meta: 9/10, I love grungy looking seaports 9.gif

Thundercry - I'm using that same mod that you have, which grows those trees on the sidewalk. For some reason, I don't have one of the trees and I get a brown box, any clue what that mod was called? I can't find it on the stex, and I need the dependency...

LP, I used those rail-side dirt filler tiles last night and it looked nothing like what you have gotten 15.gif The one I have is a set of like 7-8 squares. It also appears as though there's no difference between any of them, they all wind up looking like garbage. You must be using a much better one..

The set is exactly the same. It gives you one blank filler lot, one single-rail overhand, one double-rail overhang... and diagonal versions of the overhangs for a total of 5 lots. I'm not sure what you're doing "wrong", but pm me with a picture and I might be able to help you out.

LP nice triple post 3.gif but thats not the point lol, i use the same lots also...and i think the textures do change because i use the green rail texture from NOBs site, and the filler lots and overhangs have the same texture to match my original..

I'll post a pic tonight if I remember. Whenever I try it, it looks really, really bad.

EDIT: This is what I was talking about:

Here's some old school Aquaville, I know there is some blank space, but there is nothing I can do about that now...

very nice image i knew uw as working on somin! i like this alot im picky so normalyl iw ould comment on the rail not leaving the city right but hey, very nice image u ahve taken on board wat we have said and it really has shown the improvement in ur pictures. 9.9/10

    oldmag.gifGary Colligan

Strangly i love it, it looks really realistic, the only thing is house colour really too much variety, if u look closely tho its realisitic. 8/10

    tiger-regal_80%20by%2080.jpgWaz_Up_Tiger

welcome back, please give reason for ur ratings! 4.gif i know what ur trying but due to maxis it doesnt work, those clean straight perfect grey streets ruin the atmosphere. 7/10

    Tulsa23.JPGseemurray2

i like this image, again give reasons for ur rating,

i like the lighting but when its finished i would love to re-rate the undeveloped space looks odd enxt to those 6-7 tower buildings. 7/10

Ooooh, I'm definitely liking the simplicity and realism of it. Streets are a bit, barren though...

Anyway, once again, another pic from me... basically the same area, just from a different angle, zoomed out, png instead of jpeg, and no menu thing. 3.gif

You can see how it fits together there.

ILL Tonkso 9/10 mate i love its realism but it needs people in the park and cars parked outside houses.

LP again with the bridge also, don't need to have it paused 8.9/10 ur getting there i wana see some of ur other stuff tho.

ILL Tonkso:6/10 There's not much going on, Looks too plopped and dead. It would be cool to maybe see a few trees on the streets, cars and a train on the rail tracks.

LP: 9.9/10 It looks great! You made a great little city! I like the little train with the smock stack, Just try not to pause the game, Show us some more pictures.

Hehe, thanks guys. First off... it was paused so I could make sure I did the picture right... and to get the train which I think makes up for it.

aaronperry... the bridges move, get over it 3.gif but really, I don't have much control over them, and I like them to be open to show motion.

The city is done for the most part. I have a few pockets to fill in and then its done. However... its going under some development right now with the zones, so I'll see what I can come up with. As you might be able to tell from the pictures, I'm quite the perfectionist.

    EDIT:

I'm down a full gig of ram for a few days, so hers a smaller and older city of mine. Its been upgraded several times, but its still not good in my opinion.

Hrm... looks pretty damn good in greyscale.

But eh... I was going for a modern look, and then it sorta... exploded... Well, literally at one point. (note the mountain.... yeah, volcano)

    Toroshima-Sep4.jpg

This was the last bit of new development ever in the city. Now that... thats european.

LP- Nice pic. Reminds me of my earlier cities... i've got out of building skyscraper jungles now, doesn't seem appealing anymore. Half a point off for the no job zots 3.gif 7.5/10

Ilikehotdogsalot- Great urban closeup, made better being black & white. The diagonal road is a nice touch too, makes me think of quiet alleys that are lined with cafe's. A point off for the contemperary buildings (im just nit picking now 3.gif ), look much better with just Chicago and New York building styles, looks older and nicer for b&w. 8/10

LP- Again very nice. Good you don't have the other pavement textures that I do... they don't look that great with GLR. Plus, its nice to see your not too afraid to use the GLR, extra point, heh... that horrible crash is easily avoided, don't know why people complain 3.gif 9/10

Heres mine, the early morning commuter smog from the highway slowly creeping towards a slum-

Here are some picture ratings for the entire page...

LP: Picture 1: Good, putting something on the hill would be good, maybe some kind of park or observation point, 8/10. Picture 2: Good use of the GLR, 8/10.

ilikehotdogsalot: The use of an older building theme and greyscale is great, 9/10.

El Burro: Picture 1: Well made picture, the walls you have used with it blend in well, 8/10. Picture 2: Good again, 8/10.

Yoman3: Excellent, more cars would be good but it is realistic anyway 2.gif, 9/10.

capitol1: Those were the... uh, diagonal road-top set, thing... yeah... search for road-top on the STEX. 3.gif

Camaron: Eh, I like the mountain as is. And like I said, GLR is quite awsome.

*yawn* So tired... so very tired...

Ah, yes, belive I haven't shown this one.

Quite nice... I'd like to know where you get all your oil refinery things from. All I've found is a chimney and some pipes.

Anyway... I said it wasn't done, and I just had that thing kicking around, didn't nesicarily take it for this. 3.gif It was more for what had been done... but eh. Thanks anyway though, hopefully I'll finish it off one day.
