A tribute to a once glorious American electronics retail establishment... now on the brink of complete who knows what. Fry's Electronics, founded in Sunnyvale, California, currently “operates” stores in Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, Nevada, Texas and Washington.
For decades, Fry's was the place to go to get all of your electronics needs. Prior to the last couple years, the gigantic Fry's stores were well stocked with pretty much everything from televisions to video games to home appliances to DVDs to computers, to every computer component you could think of to any sort of random item that required batteries or an outlet... to not-so-good sandwiches in their “cafe”... and to.. of course... a mile of pure and utter junk and junk food in the check-out line, because... why not pick up that Snickers bar (or two or three) and that 12-pack of soda and a packet of college-ruled notebook paper (!) after you just bought a new computer? And behold, awaiting you after the check-out line, are... yes... over 100 check out registers manned by a grand total of just three (cheery) Fry's employees. Be sure to get that Pink Highlighter Stamp of Approval before you leave the premises though!
Notes: The building sits on an 8x7 lot that can be found toward the top of your Landmarks menu. Plop cost is 100,000 but the building earns you a monthly income from "sales tax” generation of 10 per month (assuming Fry's stays in business). Lot is designed to allow more user flexibility in terms of placement and parking lot. As of January 2020, shelves inside the store are not guaranteed to hold anything of value, worth buying or anything at all actually.
