aaronperry: Glenni, and a number of other people have a problem with your criticism, not because it's negative, but because it's subjective. Next time, try perhaps to make your criticism a little bit more constructive. For example, mention things that make the image less realistic and believeable, rather than pick out buildings and other things that you don't like.

This goes for everyone that posts in this topic as well. Criticism is great, as long as it's as objective and constructive as possible.

ILL Tonkso: 7/10, looks good, however i dont really like the general look of the commercial. I did something similar with the bridges in my CJ by digging a small hole using the mayor mode terraforming tools to dig a small hole, then i used the rain tool and the bridge hight modd to build a bridge. And then too finish i used overhanging PEG pond pieces.

Wow, I really like that Ill Tonkso. My only crit is the rail bridge has no supporting pillar... dunno why but it looks a little wrong. 8/10

Great pic El Burro, 8/10, it would have been 9/10 if not for the dip in the railroad near the cargorailyard.

Nice feel indeed

El burro - Pretty nice picture, maybe for the better effect and look of a slum I would get rid of all the greenery (that means also the green colour by editing the picture). Not bad, not bad, 7/10.

Well, I wonder what will you say about this picture? A 6MB big overview of my CJ, Caledonia. You need to click on the picture to get it in full size.

Cool bridge haljackey. I can tell that you just put a one way bridge next to a highway bridge but the game wont let me place bridges next to each other. How did you do it? 8/10

szarkoz  - Amazing 10/10. May I trouble you to ask where you got the El Rail Terminus a little below the downtown and a little to the left?

Yoman - you can find that terminal here. Just click on BAT on the left side.

About your second question, I'm sure that those two bridges aren't next to each other, the road one is below the highway one. Look at the shadows on the water, there's a one tile of space between them.

It's been a while since I rated anything, mainly because I haven't had a picture to share. I still don't have one that's up to your scrutiny yet, but I've got some time for a rundown of P23 before I get bumped to P24 1.gif

marcszar: I like this picture, it captures the European style nicely. However, the highway and retaining walls, while probably necessary to your city, looks a little incongruous next to all the old buildings. Still, that's progress for you.... 8/10

mjig_dudy: I think this had the potential to look nice, but whatever filters or editing you put over it kind of spoilt the picture. I can't actually work out what half of it is supposed to be.... 4/10

ILL Tonkso: Dare I say it but your picture looks a bit plain compared to some of the other offerings here! I like the rail bridge (hooray for new toys!) and the riverbank treatment. The stuff I'm not keen on is mostly a function of the game itself (like straight river banks), although the gantries look a bit out of place on the masonry bridge. Logistically, its probably unavoidable on the right-hand abutment due to the proximity of the intersection, but I feel the left-hand gantry would be better moved off the bridge to the left. Still, clinical in the execution, and a nice picture overall.... 7½/10

El Burro: Nice! Something a little different, and you've done it well too. I can just see the garbage, loitering bums, and graffiti. The only little problem I can see is the small dip in the rail line to the left of the crane. Good stuff!.... 9/10

szarkoz: It's still loading. Still loading... 41.gif Still loading... OK, its done now! First, let me say, that's an impressive, realistic region you've put together - I can only really nitpick. Your skyscrapers have a little too much space between them for my liking - its about the only part that doesn't look totally realistic. It needs some more medium-rise buildings in between to fill out some of the spaces. That and I'd like to meet the cruise ship captain that can put a ship that size in there!.... 9½/10

cityhawk: I'm not entirely sure what to make of it either. It looks a bit like a collage of different landscapes - the water texture is too uniform, especially near the banks (no depth perception), the rocky stuff on the banks doesn't blend well into the forest - it should really be one or the other, and the rocks between the road and rail seem kind of pointless - there are too few rocks to be 'rocky' and too many to be like random rocks. I'm not sure what your purpose was there. The stream outlet under the road also looks like an industrial outfall of some kind, so if you can do that with a factory on top your onto a winner  2.gif I do like the double transmission lines on the lower right. I see that sort of thing around a lot with high-voltage lines, but not many people put that into their game.... 5½/10

haljackey: Ah congestion, how we hate it! Your picture is actually notable to me for more than its traffic troubles. The cluster of bridges you've got doesn't look quite right to me. Realistically they'd be a little further apart. Then there's the street and buildings at the top, which do look right. Maybe its the gradient on the street, but that small piece just looks good. And finally what looks like a single tile of parking on top of the lower bridge between the towers -what's up with that?.... 7/10

And to answer Yoman3, I think it's an elevated highway one tile away from an at-grade one-way road - it's the perspective that gives the impression that they're together.

ilikehotdogsalot: That is a great picture. I had to look long and hard at your picture to find anything potentially wrong, and could only come up with something that some botany expert will immediately refute - if that tree has red leaves it must be autumn, right? So how come the other trees (which don't look particularly evergreen) have green leaves? OK, so I'm stretching things a bit.... 9½/10

I'm glad I could end things on that note 44.gif

<edit> Damn! Missed the page by 1!

Nice layout and all, but I hate it when seaports look like a plastic toy set a kid might have. I prefer PEG's lots...
