The link provided in this thread works, but the download links on the site are broken. I just reformatted and I am undergoing mod withdrawal. Does anybody know where else I can download this?

mteach2000: I'm not sure if you're still having problems with the shoreline.

I had the same problem when I removed the import mod file (a file used when rendering maps) from my plugin folder.

A long shot but maybe it helps... 1.gif

SC4 meister: Try sending Cycledogg a pm. If no one else did that...

Thanks Mr.Cinatit for the tree download links however, what i was talking about was the main mod itself. The main site whose link you have provided works however, the download links on that site do not. That is what most of the people who are saying the link dosn't work are also talking about i believe

i would say the links work for me...but that would be a complete lie...didn't even try them, sorry about that Mistro.
however, in CycleDogg's tree mod thread, i think he said the site is not his own...however, he thinks the bandwidth for the files may have been used up, and the files should be available at the beginning of next month. and i certainly hope so...those mods really are great.

on another note, i believe CycleDogg said this was an older modification...meaning he has been working on the present mod. this could be why he has yet to upload it to the STEX.

sorry about that, but hopefully the files will be available Wednesday.

The link to this mod I could not get with my Firefox browser. I had to use IE for the page to load correctly and to get to the download. I am not knowing if this would help anyones but I think I would share this.

RoddyC: Links are still broken.

Let's hope it'll work on Wednesday. But I do like the possibility of an update uploaded to the STEX.

mteach2000: Firefox does load the page correctly, at least mine do...

Okay I'm going crazy. Can anyone send the terrain mod files to me? My email is rodlosangelesATaol.com if anyone has some free time.

I deleted all my old boring cities, after seeing Jeroni's CJ. So now I've modded up my game with trees, walls, parks, and now I'm almost ready to start creating some real cities like his. I just need that darn terrain mod.

Anyway, I would be super grateful if someone could send it to me. 44.gif

I feel stupid now. The links all appear to be working correctly, but I swear I was trying to download the mod for 2 days with no success. Maybe CD's site just had its bandwidth restored for the start of the month?

I also have a quick question. Is there supposed to be any change to the water texture with this mod? I still have the default Maxis blue, however I do have the new grass, cliffs, beaches, etc.

Jeroni, what water mod do you use? I really like the look of the water in your CJ.

I am having a slight problem ever since I installed Cycledogg's Modd.

Whenever I create a new region with the Plains feature on, the original map of the region looks plain. But when I enter a city to terraform it, it is entirely covered with water.

Is this a problem? I am having difficulty terraforming new regions because of this. Am I doing anything wrong? Or is this a graphical problem with my PC?

aasim45: There is an updated file attached to one of my posts on the previous page of this thread.  That will fix this problem.1.gif

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to finish a new version of the terrain mod.  But the majority of the textures, etc are already in the old mod (the one everyone has been using).  I'll be gone most of the summer so it will be fall/winter before I get around to releasing anything new.15.gif

First off, CycleDog this is one of the greatest modds ever created for simcity. Amazing! 44.gif I installed it a little while ago and It just looks great, I've been createing a new region for a cj. I have unfortunately had a terrible problem. After editing several cities in my region, I went back into one of them which had trees already placed (but the city haden't been started yet, still in god mode) and the terrain was a different colour. I went back to the region and it was still that colour, it didn't fit with its neighbouring cities and looked odd. Its a light brown colour (with a bit of green in it) I later found out that the slopes were the origional green colour (usually the colour of the flat area) and the flat areas were the browner colour that the slopes should be. This has ruined one of my regions because a city I spent ages terraforming now doesn't match with the rest of the region. No matter what I do it doesn't go away, the only way I've found the put it back is too delete the city which I was forced to do. But then it hapened again to another city! I'm really, really stuck. Please help.

I am using the main columbus files, except I used CycleDogs trees from the STEX. I also am using a PEG rock mod. Please help, I really love this mod and I really want it for a cj. I don't understand why it isn't working... Thanks.. choco. 1.gif

Skytearer: I also have noticed that the water-textures in the Columbus Mod are quite blocky. I countered this problem by using PEG's Windjammer Water Mod . It looks great now. Try It.

CycleDogg's terrain changes color thru the seasons 44.gif

just advance the time a bit (till around december/january) and the terain should be back to the original green color

or you could pause the simulation during God Mode terraforming

Chocolate Max,

The change in the landscape has something to do with the game's terrain moisture settings. During the summer months in my cities, it turns dry like in picture B. The rest of the year it looks like picture A. I guess it is supposed to reflect the dryness of the summer months or something. Personally, I don't mind the changing landscape as it acurrately reflects the climate around where I live. During the summer, the grass drys out and becomes crunchy. Starting in the fall, the rains return, making the grass green again. Just my observations though. CD based his textures off of the terrain around Colombus, Montana, USA. I live in Washington State, two states away.

What a fantastic texture mod. The tree's are superb too. I am another that is having a problem with the beaches, as mine dont show up anymore. I gather that all I have to do is remove the CP_ColumbusBeachCliff.dat file, however I still would like to keep the underwater pebble texture. Is there any chance you'll make that underwater texture seperate so we can still keep our original beaches?

EDIT: I'm almost having trouble with my water edges being blocky. Is there a fix, or does it require certain water texture mods, as someone previously mentioned?

If you're talking about the Mayor Mode trees, this should be of no consequence.

From my own experience though, what will happen if you have two different sets of god mode trees, they will tend to mix (I had the PEG pines mixing with the Columbus Mod Trees at one point).

However, I would advise not to do it. It doesn't look so good, and you don't get to see much of CycleDogg's trees.

I also have problems med blocky water edges. I've tried different water mods, but that didn't help. Any ideas?

EDIT: Here is a picture that shows how it looks with one of PEG's water mods installed:

EDIT2 8/23/2005: The problem is fixed. I had to reformat and reinstall everything on my computer - long story - but one positive thing about it is that I don't have this problem any more.  1.gif
