Kinbasket Lake
By beskhu3epnm and HabLeUrG
Kinbasket Lake is located north of Golden British Columbia Canada. It is a lake that has been formed as a result of a dam placed on the Columbia River, a few kilometres south of where the lake formed.
This is a map of fantasy. It uses an area of 1:1 scale (Kinbasket region), but has been modified by the “I never stop working” HabLeUrG of NHP. The end result is something that is slightly unusual, but very useful. After all, without a great map, what can you build on?
Beautiful Vistas? Check.
An area available to build a metropolis? Check.
Hilly terrain with the ability to support slope building? Check.
Riverbeds with varying water depths? Check.
Island setting for bridge aficionados? Check.
Mountainous sections that support high alpine roads? Check.
High elevation locations suitable for resort-type lodging? Check.
That should be all you really need for this monster map!
The map measures 9 large tiles wide by 9 large tiles long (2305x2305). A config is included in the .zip package, however don’t limit yourself creatively, as it is set up for large cities only.
The Columbus Terrain Textures were used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package.
The PEG Limestone Rock Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any rock mod can used to do the same.
Make sure to visit our NHP Map Forum for posting your thoughts, suggestions, requests and comments + sneak peaks of future maps by the New Horizons Productions Team. Also, there are some much better screenshots of this map available in the thread. Enjoy this map, and don’t forget to comment & rate, even if you hate it!
