The three kiosks are Photo Mat, Java Hut and Key Maker.  I made up the names, but I'm sure the first two at least are around.  I did these for a little break, and just for fun.  They'll be ready for next week.

 

I see we have a fairly long request list here.  I'll try to get them all done by the end of this century.... lol....

 

As of today, I haven't started building anything else for next week.  I am tossing around a half dozen ideas, but too many swimming around to grab one right away.  I think I'll do another restaraunt, and maybe then another hotel.  We'll see where I end up....

Just wanted to thank you for all that you are doing. Great work. Your lots add so much to the game.

Everytime I come on here there is another list of requests, I am starting to think people feel you should just live and breathe this game only.

Hey simgoober how about a car dealership? Ive been thinking of doing one or 2 myself although i havent started on one nor do i know if i will. Anyhow just thaught i might mention considering what a huge amount of space they take up in some cities.

 

Also i think the bass pro shop idea is really cool although they dont have regular stores they are often located in an Outdoor World which is like a hunting and fishing and outdoor sports mall type thing. I just like the idea becauses its different and the rustic feal they all have might be fun to replicate.

 

Lastly if your doing a hotel then please make more low rise hotels the ones that are 2-4 floors and have a pool in the courtyard. They may not be the hotel style thats popular right now but they are definately very common.

I forget where, but there are a couple car dealerships on the STEX.  One person released 3 or 4 of them.  I have a couple more restaraunts to do , and then I'm going to work on some hotels again.  I have my eye on a couple bigger ones, but the smaller ones might work as well.

 

For now, I started working on a Red lobster.  It still needs a fair amount of detail work, but it's coming along.  I'm getting better at tweaking textures in Photoshop, though the more I do it, the more picky I get.  I can't decide if I like these textures or not...

It's a bit smaller (2x2), but that will make a nice 3x3 lot I think.

 

While searching for images, I was amazed at how many different styles of this restaraunt there are.  This is a little of a composite, but close to what our local looked like a month ago.  They just remodeled it, and it's almost weird.  Reminds me of a surf shop now... oh well....

Update on the Red Lobster, it's coming along nicely.  The front view errored in the preview, that's why the front awning is solid grey.  It's fixed, I just didn't take another shot.

 

I'll actually be in Billings next week, small world...

I'll also be on the road for the next 10 days or so, so work will be sporadic.  I think I'll be able to get online as of Monday, but over the weekend I'll be out of touch...

Deadwoods did some nice gas stations, in his part of the world they are called Servos.  I am preparing to upload this weeks lots :

And for something a little different, I made a 40 story, generic office building.  There was a request for one in the BAT request thread a while back, and I decided to try something a little different.  I might do a few more similar, if people like it.  I'll keep doing my more normal stuff as well, but I like to experiment on occasion.

Yeah, DQ is a good idea.  Can't speak for the rest of the country, but they seem to be everywhere in the northeast US.

 

Also, what is the status of Perkins? (potential Operation Buffalo Wing inclusion)

 

Nice tower you created too.  I don't care what anybody says about roof junk (as usual), I think it looks great.  I would agree though that you should pick a different window color.  But maybe this could be your new thing - with each batch of Monday releases, give us another non-descript skyscraper - we don't have nearly as many as we should have!

I'm just curious what prop pack is used for the night lighting in such lots like the Bestbuy and Toy's R Us. I don't seem to have any lighting going on at night inside the stores. The outside lighting works fine. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're gonna be doing hotels, unless you have a clear picture of which hotels you're gonna be doing, how about make some motels along with the hotels? A Motel 6 for example, but anything would be fine. I think there's only one motel on the exchange as of yet...

Well, I'm having a busy week work wise, but I hope to get a little done now and again.  To answer a few questions:

 

Perkins will be the next restaraunt.  I hope to work on it this week.

 

Other Hotels and motels are on the drawing board.  I want to do a more upscale one, similar to the Embassy Suites, and also a lower end. I am staying in a Hampton Inn this week, but have a Motel 6 down the road....  I'll get a few pics.

 

The Courthouse building was sent to Vlakhaas, to do in his civic buildings.  He has a few he is working on, with some neat stuff.  It should be out in a while.

 

About the lighting problem; there are no files needed to make it work.  Sometimes when you plop a building, it takes a while for any BAT related lights to work. Also, make sure you have the BAT update installed.

 

I am playing with a new, basic office tower, and adding retail to the bottom.  It is in the very beginning stages, with no textures on the building.  The signs are on it just to see how they fit, they may change.  The color scheme is also temporary, just to help model it.  I'll make it a similar scheme to the Jenna Lynn, but with more traditional nitelites.
