allez l'om: Thanks! I picked it because it was a corner building. The real building is vacant now, but at one time it probably held a number of different shops!

Francis90b: All of these are inspired by buildings along Hamilton Avenue in Highland Park. Here are the first two (16165 and 16171 Hamilton). And here is the building that inspired the newest one (16000 Hamilton). I admit I took some liberties on the new one (namely: making it about 3 times deeper than the original) but I think I stayed true to its spirit. I also plan on adding the wrap-around canopy.

nofunk! Great work lately. I'm about able to design an entire city with nothing but your buildings and I do like that. ;-) Looking forward to more!

DragonAnime: Thanks! That's a great compliment!

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I actually started playing the game again! (Which is why we all BAT, right?) But I'm getting back to some of my projects now.

I've done quite a bit of new work on the third Highland Park commercial building, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Also, I plan on changing the other two commercial buildings so they don't look so deep and boxy. In the end, I may end up releasing all versions with different textures, just to help diversify the commercial selection some more.

    Lookin' good!

I don't mind "deep and boxy" as long as the fit the tiles reasonably. I'm trying to wrap my head around why the highlights on the right facade are reflecting so much brighter than the left (in direct light). Doesn't look bad, just odd to me 3.gif

allez l'om: Thanks! That is exactly what I'm trying to do!

This is actually the west viewport... could that be why the right facade is bright? (This is going to be a left corner lot.)

OK! I need opinions! Does everyone like the deeper, or shallower version of this building? The deeper one is a 1x2; the shallower one is a 1x1. Both are wall-to-wall.

I'm looking for ideas on the DEPTH ONLY. Don't pay attention to differences in the textures or sign.

(Keep in mind, the deeper version means less work for me! 2.gif)

Hmmm. It's a tough decision for me, but I like the deeper version. I agree with what SimHoTToDDy said. And besides, I think we can all use some deeper buildings. So many BATs and Maxis buildings are too stubby and are not deep enough for certain city blocks in game. You know what I mean?

May we have both, please...?  they would work in differing locates. the 1x1 could also be a corner, with a parking/service back... they both look good

    Hi All!

So it sounds like the general consensus is for the deeper buildings, so those are what I'll release first. But I imagine eventually I'll put out some sort of "extras" upload with the shallower buildings. Maybe with different textures too... we'll see!

The buildings are done, and just going through final tweaks and testing! Here's a teaser.

I'm just a group of atoms typing this.

    What do I know?

Hey everyone! I'm really glad that you all like the Bronx County Courthouse! It took a lot of self-control to keep it under wraps for so long, but it was worth it! 4.gif

As you probably already know, the Hamilton Avenue Shops have been released under the BSP logo!

This weekend I started a little something new:
