In regard to the mid rises, I like the version that was released with the pack more than the other two modified versions. The first mod is too warm, and the second one is too cold.

The HMM, however, is coming along very nicely. But doesn't it look a little too "cloudy" for Hong Kong?

wow! Well I think that the new Sun is a little better, but I can back you up, Bixel, that the Night would be a little too dark, especially for a filler piece of one of the most densest cities in the world.

As for the HMM: Looks amazing! Was there ever a previous render?

@Shinkansen1: How do you mean cloudy? Remember, HK has a huge waterfront, if you meant reflection wise

I'm sorry but the new rigs have exactly same problems old ones had:

1. day rig shadows are absolutely color neutral. And light still coming from down under.

2. night rig is absolutely flat - see that cube rendered with old one - new one is just the same only a bit darker.

"Like" is a tricky thing. People can like all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons. That doesn't mean that these reasons are always good and justified. In this case you're making models for a game, so these models should fit general environment of this game rather than "Hong Kong". Besides Sunny Hong Kong's shadows are, none the less, blue (on a sunny day). In fact without blue in a shadow you sunny side will never look sunny. And the render of HMM is a striking proof of this. Your other buildings look "sunny" just because you use those candy like colors. Once you step away (and you have to) since you are now re-creating rather than just "envision" it ain't no sunny. In fact it looks like on very overcast polluted day - of this there are (truth to be said) plenty in HK

How many buildings are you currently working on at once?

Thank you so much HONG KONG, but I already have the roof finished.. the upscale bistro SEVVA is on the top floor now.. so it looks very very very different. I didn't get the equipment and stuff exactly right - but my renders are already done - and it looks pretty close.

Neat! 4.gif However, shouldn't that red vertical thing to the left be a tad smaller? There's also a column of small windows between it and the balconies to the right, which I don't see in your model. Last but not least, it appears to me that that red thingy to the right should stick out a bit further.

HMM is about ready to go - I just need to figure out how the Night is gonna look - now that I've fixed my Night Rig to blend much more smoothly with the game - I need to re-render Prince's building because I used a bad Night Rig - you'll notice the night looks very gray in that render. HMM is pretty large and my rendering patience with such a big building is low hahahaha that's only reason I havent finished it yet.

SimFox @ Twrecks I am aware of those issues and they will be corrected - this should be a pretty cute little pencil tower - tho very modern - I think its a 2x2 might make it R$$$

    might get finished tomorrow

Another Test of the HMM - I still dont know how I feel about it..

Ah yes, the STEX description got all truncated and messed up during the move from ST 5.0 to ST 6.0. The information is still in the included readme file, though.

Bixel, have you been working on smaller projects behind the curtain, as well as your typical residential behemoths?

I also got 2-3 buildings going at the same time, and if I accidentally drink too much coffee - I might automatically do a pencil tower in one day just cause I have nothing else to do.
