About This File

Ardnox Comprehensive School

Originally opened in 1963 as Ardnox Secondary Modern, this school was built in the typical 1960s panelled style.  By the mid '70s population pressures forced the education authority to bring in portable classrooms to deal with the extra pupils.

This school lot is 8x6 and has a capacity of around 750 pupils.  It is a high school equivalent and I have extended the coverage slightly.

Thanks go to deadwoods for the bike models (sorry they're not more visible) and to gascooker for his texture tutorials.

Finally! Looks great. There is a chance I use it in my cities... It's weird when all the city's schools are the same!

Looks great! Looks like so very many schools out there. Windows are a little green though, might want to make them a little more blue.

Wow! This looks like a lot of schools built during the 60s around where I live.

Classic 1960's comp, great work. I was wondering, if you were able to make a building family you could just change the side panel colours and add more variety to the game.

hogmeister - variations will come later. I'll revisit this BAT when I've had a chance to do something different.

I am really pleased to hear that, this fits into the game so much better than the maxis version and no one else has managed to pull off a realistic suburban high school. With the addition of a few more floors it could even work as a downtown neighbourhood school.

Fantastic work! 10/10! Has an excellent 60s feel to it. I've been looking for a decent UK school for ages. Blackbeard, I went to a school very similiar to this and it did have green windows, they put a horrible solar film on the windows to reduce sunlight.

Nice idea, nice looking building, and the stats are good. But no sims around the building or in the rec areas?

Great! Very 60's! It will give your cities a little bit of age. Look out! I might just make Las Vegas High School! It'd be like a 40x40 tile set though, haha. Huge 2 thumbs up! 65498421746164/10!!!!!!!! +6

Great building, very realistic. However, I wonder why this type of architecture was ever seen as aesthetically pleasing, especially the aqua green paneling.
