I also would like some wooden stilletoes. I need them to look extra sharp for the Tuba Play-Off I'm heading up in Schulmania. Flames are extra. Come prepared to put some money in the tin cup if you want flames coming out of my tuba again! That first time was just a demonstration of my tuba playing powers. I am hoping to get ol' man Fledder to play the xylophone. Blackie can meow.

Thanks for sending the wooden galoshes so quickly. Um..I may want some wooden flipflops too. Sanding is extra you say?

Devonshire: St. George - Where the Elite Meet and Greet

    lakegeorgesealkf4.gif

With such an inviting environment, who wouldn't want to live in St. George? Other than a few residences in the commercial area along the waterfront, the vast majority of homes are on Church Street. Every home on Church Street backs up to a wooded green and the church grounds. The elevation of the street makes the homes farthest from the waterfront have the best view of the lake. Homeowners at the top of Church Street actually see the entire length of the lake from their back windows.

    churchst1rb6.jpg

These fine homes at the top of Church Street have some of the best views of any home in all of Schulmania. With expansive undeveloped woods across the street and private gardens in the rear, each house is brings the joy of nature right up to the comforts of home.

    churchst2ae0.jpg

Homes also have access to the wooded commons area - the church grounds.

    churchst4up8.jpg

At the southwestern end of Church Street, Scuppernong Academy provided quality instruction for children and adults. Mr. Cyrus Scuppernong is the school's founder and has developed the school into one of the most advanced in the nation. One of his finest pupils, a young Mr. Perry Quimans, recently graduated with highest honors and plans to duplicate the Scuppernong approach to advanced education at Perquimans Academy, to be founded soon in the Lake George area.

    churchst5kn1.jpg

The western side of Church Street gives residents views of beautiful trees as well as the lake. The tall brick mansion in the center of the picture is Linda Dio's home. She is one of the most sought after musical composers in Devonshire. Her most recent work, New Cradle of Filth Town, was a smash success in its Georgehampton debut.

    churchst6vv3.jpg

Looking down Church Street from the top of the hill, along the western side of town. Scuppernong Academy can be seen in the far right of the image.

    churchst7zb1.jpg

Some of the most successful business owners have taken up residence in this fabulous destination.

    churchst8va4.jpg

The northeastern corner of Church Street offers the same fabulous vistas as the rest of the area. No wonder everyone is so excited to visit!

    churchst10ax9.jpg

Along the eastern side of Church Street, fine homes grace the hillside near the church.

    churchst11nn2.jpg

Jacky lives in Georgetown, but lets her horses roam freely in the woods for their playtime. Sometimes they trot over to St. George. They don't cause any trouble, and the neighborhood kids love to pet them. But, you do have to watch your step walking down the street!

Now that we have seen where the elite greet. Let's see where they meet!

    downtown1mb5.jpg

At this intersection, busy Federation Square meets the homes of Church Street. The stone manse on the corner is home to the extended family of Admiral Miles Macintosh. The great discoverer's siblings and their children all live here. Many of his family members are also well known for their prowess in various endeavors. Perhaps you have heard of some of them? Quadra Macintosh (sister) and L. C. Macintosh III (brother) co-developed the printing press used in Schulmania. S. E. Macintosh (nephew) patented new formats for accounting in Schulmania. Claris Macintosh (ex-wife) was a prolific writer. Twins E. and I. Macintosh developed a courier system for Schulmania. Messages can be sent via horseback and by ferry for only 2 purrs anywhere in Schulmania. Delivery takes only 1-7 days.

    downtown2gl5.jpg

The Macintosh family home is perhaps the most imposing in town.

Equally imposing in its own way is the fabulous lakefront. Homes and businesses here are always popular and highly sought after.

    lakeview1vy3.jpg

    Simply stunning views.

    lakeview2hh1.jpg

Scenes like this spurred the growth of tourism in Devonshire.

    lakeview3wy7.jpg

Best of all, the water is always good for swimming!

    lakeview4ac0.jpg

With great shopping like Federation Square and beautiful lakeside vistas, who wouldn't want to spend a while in St. George?

football_fever The same thing happened to me last week when I was supposed to meet Archy for a quick bite. I might have to send a troop of search and rescue chimps after those two!

Jacqulina Thanks, as always, for coming by! Everyone loves seeing your horses trot over from Para... I mean... Georgetown! But, since I don't speak Neigh, I didn't catch the horse's name. Later, I read the signature slip from his credit card... "Mr. Ed"

sc4portugal Tell ya what... next week, let's head over to Belva's in Georgetown. It's the premier restaurant in the region. I hear they've developed a new dessert sensation: the Chocolate Wirdle. It's a cat shaped chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and drizzled in chocolate. The whiskers are made of chocolate candies and the claws from chocolate covered almonds. The fur is a triple chocolate mousse. Care to join me?

patriots_1228 Thanks, Alfred. Glad to see you back. Why don't you join me and SC4P for lunch next weekend? I'll treat you to a Chocolate Wirdle!

Homeandaway Thanks. Come back again soon!

Krio Thanks! And, you are welcome to join us at Belva's next weekend for Chocolate Wirdles. If we are hungry afterwards, then we'll order meals!

Asturianu Cristian!! Hester says to wait for her!! She's having a hard time running to the shore in those new wooden stilettos!

archesrule29 Thanks! You are too kind [blush]. As for your question... the answer is... very carefully!

I like the residential streets, so quiet and peaceful looking. A nice variety of homes also which adds to the realism.

Zelgadis The big reveal is coming soon! Very soon!

Lynx of Nekominkoku Cristian says the water is fine. But, the Supreme Wirdle and her minions share your aversion. BTW, if you are not busy, the Supreme Wirdle might want a visit... details forthcoming!

DioAngel ooooooooooh! Great idea! A sonata right on the waterfront at dusk. Sounds delish!

Homeandaway Thanks for helping Cristian! Poor guy forgot to take off his wooden cowboy boots before he dived in and they nearly dragged him to the bottom.

Rewright Thanks! I am glad you like it. I tried hard to get a decent variety that work well with each other. The Sims would rebuild the "wrong" building ~100+ times before I got the right one. It is frustrating when all are good but 2 or 3. But, finally... victory is mine!

Asturianu Cristian! Don't go in the water with your wooden cowboy boots on!

sc4portugal Devonshire is the colonial district to the east of Schulmanicus and northeast of Atkinos District. Currently, it is a 3 day sail between the Lake George port at Darkel by the Sea to the ports of Schulmanicus.

Bat Thanks! Always glad to have you fly by!!

El Burro You're back!! Hooray! Been wondering where you were. Glad to see you back in Schulmania. I will look forward to new stuff in your CJ as well.
