NHP Grand Teton National Park (incl. Jackson, Wyoming)
By beskhu3epnm
Grand Teton National Park is a United States National Park located in western Wyoming, south of Yellowstone National Park. It is named after Grand Teton, which at 13,770 feet (4197 m), is the tallest mountain in the Teton Range. As a SC4 Map, it has tons of open space, and wonderful views!
This map was created using new 16bit technology that makes maps 100% accurate. Created entirely from 16bit PNG greyscale (JPEG is 8bit), the map never drops below 16bits of data. It is spaced for 16m per pixel, 1:1 in the SC4 world. The elevations are 100% accurate as per DEM data. The map has been rotated so the valley runs East/West instead of North/South. This will allow the user to build on the map more easily. The rivers located in the region could not be represented in SC4, as the elevation of the map spreads from 1837m to 2040m (it’s not a flat region, rather the elevation gain is very gradual). The rivers will have to be plopped manually because of this.
The map measures 12 large tiles wide by 6 large tiles long (3073x1537). A config is included in the .zip package, however don’t limit yourself creatively, as it is set up for large cities only.
The Columbus Terrain Textures were used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package. Credits to Cycledogg for permission to use these!
The PEG Limestone Rock Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any rock mod can used to do the same.
