EDIT 12/01/07 - OK, now I really have fixed the jobs problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here's a smaller bus stop better suited to your small towns and villages, complete with a wooden bus shelter.
Lot size is 2x1. It carries 500 people but only costs §2 per month. Plop cost and bulldose cost are both 50. Also, it consumes 30 units of power but no water. Obviously, it will appear in the miscellaneous transport menu.
No dependencies, enjoy!
