  1. Census Repository Facility v4.0

    Amazing effort!!
  2. Commuters from/to SimNation

I gotta say, I’m following this post with rapt fascination and bewilderment. The extent you all have been able to reach into the bowels of the game and do all this stuff is amazing, but goes right over my head 🤣🤣. But please let me know if I can help with anything :-)
  3. Commuters from/to SimNation

@CorinaMarie Just wow.. and just like that you've reached into the bowels of the game and touched it's soul :-) I've run the new dat file on a few tiles. Lots of different spikes etc, but it sounds like the statistic is just another game anomaly. I've attached some graphs if you need the data points. My main concern was that the commuting figures were adversely influencing demand, but it seems not the case. Maybe the best figure to keep an eye on is the 3 month / 1 year figures for the commuters, not the running total for the city. Thanks so much for the detailed response. It's blown me away :-) DK Extrapolated Commuters.pdf
  4. Commuters from/to SimNation

I can replicate it this way: Jacksonville: tile with no NC and no R, C or I. Landing Bay West (LBW): Neighbouring tile with lots going on,. Run Jacksonville for 12 months, spike appears in commuter graph. No further spikes until LBW is opened and saved. Once LBW has been saved, return to Jacksonville and run for 12 months. The figure in the census also seems to accumulate the sum of these spikes. Also, if a spike lasts 3-4 months, then the total for that spike is month 1 + month 2 + month 3.....
  5. Commuters from/to SimNation

I'll see if I can trigger the spikes...
  6. Commuters from/to SimNation

Hi @CorinaMarie, PDF attached with various screnshots of the region, the tile and some of the other tiles. Hope this helps :-) SC4_Commutersdocx.pdf
  7. Commuters from/to SimNation

Hi @CorinaMarie will do - will get back you in a few hours, once the dogs are walked :-) And I gotta admit my surprise when I woke up to these responses - I can't believe the level of knowledge and dedication to this game you all have. Just so unbelievable and impressive. Thankyou!!
  8. Hey folks I have a large tile with 621 residents and a few farms. No commercial or other industrial. The census is showing Commuters from SimNation as 119k, with Commuters to SimNation at 40k (27k commercial, 13k) . The 40k commuters leaving this tile is way higher than the 621 residents. I thought I had the eternal commuter bug (though it didn't have enough NC for this). Anyway, I've deleted every NC this this tile and in the neighbouring tiles, and run each tile for multiple years. No change. Traffic is negligible and there are no ferries. My next steps is to nuke the city, but wanted to check in with the SC4 brains trust. Any idea what is causing this and how to resolve? Cheers, Dave
  9. Regions not working on new PC

Thanks mate, good to know there is a system constraint so that I don’t keep trying to make it work. ive been on mac for a while now, have learnt to work with its “quirks”… I’ll start using the PC version when I start a new region :-)
  10. Hey folks I've been using SC4 on Mac for a while. I've got pretty good at troubleshooting, but am getting tired of chasing CTDs every time I add some new plugins. So I've installed SC4 (Stream) on Win11 VMWare on the Mac. Fresh install from Stream, no plugins (yet). I've copied my region over from my Mac, however when loaded on the Win11 instance I get standard blank square tiles (no terrian or coast etc). The default game regions load fine (London etc), but all my custom regions are blank tiles. The custom regions load the map terrain when I import the jpg file (Shift+Alt+Ctrl+R), but this doesn't;t get my city back. If I copy my SC4 city tile files into the new map area, they revert to blank tiles. Am I missing anything when importing a region file from a Mac to Windows? Cheers, DK
  11. Thanks! I've just add the NKO mod. Ill get back to zoning like crazy for R$ and R$$ :-) I'll keep you posted :-)
  12. AH, I was rushing last night. Here it is :-) Yes, some taxes in some tiles tweaked. With the screen shots, I'm trying to keep the $$$ out as its an industrial area
  13. Hi AsV7900 Hope these work. Number's will be slightly different to the post as time has progressed bit.. Cobb Troglodyte Complex - ha, yeah... surprised me a bit :-)
  14. Yup - though probably need to spend more time understanding and appreciating what it is telling me. Thanks for your examples! Mine are below. Cori's script shows a large discrepancy (>100%) between Actual vs Apparent demand for some services - is there a way to recalibrate this? From ASV700 very helpful explanation. I see I have very high drivers for R$ and R$$. I also see a discrepancy in my IR Farming. Census Repos has very low drives and demand, but CORI shows a 53k demand. Does this seem right? In the game, I am starting to see unemployment and abandonment, but I suspect it's due to the region spread/communting time.. It sounds like the best way forward for me is to zone High density residential, build up instead of out?
  15. Ah, that's relieving to see... makes me feel like 50k is normal and not a broken system. Thank you for taking the time to check that out :-)
