About This File

This is a regular map, no height mod needed to render.  If you are using a height mod, remove it from your plugins before rendering this map or it will not render properly.

As requested by Goldfish4209, I made pretty much what he wanted, except for the northern area between the rivers [Goldfish4209, if you don't want that business between the rivers, I can remove it & send you a copy via e-mail without].   I used the color screenshot with the city grids for Goldfish4209's benefit and will be replaced with the screenshot without the city grids sometime soon.

Map size is 1025x1025 and configured with all tiles, 64 in total. This was my 20th map handdrawn with paint, only the third without needfor a height mod.  I hope everyone who downloads enjoys developingthe maps.

Make sure to go here to check out more of my maps.

I think dbs may be on to something. Those mountain peaks were supposed to be as tall as those mountains found on maps with the height mod required. These mountains do look kind squished somewhat in the rendered screenshot.

Yeh - all these maps with nice looking mountains, are created by the MOD not by the skill of the person making the map, but with respect to you and Mallow - I make maps - the terrain is hand drawn by ME not a Mod

I also think, and many have pm'd me saying the same, that a map with a Mod required is a false representation in the screenshot. Because many do not have the Mod, and do not READ that it is required. Plus the fact that installing the Mod obliterates any region made with a normal map

This causes frustration to many users. A few people have posted on the forums that they have GIVEN UP downloading ANY map because it either doesnt look like the screenshot or they simply cannot get it to render. As the 3 most prolific map makers, we need to come to an agreement on this Blade

I'm still not sure about the height mod messing with normal regions because as I've said, I've played normally non-height mod rendered maps with the mod still in my plugins folder and I've never had any problems at all. I'm not saying that's not the case, but it doesn't happen to me.....

And another thing, it's not the map-makers fault that those who download don't read the text in the description box. So for them to get flustered over it is their own fault. That's why we map makers put that info in the description to avoid rendering problems for those who download our maps......

....we map makers can only do so much. It's up to the downloader to make sure they have all the info about requirements to render the map before rendering.

I am enjoying this map. I have every tile named and over half under way. Quarter million sims and counting. Great job blade2k5! The only consistent change I have had to make is to shallow out the river bottoms to allow subway systems. The whales aren't too happy about that, but then again, they aren't paying taxes ;-) Later.

Thanks gjsx51 for both the comments and giving us some insight on developing this region.
