Great update Choco.

Very nice pictures a bit omnious though. I like the way you enhanced the grey/black and white effect!

One remark I cannot keep inside:

You wrote: The huge industrial harbour imports millions of gallons of oil a year, which keep Gold Depra running"

Next picture you see is an empty highway / Avenue + elevated train + railway.

Sorry, this contradiction was too good not to mention.

Have a great Weekend Choco!!

Choco,

What really gives this small project its flavour is the stone cold feeling of it. There seems to be no life in this greedy nation.

I commend you on your fine, fine efforts!

Well done,

Owen

That is a great update! How can I put it... nice doesn't describe it fully. Of cource, not nice in a pretty way, nice from a sort of capitalist perspective. Well anyways, it's lookin' real good here, so I will be looking forward to the next update!

Also, are those oil tanks of of the STEX? Thanks!

it feels very... depressing, really getting across the fact Gold D. is a country that may well be on the fast track to self destruction but is too ignorant to realize it.

Do you have any plans for the demise of this place, or would rather not disclose info like that?

Anyways, it all looks so clean and sterile. I am Imagining what we are not seeing yet is a crowded slum with working class people packed together in small apartments...am I right? or is Gold Depra more middle class?

Wow, Gold Depra is really awsome CJ, but in my opinion it is little bit strange, I have not seen any car on the roads of your city.I suppose, that only members of Party are allowed to own a car, or aren't they? 4.gif))

Great work Max, but I would not like to live there, as I'm sure none of the CO's of those big corporations!

Awaiting for more!

I love the grunginess of all of the pictures, not to mention the combination of capitalism and dictatorship that Gold Depra gives off.

Excellent work, in some ways I like Gold better then Green. 5.gif

Absolutley erm...how do I say this? Gritty but...very detailed? Yes! Ah, I can see how the Empire of Greed makes it money--through big dirty corporations polluting the land and paying low wages to its workers!

Gold Depra?! Ha! The colors remind me of dust and dirt!

Very nice update, choco.

Jeeze I would not want to be the capitan of the ship in the first pic. Must be a )*(*& backing out!

Good work again. One of the advantages of you making the pics greyish is that the texture differences between the ground and dirt and prop grass isn't visable. Good work with that!

Ibella Oil hey ... very cool use of the SOMMY industrial lots.

So much detail in every picture... great to see.

I'm not happy about the "Consumed by black fog of oil" comment at the bottom ... I guess your lucky that Gold Depra isn't part of the SJU, or else I'd have to send over the EPA police to shut you down ....hehe...

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.

Thanks everyone for the gracious comments!  There will be a brand new update for all you fans this week!

    Links you requested:

Pegasus’ website (location of rail mod) http://www.jphayden.com/pegprod/forums/portal.php

crazychickensc12 Thanks for opening the page! Thanks, it’s a bit of a love-hate thing isn’t it! Heh!

Bat Hey mate! Woot! Congrats on the 900 awesome posts! Oh, and thanks for throwing me in your sig mate! The rail mod is by Pegasus and used to be on the STEX, unfortunately I think it was lost. But you can still find a copy on his website, and there is a link to that in the links section at the top. Cheers!

Nik-nik Hey mate! Thanks very much for always stopping by my journal and making me smile! I hope you had a great weekend! Ah, very good point! Umm… hehe, well… my excuse for that is it was late at night! That’s it! Cheers mate.

Wouanagaine Hey! Thanks, glad you liked the style!

Owenluby Ah yes, I was really aiming for the exact opposite of Green Depra: cold, greedy and dirty. Thanks for the comment mate! Oh and I’ve done a little lurking in your new journal and I think it looks great!

yoder7652 Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it.

Ilikehotdogsalot Yeah, I felt like a little like some contrast so I came up with this. Glad you liked it!

connor_v Thanks for the comment! I guess its nice in a totally evil kind of way. Hehe. Um, some of the tanks are by SOMY which is on a Japanese site, I think there is a link somewhere in the Gigantic Japanese BAT Gallery thread, and others are by randoms that you can find by searching tank on the stex. Goodluck!

hamsterTK Oh yeah exactly, that’s the mood I’m going for and its great to see you think about that. Oh… I have plans… but I can’t disclose them just yet. Gold Depra is a huge contrast between the really, really rich who live in giant mansions and the poor proles that live in the slums. So we will visit them eventually. There is also a small middle class, but they are quite ignorant.

Menotyou Oh, very small… but the corporates don’t care about that!

zachos-prague Oh, it is very strange! But just think of it as all these photos were taken at two in the morning! Well, only those who can afford cars use them, and only those in the party have any money, so go figure!

Darmok Oh yeah, you’d be hard pressed to find a corperate hanging about down there! Thanks for the several comments and support mate! Take care.

patriots_1228 Thanks glad you liked it!

Dark_Jedi06 Oh, very interesting! I have created something too good then! Lol! Thanks, you like exactly the style that I was going for!

SpecialEddie Hehe, it is very true that they have washed away what made the country gold, but the money is still gold and they have plenty of that! Yep, they sure are bastards! Thanks!

Tommiej Thanks! Glad you liked the refinery.

Micah Haha! Well, that’s an interesting idea! Thanks for the comment mate.

Goin2Chicago Thanks Chicago! Glad you enjoyed it!

Yoman3 Haha! Yeah, I imagine it is! Yeah, I like that effect, I though it made the dirt and grass more realistic. Cheers.

Fischbob Hehe, sorry! I’ll try to stop! Thanks.

    Dadyrghluv Thanks for the comment!

Fox Hey fox! Oh yeah, I love SOMYs lots! They are always so detailed! Oh no, they don’t like the SCJU very much, and they are way below our environmental standards! And some people wonder why Green Depra hates them! Hehe, cheers mate.

Ccecill Hey! Well, I’m a Photoshop man myself! I use a series of adjustments from photoshop. Thanks!

    Cheers, choco!

I found some time to explore the CJ section a bit and I was drawn back to this one. As much as I think you have done an excellent job with Green Depra, I am fascinated with Gold Depra. The seal is phenomenal, as is the austere building and image presentation style. It reminds me of what the USA might be like if it were an empire and not a democracy.
