About This File

A 55 x 45 kilometer scale map of the Vancouver region extending from Horseshoe Bay to Tsawwassen to Langley to Pitt Meadows. There are holes, but I'm too bummed out to fill them all in, so level them yourself, just like I did in my GVRD region on the City Journals. Thank you for looking up this map on the MEX, Simtropolis.

nah. it takes about 20 seconds to load onto the main screen and about 7 seconds to select a city to play in. im running p4 with 256 ram i think. i didnt buy the cpu, so i don't really know. it takes an hour just to load the whole thing, so you can wait and do other things while loading.

The jpg is in 24-bit format. It has to be 8-bit for SC to render it. Paint doesn't do a very good job of converting it. You need Photosuite or Photoshop for a decent 8-bit pic. Perhaps Ewok can "fix" the jpg and repost!!

ok... who rated an 8??? back to your questions.. the map should work fine. try using scarcc or whatever that saves greyscale 8-bit maps and load it back up. the MEX accepted jpg, so i uploaded jpg style. not my fault...

After building this for a while, I find the city to be ...a bit too big...things were too spread out if I tried to make the roads to scale. Granville Oak and Cambie Streets were too far apart after i built it...(I live in vancouver9

And now, a hint: if you don't want the whole thing, just crop some out and rescale it. You don't have to load the whole thing. takes forever to load now (2-4 minutes and whole lotta lag in cities). enjoy!
