Never seen a Hooter's but this looks great. I love the deck area lighting especially.

All your commecials grow well although it can be a pain sometimes when 5 Publix all grow next to each other! The bullodozer comes in very handy

As others have said if only we could really control which growables grow. I know we can do it with plops but it's not the same as watching a building grow. The surprise element especially waiting to see new lots grow is all important.

Thanks all!  I had a little fun making this one; had to do a few custom textures, and I'm getting the hang of it.

 

The Hooters sign is a cutout. I picked it up somewhere; but I generally make a box and apply the logo, set that window so it shows the texture, move the box back so the grids show in front of it, and trace the parts I want to use. It's a little tedious at times, and getting curves right is more so. I then attach everything together, and extrude it out.  Deadwoods, you probably knew all that, but maybe someone else didn't....

 

I think it's funny that some consider this business controversial.  Of course, that just seems to help them out.  It's a fun place, and they have really good wings!

Hey!

First off, your work is amazing! I love the suburban feel (like where i live) added to the game!

I'm sure this has been mentioned before in the 20 or so pages but i'm having a problem in that most of the stores created parking lots are missing and in their place is just plain grass- making it look unrealistic. How do i change this? Again- sorry if this is being repeated!Thanks!

Hi Basas,
Welcome to Simtropolis. You are missing a prop pack. As said below it is recommended you download all of these packs but at a minimum it sounds like you are missing the BSC PEG Texture Pack Vol 01 pack. Just copy and paste that into the search on the Exchange and it should bring that pack up. Have any problems just come back and i will help you.

Dependencies: These files should be in your Maxis/Plugins folder. They are prop packs released on the SimTropolis Exchange (STEX), that are used by many lots. They may not all be in use on this lot, but it would be a good idea to have them.

Hooters should be up in a few hours, as well as Tesco and Wilson Farms.

 

I have a few more supermarkets under consideration, but I think that no matter how many I make there will always be someone else who would like to see another.  For the moment, there probably won't be any more.  I do still have a Champion under development, perhaps for next week.

 

I'm playing with a couple more restaraunts right now.  I'm experimenting on a couple things.... I'll see what I like and post an update in a day or two.

 

I think Joerg is working on a Target.

Custom sounds are not difficult, but there are a couple tricks to them.  They seem to get distorted some in game, and I haven't found a way around that.  I learned from a post by PEG somewhere.  I think if you search a bit in the forums for sound related stuff, you'll find it.

 

I should have my new lots up fot Monday in the next 20 minutes or so...

Well, with that Hooters lot, SG has definitely topped my list of BATTERS. It is simply fantastic, and something every city needs.

 

Now we need some more essentials, such as:

 

Chili's (BABY BACK RIBS!!)

Timmy's (Tim Hortons)

A&W (mmmmmm.....woot beer)

Boston Pizza

Eastside Mario's

More gas stations (Esso, etc...)

As to resturants I would really appreciate a better Subway Sandwiches then the one currently on the STEX.  It is nice but I would love one with more detail!!!  And if you have the urge to ever add more grocery stores I would like to speak for the lower class Sims in requesting a Sav-A-Lot Store.
