About This File

Hi guys this is my first map that I have uploaded to the STEX, so I hope every thing that is required is present. I hope you enjoy the map as its my way of contributing to the site and to say thanks for all the modds/Bats people have put up here.

The region is called Niyata and is standard SC4 Region size with mixed city sizes of which three are large, its all pretty standard so people should have no problems loading this up on SC4.

Contents:

Config.bmp

Niyata.SC4m

Readme.txt

Important: SC4 Terraforma or Mapper is required to create the region using the Niyata.SC4m file!

the problem I have with these maps is that I can't run Terraformer nor Mapper on my system. Something funny about the implementation of Python in the wine environment. For this reason, I prefer in-game renderable maps.

looks good, the gradual rise to the peaks is pretty realistic. one little tip, in nature there's sometimes sea cliffs and rivers also going through hilly areas, it's not always dead flat at the water's edge

I have the same trouble with my new machine and Windows 7, the Mapper utillity won't work. Having said that I was smart(or sneaky) enough to leave a lot of my older programs on the wife's PC so I can still get these maps.

Lew, this is usable to me as I like to have a busy water front and hate haveing to do a lot of engineering work and landfill on my coast lines.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, your right about the cliffs on another map I did put a lot of cliffs in as well but here I was lazy as it took so long to get the mountains right! I also like to put in a lot of Pegs waterfront stuff so I'm a bit biased to smooth beaches! (maybe I can upload the other map lol).

I do have some image maps to render in simcity but when I tested the results we not so great, in SC4 Terraforma maps rendered this way had strange results, and in SC4 it didn't accurately render the landscape as you see in the pics, so the best way was to use SC4m file.

I don't know about SC4 mapper but it is possible to get SC4 Terraforma to work on windows 7 quad core pc, though it was a pig to get going, I had to hunt down additional drivers and had two/three sleepless nights trying to get it functional lol.

Thanks again :-).

How do we install on Macs?

I'm sorry for super late reply I hope you have managed to get it to work, unfortunately I have zero experience with mac's its like alien tech to me to try and figure out apple operating systems and how they work!

You should check out the forums I'm pretty sure there will be a thread on how its done, I'm guessing there is a mac version of Terraforma you will need it to read the files to create the region. Where ever your regions are stored on the mac version these files need to be placed. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.
