About This File

Assorted Walk-Ups under Construction, Manhattan, New York, New York, United States

Any city as dynamic as New York City is constantly building new, better buildings. The Manhattan construction industry employs some 31,600 people, and since the ‘race to the sky’ of the 1920s, construction in New York has been stereotyped by skyscrapers reaching for the heavens. But beyond the Empire State Building, there have always been the small buildings known for their huge character. At one point New York was packed with old law tenements that today would be considered inhabitable. Policies were created by the city to improve conditions. Builders followed suit by building better places to live and work. Whether it’s hygiene concerns of the 1870s or energy efficiency concerns of the 2000s, there are only two things that are certain: New York isn’t done improving, and the noise of hammers, drills, and trucks will be echoing through the streets long into the future.

thank you I like the look of the covered construction which is quite common in large growing cities

Hey, you finished the unfinished buildings! I must confess that I'm not really sure if I'm going to use them or not... it's not a quality issue because they are obviously up to your usual standards, which means absolutely lovely. I just don't know what playing with them will be like. Guess I'll just download and give them a spin!
Do they grow? Just wondering because I could imagine using these as ploppables with jobs should they pop up too often for my taste. Then they could be used to fill that stupid gap in your row of W2W buildings that never gets occupied by a suitable building, no matter how often you bulldoze the non-W2W junk that keeps showing up...

@T Wrecks: To answer your question, yes, there are only ploppables in the file. And since they draw from a building family, it only takes up one space of your menu. You know, so you can efficiently 'zap those gaps'.

What's wrong with the middle building?
Either than that, it looks great.

Side note: I have the BAT thing but it is very hard to use and understand. I have looked up tutorials but that has not helped either. I want to make lots of things but i do not know how. I need help with this.

Thnx.
