso: I'm not really sure what you mean by packed and cremed,  but I guess it's a compliment? Thanks for the post, and I look forward to more stuff from you.

jayo: Thanks. Yeah, lots of work has been put in here.... but its so worth it! I'm gonna put you down as A, mainly because I really like A 3.gif

bat: Thanks! I'll have a special surprise at the end of the post for your new nation!

b-dub1982: Thanks! I hope your CJ turns out great. God luck, and if you need any help, just let me know!

jacqulina: As always, you're a welcome sight to my CJ. Looking forward to the next update to your CJ, and as alway, you're always welcome in Pine Grove!

Dave The Hokie: OK, noted. 4.gif

RushHourFreak: Thanks. I'm basing it off of the KC Metro transportation system, which never really seems to have any major tie-ups... (I'm of course omitting I-435). Look forward to seeing you again!

Benedict: Well, to answer your question, check out this newest post.... riped straight off of the KC Developments Page 4.gif

    mightygoose:Thanks.... I think so too!

    crushedcar: Thanks!

    Well... the poll is in:

    A: 7
B: 0 (who been made that thing?!  oops me...3.gif)
    C: 8

So, C will be the logo officially used.... that is, unless the late votes show otherwise! (come on A)

    Well, now to the post....
    -------------------------
    pg71ce0.jpg
Kathy: Today was supposed to mark the opening of the new light rail line, but as you can see from this picture from the PGTV5 Chopper, rain, which has been falling all day, rained out the event. The rain, which is efecting much of the area still, has caused only minor delay in and out of the airport, and is exected to end around nightfall, making for a warm muggy night. We'll have more later in the forecast. Back to you, Gary.

Gary: PGDOT officials say that although they wish to reschedule the openeing ceremonies, they must get the new ligh rail open in hopes of getting ready for the upcoming Simlympic nominations, which PG hopes to be part of this year. City officials are still unsure if Pine Grove will be bidding for a nomination, but due to public responce, is working diligently towards a bid.

Janis: We've recieved thse photos from the PGDOT to show the newly finished terminal project, which is part of the Light Rail Plan. Asmany of you know PGI, which is a national hub, takes in an estimated 9.65 million pasengers every year.

    pg72kj2.jpg

Gary: Here you can see the Terminal A Sation, which is directly across for the newly opened Foreign Exchange Building. Terminal houses many of the nations international airlines. FInished in 1971, the terminal has seen only one major renovation, which was finished in 1998.

Janis: Terminal B, also know as the regional terminal, was finished in 1973, and has seen three major renovations. One in 1981, a second in 1993, and the last in 2000.

    pg75ph2.jpg

Gary: Third station on the list is is terminal C. A recent addition to the airport, the terminal is known as the new international terminal. Completed 5 years ago, this terminal has been a much used center in the airport.

    pg73nx5.jpg

Janis: The Foreign Exchange Building, home to the Pine Grove Foreign Consulate Offices, is also part of the new light rail project. Opened this year, Pine Grove hopes to have many nations flocking for space in this new, high tech building on prime real estate.

    pg76la6.jpg

PGDOT officials say that phase one of the four phase light rail project, wich consisted of a dedicated line from the airport to downtown is now complete, and phase two will begin later this spring.

Gary: Last, we'll leave you with a picture from the newly completed I-71 Airport Interchange. Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow.

    pg74un6.jpg
    ---------------------
Pine Grove is looking for countries and even other cities to fill the offices of the Foreign Exchange Building. If you would like to lease space in the building, please let the city know, and we'll be more thn happy to oblige!

             Thanks,
              Pine Grove City Hall

The airport looks magnificent and the light rail system looks great, too! I know what you mean about the NAM crashing all the time. I abandoned a light rail project in one of my cities because the crashing became too problematic. Hopefully it all works out for you, though, because from these pictures, it looks really good. Looking forward to more!

Merry Christmas everyone! Well, I have a bit of bad news.... I'm going to have to go with logo A....

I really, REALLY wish I could go with C, it looks great, and it's what the majority wnted, but it is a logo from a real city for the Olympics. Unfortunately, all logos must be original, and A is my original one. So, I really hope you guys can forgive me..... cause I really do wish I could give you guys what you want....

Anywho, I have another update in the works today, but I' not sure when it will be ready.. RL Christmas party at 3pm today and all. Well, sorry to disappoint, and hope you guys enjoy my next updates!
