As a Mac user, I've played SimCity since the original-- released on Amiga/Mac first . It's been disappointing that I've not been able to do any modding since SC2K and SCURK because there haven't really been any tools for it on the Mac-- i.e, no BAT no lot editor for SC4. Having to jump through hoops to dissect .exe files for plugins, etc has been a minor pain, and Mac users had to jump through hoops with some of the EA SimCity web site stuff too. So do you think we will still be second-class SimCitizens? Presumably, with the announcement of a PC/Mac release, Aspyr is no longer in the picture for SimCity (thankfully?), so ideally, we won't be dealing with an inferior port of the game. Just speculation, here. I understand that not much is known yet about the state of modding for the new version... I'm just kinda curious (and hopeful) about not being left out this time.

To run the original SimCity 4 Mac (without Rush Hour) in windowed mode: Go to ~/Library/Preferences/ (in your Home folder) Open the com.aspyr.simcity4.plist file with plist editor or TextEdit Change fullscreen-mode to 0 Change window-mode to 1 Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but it took me a while to figure this out on my own - The windowed mode checkbox does not appear in the original SimCity 4 using Option-key launch, but editing the preference file works fine.

Thanx to Zelgadis for the Mac files. EA's stance on this is ridiculous... how hard would it be to add the Mac/Aspyr CD serial #s to their web database for downloads? (Answer: It would be trivial to do.) The .dat and .lot files are cross platform, FFS! It's all the more frustratingly ironic, since the original Maxis Sim City was an Amiga/Macintosh game, later ported to PC. =/ I've had SC4 since it came out, but just decided to revisit it. I have a dual 2.5GHz PowerMac with an ATi Radeon 9600 XT Unfortunately, Zelgadis' updated Graphics Rules.sgr file doesn't seem to fix my choppy scrolling issue (especially on big cities), I'm trying a few tweaks to the file, but not having much luck. Anyway, my question regarding this thread is: Since I don't have Rush Hour, are any of these files "RH specific" that I should avoid or not bother with? Thanx again!
