i like it...

Many people think about sticking two buildings together and calling it a new building. (I've been there) But it usually ends up being nonpopular at best because it's unoriginal. If you don't use the SC4BAT program, then may i suggest re-LOTing regular maxis buildings to make them look nicer? That, or you can create original parks or plazas. But combining two buildings together isn't the way to go. 2/5 for the effort.
