    Basin City Update

Here's a collection of images from some of the developed area in Basin City's suburbs.

    update33ky4.jpg

    update34nb5.jpg

Finally, we'll end it off with a couple more region shots on how the place is coming along.

Just Click the thumbnails for some larger views (don't worry, they're not very big size wise 4.gif )

Hope you enjoy! Sorry I can't get around to comments tonight, I'll grab those later. I got a long day tomorrow.

the pics with the effects are cool and all but that region view is freaking sick

please tell me you plan to do one big city and a massive sprawl that would look

great i can tell where you have massive suburbs planned, one tip if you are it to

maybe plan out your CBD a bit just to get some of those new suburbs a commute

path this should help you avoid those no job zots, looks great, AK

    jacqulina -Thanks

    Tommy_Vercetti3 -Thanks!

    collgab -Thank you!

Goin2Chicago -lol! I guess it does, I love doing them, and can't wait til I get bigger areas to show.

    chocolatemax285 - Thanks Choco!

aleking -Yeah the plan is to do a realistic looking city complete with miles of sprawl, surrounded by farmland and a couple small towns. I'm examining google map images to make it as real as possible.

cityhawk -Glad you liked that shot! It was kind of an after thought that I thought would be kinda neat. Grats on post 3000 btw! 39.gif

ginchael -I plan on making that farm special somehow, like completely done in the lot editor or something.

Great start! And nice idea for the storyline to get inspired by the great Frank Miller. I always loved epecially SinCity because it is so black, strong and "sugarfree" - like I drink my coffee ... 2.gif

Great Farming layout and I like how you develope your city starting from the fams!

Got to have an eye on this....!!! 38.gif

If ever "shock and awe" was a suitable expression it is now. What a fantastic pictures! The suburbs and farms ... just superbly placed and as realistic as I have seen in any other journal. The use of graphics in the story part of the journal .... can you say DARK? ... I love it.

Is there any icon showing a jaw dropping on the floor?

Unfortunately not. It would be really useful to express my feelings after seeing that CJ for first time.

If I wanted to be original in my comment I would need to say that this is bad. I like to be original. But I just can't!

But, oh, no, no, no, I know how I can be original! I know what is bad in this CJ! You're putting so much impressive content in one page so you can't really focus on one thing! You have to see it all at the same time, because you don't want to miss any pictures while you're seeing different one!

And there is also another bad thing. You're making people stay in your thread for sooo long time, just staring at bunch of pictures... making people forget about eating, sleeping... making people to want more and more of this CJ!

I'm one of those infected people. And you know what? Even if there is any way to became not addicted to your CJ anymore, I don't want to know it. I love being addicted to the work you're showing.

I'll just keep looking forward to more of that! And keep looking at the pictures 1.gif

    Animation2.gif

I made this little animation with both your CJ and Dedgren's Three Rivers Region in mind. I plan to use it whenever I find it fit, and that last update was definately, in the words of that slack-jawed smiley up there, "Kickass."

so much great-looking stuff. I see that this is in a state that uses mileage-based exits rather than sequential exits - there's no other way you can get an exit 203.

I especially love the way that the suburban sprawl appears to be eating up the farmland.

Wow, absolutely incredible. Looks realistic and reminds me of suburban Ottawa. Good job. I wish I had that much skill/talent. Keep it up.

Wow! This is a good CJ! Hope to see downtown soon! A little food for thought, in the movie, there was a road sign that said 'Interstate 287, Basin City', I just thought I'd mention that since your Basin City is set south of Seattle, WA.

aleking - Great minds think alike! lol

SpecialEddie -Wish I could get back to it so quickly, but they take a lot of time to do.

Nardo69 -Glad to see you like the style too! I normally always develop this way. I just can't seem to start with downtowns for some reason.

jacqulina -Thanks, I'm glad you liked the stones! I see a lot of rocks in fields that aren't cared for, so thats why I decided to throw them in.

NicolaiS -Thank you for the kind words! Yes, the style will imitate the story, very dark.

szarkoz -lol! Thanks for the great words szarkoz. I'm glad you like my CJ so much.

ElBarto92 - Thanks for the "Unique" reply! Glad you liked it so much! I'm a fan on Dedgren's journal as well, and he was the one who inspired me in using the plop water.

    GMT -Thanks!

yoder7652 -Glad you liked the shot from the *****pit of the helicopter, I thought it would be kinda neat to throw in there.

    waldner -Thanks!

    collgab -Thanks!

    cowcorn -Thanks!

Sim shady -Thanks, I'm glad you love the style of it.

    bat -Thanks

owenluby -Glad my story hooked you 31.gif. It is something I haven't seen done in any CJ's before, and thought I could bring something new to the table in the forms of stories.

pickled_pig - Yeah, around where I am, you'll come to a sign that will say "Blah City, Next 6 exits" and then the exits will be done like 274, 276, etc.

Skyfire2275 -Thank you. Most of these 'burbs were inspired by Toronto's, which would essentially be done the same. There's just a lot more of the sprawl 4.gif

    ThomasAH -Thanks
