No Radiation from Disease Center Mod  1.0

About This File

In SimCity 4, people would rather live next to a dump than a Disease Research Center, simply because the DRC produces radiation, which in the SimCity world is a very bad thing that will drive people away (in real life, everything produces radiation). This merely takes away the radiation factor from all new Disease Research Center and Advanced Disease Research Center units, though it won't stop damage from previous ones or prevent protesters (annoying but harmless), and thus makes the simulator more realistic. There is an attached read me file that explains more.

This was produced with ilives reader, but I understand that some people don't have the desire to muck around in it (or have a Mac)--that's why I produced this mod. It's very small and simple (1KB) but does the trick.

UPDATE: added mod for Advanced Research Center in the ZIP

Great Idea, would always hesitate to plop it down due to the radiation. simple but effective mod....

Though desireability isn't radiation, but were radiation is exist, the desireability always low and the color will become red instead of green (green=high desireabilty). Although you use desireabilty factor, still, you already prove if this mod is actually working. Thanks, this mod will made my city become more realistic as DRC no longer produce any radiation and the desireabilty around it will not badly affected. 5/5

The desirability is directly correlated to radiation presence, I confirmed that (indeed, a test city left a "scar" where the old one with radiation and undesirability, the new one does not).

It stils says that radiation appears...so what's going on? I plopped down both .dat files and it still says it has radiation.

Oh, probably nothing now that I look at it. But you can't search "disease" and "radiation" from the search, and mine does. In any case, I modded these independently.

Aha!  This might be just what I need to stop my 1x1 anti-pollution grass lot from generating sparkles of purification, otherwise I'll have to go back and change the negative radiation back to zero.  I though I was being thorough by adding an anti-radiation factor.  SC4 never ceases to surprise!
