Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park
By beskhu3epnm
Mount Assiniboine, also known as Assiniboine Mountain, is a mountain located on the continental divide, on the British Columbia/Alberta border in Canada.
At 3,618 m (11,871 ft), it is the highest peak in the Southern Continental Ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Due to Assiniboine's pyramidal shape, it has been unofficially named the "Matterhorn" of North America. Mt. Assiniboine rises nearly 1,525 metres (5,000ft) above Lake Magog. Mt. Assiniboine is enclosed within Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, which borders Banff National Park to the west.
However, in SC4, it will be up to you to decide what to do with this monolithic map. I deem this to be an extremely difficult map to build a large city on, but, you are the boss here!
This map was created using new 16bit technology that makes maps 100% accurate. Created entirely from 16bit PNG greyscale (JPEG is 8bit), the map never drops below 16bits of data. It is spaced for 16m per pixel, 1:1 in the SC4 world. The elevations are 100% accurate as per DEM data.
The map measures 5 large tiles wide by 5 large tiles long (1281x1281). A config is included in the .zip package, however don’t limit yourself creatively, as it is set up for large cities only.
The Columbus Terrain Textures were used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package. Credits to Cycledogg for permission to use these!
The PEG Limestone Rock Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any rock mod can used to do the same.
