Water texture corrected (the previous texture looked too plastic).  Too bad I don't have 3D Studio Max to do object reflection over water, it would look awesome 3.gif

Hey! This got moved to the Transit network fourm! Good idea, think it belongs here!

Anyways, could the grass be a little greener (like the maxis open grass area)?  That way it would blend better with the surroundings in the city.  Just a comment!

Got a bit of a question here...

I know we briefly touched on this subject before relating to the sunken transition that has both rail and highway tunnel portals on it, but here it goes:

Is it possible to have a lot that has both road and rail/el-rail tunnel entrances, but be able to separate the two traffic?  Like for example, if a tunnel has both rail and road on it, I do not want traffic coming from rail running into big dig tunnel's subway past the tunnel entrance.  I want rail traffic to remain in a subway designated specifically for rail traffic, and road traffic to remain in subway specific for road traffic.  possible? 4.gif

No, this won't work, unfortunately. Every Big Dig lot works basically like a subway station, converting incoming traffic to subway passengers (and the other way round). That's why you also need only one subway tube, even with the ground highway tunnel entrance, which looks better in the underground view with two parallel tubes. There is only one subway connector (the grey concrete square) on each lot, and I doubt there's a way to change that.

unless you modded it as two separate subways stations on two adjacent tiles i dont see how you could keep the traffic separate

You could have one, e.g. the highway part, have an overhanging prop, and then have the rail part just be invisible, and have the user plop it next to the highway part, which would make it look like it was one lot.

well basically i'm thinking of recreating the Leverett tunnel portals, where it has both elevated rail (green line) and road going underground both at the same time, parallel to teach other.

I suppose I could make a model that only converts road traffic, but have the elevated rail transition act as an eye candy overhanging lot that can cover up the Maxis's elevated->subway transition placed right next to it?

Here is my planned next BAT project:

Essex Street I-93 NB On-Ramp between Chinatown and Financial District.  This ramp was first constructed in 1959-early sixties during part of the original Central Artery project where part of that elevated artery was put underground and tunneled (known as the Dewey Square Tunnel).

Since then, in 2005, rehabitation and refurbishing work for all of Dewey Square ramps, including this one has been completed and reopened to traffic after being closed for so long.  The new refurbished Dewey Square ramp, renovated by the Big Dig project features new concrete coating to make it nice and neat, and ITS equipments (such as VMS signs, approach lights, etc).  You can see that the tunnel entrance itself, b/c of vastly older design has much lower clearance and width than most other Big Dig on-ramps which are built new from scratch:

The above ramp before the Big Dig renovation began,  Just see how dirty it was 2.gif

Ew. i wouldnt want to walk through that. seeing this makes me realize that the maintenance cost for the entire big dig project must be staggeringly high.

    yeah, i think so too.

blahdy: mybe yuo could split those 2 and make 2 transtitions: one rail 1 ground hwy. to my knowledge you cant connect 2 TE lots, but you can place them next to each ohter so they run along.

    anyways looks good!
